On Putzier, what they don't realize, is he was taken out of the game in the read zone. That's why his td's were low. He's going to have a monster season this year.

I like the part about Putz being "not bad for a sixth round pick" Denver has had some luck with that pick (TD)

You know, people like to complain about Shanny not being able to get anything out of his high draft picks, but no seems to throw props his way for turning trash into gold. (TD, Rod Smith, Putzier, Reuben, Lenny Walls and I bet Nate Jackson helps out in some packages this year as well.) We do a nice job of developing players.

But developed under Shanahan. And that just makes my point. Getting good talent is so much more than just picking it up. You need to develop it and make it work in your system.

Look at our Super Bowl teams...

- TD was a 6th round pick
- Howard Griffith was a FA pickup from carolina I believe
- Shannon Sharpe was a 7th round pick
- Nalen was a 7th round pick
- Brian Habib was a lower draft choice too I believe
- Eddie Mac was picked up from the 49ers
- Keith Traylor was a mid round pick that had a brief stint with Chiefs
- Maa Tanuvasa was a castoff with the Steelers and Rams
- Alfred Williams we got from the Bengals I believe
- Romanowski from Philly
- Allen Aldridge was drafted in the 5th or 6th round I believe
- Crockett we got from Detroit
- Darrien Gordon from the Chargers
- Tyrone Braxton was a low draft choice of ours

All those players were either low draft choices of ours, or busts/castoffs with their former teams that had their best years in Denver. I'd say we develop talent pretty well.

I really like The Putz. I think he'll catch 40-45 balls this year. He is a really good weapon when used. I was trying to find a college picture of him last night, i was trying to put together a collage of all the young up and coming players on the team from their college shots but couldnt find a picture of Putzier at Boise St.

With all that said I think Ron Dayne could be next in line. He might surprise some people being put in the right system with the right team.

I'd bet Tatum, since we have more tied up in him.
