My guess is Raiders and KC fans that don't want to see us ahead of anyone.

When I voted yesterday Denver was at O.O percent and that was after I voted.

No way you can say (honestly) that Baltimore or San Diego has a better shot than Denver. Baltimore's hype is all about their offseason -- a cast away WR and rookie WR. Hell their TE can't even practice yet. Their MLB is almost old enough to be a Raider and they are changing defensive schemes. Their star RB is still in a half-way house. Their "offensive guru" coach can't get Kyle Boller to play at even a marginal level. They have two new coordinators. Tough to see any certainty in there.

If anyone saw San Diego play the Jets in the playoffs... well that's enough said.

It's amazing how Baltimore continues to get so much love. Ray Lewis has everyone brainwashed. That or the writers are afraid what the thugs on that team may do to them.

Everyone on that poll was a playoff team from last season except Baltimore. They may finish 3rd in their division this season behind Pittsburgh and Cincy (don't laugh, the Bengals beat them in Baltimore last season).

Well I can't remember that last time all four division winners in the AFC repeated. I guess that's because it's never happened!! In fact, historically, you could about count on at least 3 different playoff teams than those last season.

Good post Redrage. I believe that Ray Lewis is one of the most overrated, overhyped LB's of all time. Having said that, Ray Ray was a man posessed during Baltimores title run, which if it was anyone of us we all would have been in prison...

However, in the 3-4 Ray wasn't outstanding and was elected to ProBowls off of merit and reputations from previous seasons. They're going to the Bear's 46 defense this year, he'll produce big numbers, but will it equal big success?

You ever notice with ray lewis, everything is so serious, and he always speaks in hushed tones?

Well they do have the best secondary on paper right now in the NFL. Ray Lewis is in decline more than anyone likes to admit, but he's still a solid player. I think Jamal will have around 1400 yards this season. The real problem with their offense isn't their receivers so much as their QB. As long as Kyle Bonner keeps sucking, they aren't going anywhere.

For the record, I'd rather us fly low and under the raidar as we go into this season. Taco's "I'm going to call it" post was bad mojo, and shortly after that our team went into a tail spin.

People are forgetting that San Diego has a first place schedule to go with the first place finish. Drew Brees is certainly capable of reverting back to pre-2004 form. I actually worry about the Chefs and the Faiders MORE than San Diego...

I can't predict anything since free-agencey and salary-cap has taken over, to many teams are going from worst to first then they dissappear again, nothing suprises me anymore, for all I know the Browns and the Lions will be in the Super Bowl this year.

People are sleeping on the Jets. Easily they have a great chance of beating the Patriots and taking the AFC east this year.

Me too. Well not as much the fade as the chefs. Their D actually has a few players now. I'm just glad they'll likely be missing their corner by the time we play them here.

This is all fine as far as I am concerned. I am just saying that its all about perception. There are two ways to look at these types of things: what you can count on and what you aren't sure about. My point is really that there is no more to count on in Baltimore than Denver. There are certainly many more "experts" that love Baltimore, but that doesn't win you anything. It's really a bit of a double standard. People look at Denver and all they want to talk about is the question marks. They look at KC or Baltimore and all they want to talk about is the positives. Yet Denver had more wins last year and a solid offseason. That's all I am really saying...

Yeah I'd rather fly under the radar as well. The problem is that it will never happen. If we have any success early in the year we'll be high in some Power Ranking. We have just become a headline-worthy team somewhere along the line.

I have continually stated that I think San Diego will do what the Cowboys did last year -- fall back to earth. I think 8 - 8 is the best they can do. They have 6 games on the east coast; that's a lot of milage and a ton of early games.

It should be: Indianapolis, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Denver, NY Jets, San Diego. In that order.

I disagree. If Baltimore get's average play from their QB they are a SB contender.

With the Ravens D if they get very good play from the QB they're a playoff team.
