I am sure there is a thread of this nature from the past but this place has grown by leaps and bounds.

Where did you get your SN and what does it mean? Mine is pretty self explanitory and lame but there seem to be a lot of other interesting ones...

Like Zach, I didnt know that. Known you all this time Tred, and I didnt know Tredici was 13 in Italian.

As for Alec Raenos, its now a pseudoname I use for the internet in most everything. However, in the beginning, Alec Raenos was Alec Thomas Raenos, a Euthanatos Mage in a game called Mage: The Acension, a product by White Wolf Studios who also made Vampire: The Masquerade and Werewolf: The Apocalypse. Storytelling game similar in nature to Dungeons and Dragons and Cyberpunk.

I played it online in chatrooms in the early nineties then later in MUDs and MUSHes before I quit playing by 1994.

Anyway, when I quit playing I was still using AOL and AlecRaenos was my screen name so, I ended up just using it as my all-purpose internet username.

I was using AOL at the time as well and just started using it for boards...I would like to drop the KC but I guess some guy has the name "Zach" on CP and has posted like 10 times. We thought it would be rude to wipe him from the board just for my name change. Ha.

A few years back i read Harry Potter, and ever since i read the fourth book Ludo has just stuck. I really like that many ppl here have their own names rather than, Bronco23, or lynch47, that ish gets kinda old, and every1 having their own unique name kinda lets them put their sig on each of their posts. Good job all!

Kaylore
07-09-2005, 10:49 PM
Kaylore is a fake name. It came out a mis-pronunciation of the name "taylor". My friends and I thought the name was funny and cool sounding like some old knight or something and invented a guy named Kaylore. I use the name all the time now.

The name has nothing to do with Star Trek, Khan, Riccardo Montalban, or cheap leather. I use Khan because he's funny and cool at the same time. I'm not a die hard fan, I just like to stick with one theme for an avatar.

I lifted easymobee from a music producer (rap) way back in 94.

I was a sophomore in high school and first discovering the internet at a time when it was still considered to be something that just nerdy people really used. I think the allure of pron was what got my interest, but i soon discovered the chatrooms. I used to go to NetCentral live chat and go into the teen rooms. The way they were set up was that you had to pick a nickname to enter chat and i experimented with a lot of different handles. One day i used my current nick and discovered that 14-18 yr old girls from the world over really liked it.

My favorite CD at the time was 2pac "Me Against the World" and he had produced a few tracks on that CD (still one of my favorites).

The nick fits me well ( to me it always sounded like a laid-back persona was being put forth by that name, and that about sums me up. )

So mine was just a theft of someone elses imagination that i've actually been using steady now for 11 years.

To my recollection, it was somewhere around 1996-97 when the internet began to rapidly evolve from "Computer Nerd pasttime" to an everyday something like Television.

I went to South High school here in Denver and that was the feeling i got out of it (Graduated in 96).

Comes from southpark. My roommates and I were blitzed the summer of 99 when I picked out this name. It was a joke at first, but at the time I was playing a game called "Descent" and I didn't bother changing my online aka for 4 months, and the name stuck. I've used it in every online game since.

I've been to a couple large LANs where people usual just call me floppy.

I was Pierce on the Broncomania board (for Terry Pierce). Very soon after that, he was hurt and has never been the NFL player he was supposed to be. I decided that I would NEVER jinx another Bronco player again by taking his name if I joined a new board.

When I became tired of the childish behavior on the Broncomania board and found this place, I had to come up with a new name. Crushaholic came to mind because I'm addicted to the belief that a 21st century version of the Orange Crush defense CAN be achieved. :Broncos:

[QUOTE=ZachKC]Wow, I didn't get that far in on the ground floor. I just remember my dad bringing home a Packard Bell computer with a 2400 baud modem. The thing had a "turbo" button. rofl

We used Prodigy for a while and then switched to AOL.

Carlos Slim owner of Telmex bought Prodigy and now prodigy is the internet service provider for all of Mexico!

Prodigy was a lot of fun back in the day. The first message boards I ever posted on was on their service.

Sean
07-11-2005, 09:23 AM
My original name many years ago on the old RMN board was Sean Solo. I came up with that because my name is Sean, and "Sean Solo" kind of rhymed with Han Solo. With the internet being some new space aged gizmo to me at the time, I thought it a fitting moniker. Then I realized my problem, there are millions of Star Wars geeks like Bob on the internet, and I didn't want to be lumped in with them, so I shortened it to "Solo".

I still don't like it though. If a mod can change my name to just "Sean", that would be great. Or Caddyshack. Yeah, either Sean or Caddyshack.

Good thread idea, Zack.

I was watching a goofy show on TV called 'The Pet Psychic" or something like that. The 'psychic' was called to come and communicate with a rancher's llama that had a tempermental attitude (angry). The 'pshycic' then communicated with the llama and 'found out' that the llama was upset (angry) because it was stuck on a ranch in the middle of nowhere and wanted to be a movie star, so the 'psychic' gave it some sunglasses, a scarf, and a gradiose hat and treated it like it was in Hollywood strolling down the red carpet at a celebrity function.

This was probably the most rediculous thing that I have ever seen on television and inspired me to create a super-sarcastic handle: angryllama.

Similar origins on my name, although Alkazar was a D&D character from my playing days. He was a Ranger Mage that I ended up playing to max levels and finally decided to retire after killing off the 3rd or 4th deity......its been my computer handle ever since I first signed on in cyber space.

Who is the guy in your avatar?

Boobs McGee
03-18-2006, 09:56 AM
SO, one fateful morning last year in september (the 27th to be exact), my eyes suddenly came snapping open like a pair of automated shutters gone haywire. As the first few cogs in my mind dutifully started cranking to life, it soon became apparent that my entire body was engulfed in a sea of shimmering, crumpled, half consumed fallen soldiers. Those poor Key Lights never had a chance. For the next ten minutes, all that could be heard were the gentle sounds of aluminum cans being picked like delicate flowers from some utopian beer garden.

After ridding myself of the Keystone Light blanket that had wrapped my body in delicious 12 oz glory for the last 6 hours, I decided to take stock of the situation. The walkthrough commenced.

Half eaten burgers and hot dogs were strewn about like ciggerate butts at the Colfax bus stop. Empty bottles of various alcholic bevarages were balanced precariously on stereos, t.v.'s, window ledges...anywhere there had been a vacant spot at the start of the game yesterday was now occupado. Streamers of Orange and Blue criscossed every piece of furniture and light fixture as if the Bronco cheerleaders themselves had T.P.'d the inside of our house. The ping pong table which had once shone so brightly, akin to epic battles of beer induced grandeur, now wobbled limply under the weight of countless cans, tepid pools of alcohol, and one of the other (passed out snoring) survivors from the night's festivities.

Then there was the smell.

My olfactories were now hastily forced into fight or flight mode. Imagine if you can something off of an episode of Fear factor. In glass number one, we've got Orange flavored milk (yes, they were on special at King Soopers, so we picked up about 15 bottles, and drank, said bottles), cigarette butts, and lukewarm pizza. The carpet was saturated with some hellish mixture of sweat, stale beer, and some form of projectile (not sure if it was human or dog, but nonetheless it was RAAAANK).

It was at this time, while scrambling as quickly as my half drunken legs could carry me towards the patio door, that I noticed my die hard drinking buddy Ben doing the same. We hit the door at about the same time, simultaneously crashing out onto the porch and inhaling the deepest breaths of fresh Colorado air that our lungs would allow.

Drinking in the relative peace of a quiet tuesday morning, a K.C. asswhoopin on MNF, and the satisfaction of polishing off three 30 racks between 8 die hard Bronco fans, we sat staring back in at the chaos inside.

Ben turned to me, and through some of the worst breath ever to grace this green earth, said two words. Bronco Mania. I nodded in agreeance.

Yep, that pretty much summed it all up.

From that moment forward our Bronco Parties became known as Bronco Mania.
SO, for the sake of copyright infringement and legalities, I've shortened it to.......Bronconia.

The end.

Welcome to the board Tiger! There are a few martial artists posting here. I met a couple of REALLY impressive martial artists.

Tae Kwon do is one of the most athletic styles you can take on. I studied Moo Sool Do with Master Chung until he decided he wanted to compete in the Olympics and changed everything to Tae Kwon Do. I had a chance to train with Korean Special forces over here. The stuff we get in America isn't the same stuff at all. My martial arts style is Silat. If you want to study the roots of Tae Kwon Do look into a Chinese style called Hung Gar.

I would love to be a moderately paid martial arts teacher but I don't think I could endure the strange clientle, the swings in money, and the sheer lack of respect that is common with most people.

alot of my friends always combined my first and last name together so as a result most people know me as mattlee rather than just Matt. Then in college, a kid I bartended with started calling me mattleecrew. Somehow Motley Crue and tommy lee came up in a random conversation and he blurted out the name and it stuck. Been using it as a screename and email address for years now.

There probably should be a statute of limitations for people who registered and don't plan on posting (so that someone else can use the name), but you never know when someone finally finds the time to post...

I'd actually like to change my SN (if anyone knows how). I have used chrisar as a generic log in name in many a sites and when I first was prompted to create a login here I just went with it. Now that I have been more active on the site for a season (well, ok, not so much in the off-season) it would be good to change my name to what people actually call me "Archie".

BMF - Bad Mother ****er (from Pulp Fiction)

Normally the other part is Buffalo, but I found Bronco more fitting. Buffalo comes from ex-coworkers, I used to get pissed off very quickly and I am pretty big - 6'0" 225 - and always sport a goatee, hence buffalo.

Mine used to be DONKEYSHOW in reference to a little latenight girlie show in a dark, musty watering hole in south Tijuana Mex. Let your imagination figure out the premise of the show.

When I was 12 or so, my brother and I went on foot in Nogales. I can't remember what the delay was, but he said he had to burn off the weed. (I woun't go into what happened in Quadalahara... that's been told)...this has too, anyway, we get all hooked up and smoke a bunch and dump it or who knows, I wasn't carrying, and we get this offer for a dog and pony show.

They are very real.

So we get back a bit tipsy and totally stoned and US customs tore the Electra apart down to my moms panties. Man they were pissed when they didn't even find a seed, and my Dad was even hotter. He was a fine man, but gave them a toungue lashing. I thought they were going to tear off the door panels and search the tires. Of course, we both stunk of weed, and Dad was just as furious with us as well. Especially since Dave got lost in Quadalahara a week before and we were looking frantically for him...he was just too stoned and couldn't remember "Holiday Inn" to the Taxi. So my Dad is cruising prisons trying to find the fool. He ran off with some Senorita and how he couldn't convey Holiday Inn is still a mystery. I think he simply passed out with weed and the worm. It was quite a night. Then he was driving and fell asleep and almost killed us. That was quite the "Vacation" right out of Chevy Chase. Oldest brother Al bolted for Acopolco and wasn't seen for two months. Said he got hit by salt shot for using a unauthorized shower.

Yup, it was always Pezman. I lurked most of the time and let you all fight it out with KCBH, Slappy, Popps and the old crew. As I recall, even TJ posted there back in the day.

Ah, that's probably why I don't remember you from that board.

KCBH? What a character. I wonder what ever happened to that dude?

Yeah, TJ was a regular there too. He was the author of a famous political thread entitled "slimy republicans and their trashy politics."

That was the TJ I used to know and like. ;)

Come to think of it, I was at the Ogden in Downtown Denver for a NoFX concert. I'm buying a t-shirt from Fat Mike, and he says, "You look like a mightysmurf".

(I had blue hair)

For some reason that eventually became my nickname on my hockey team as per my blue hair, along with my Theo Fleury-esque playing style/attitude.

Last I heard, KCBH was still raising hell over at the Worldcrossing board along with some other refugees from the old board. And of course, you cant go more than two posts without somebody beating him down as always

That young, idealistic TJ that you speak of... whatever happened to him? Now he's just a grumpy 30-something libertarian yuppie ;D

As I recall Josh (Ames) and TJ were always battling back in those days too...
