The seceret for us is to find away to keep Taiwan free and avoid war .....

They need the conspiracy's to keep them going...
Russia and China warned other nations Friday against attempts to dominate global affairs and interfere in the domestic issues of sovereign nations in what appeared to be a veiled expression of their irritation with U.S. policy.

President Vladimir Putin, right, and Chinese President Hu Jintao seen at a signing ceremony in the Kremlin in Moscow, Friday, July 1, 2005.[AP]
Presidents Vladimir Putin and Hu Jintao signed a joint declaration after two days of talks calling for a stronger United Nations role in global affairs and opposing attempts "to impose models of social and political development from outside."
The two leaders also urged other states to renounce "striving for monopoly and domination in international affairs and attempts to divide nations into leaders and those being led."
While the declaration did not identify any specific country, it echoed similar veiled hints by Moscow and Beijing about U.S. policy in global affairs.
After decades of rivalry, Moscow and Beijing have developed what they call a strategic partnership since the 1991 Soviet collapse, pledging their adherence to a "multipolar world," a term that refers to their opposition to U.S. domination.
China and Russia share a concern about increased U.S. influence in Central Asia since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, which led to American troop deployments in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan for operations in neighboring Afghanistan.
"We reinforced our mutual support on key issues like Taiwan and Chechnya which concern our vital interests," Hu said after the talks.
The two leaders gave an upbeat assessment on Russian-Chinese relations, which have flourished in recent years and were cemented in a border treaty ratified this year.
"We have set a solid foundation for friendship, trust and cooperation for Russia and China for a long time to come," Putin said Friday.
Moscow and Beijing dominate the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, a regional security grouping that also includes the ex-Soviet Central Asian nations of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
After their meetings in Moscow, Putin and Hu were due to meet again Tuesday at the SCO summit in Kazakhstan.
"We are increasing coordination and cooperation on important regional and international issues, such as guaranteeing stability in Central Asia, the SCO, reform of the United Nations and the nuclear problem of the Korean Peninsula," Hu said.
The Russian and Chinese militaries are due to hold their first joint maneuvers later this year — which some observers have seen as Russia's response to cooling relations with the U.S. and other Western nations.
China is eager to tap into Russian oil and gas to fuel its booming economy, and has lobbied hard for priority access over Japan to an oil pipeline carrying Siberian crude to Asian markets.
Russian-Chinese trade amounted to about $20 billion last year, and Hu told the ITAR-Tass news agency that it could reach between $60 billion and $80 billion by 2010.........

I remember reading awhile back that due to China's population control that there were many more men in the country then women. This of course was due to the fact that couples wanted a son so he could grow up and take care of the family. Many baby girls were killed so the family could have a boy. This has caused a society of desperate men. Men that are poor and really have no chance of ever getting married or having a family just because there are no women that will go with him. This will happen to many many men and I remember this article saying that these men will become disgrunteled, violent and the government will have to do something for this segemnet of the population. Like fighting wars. This professor made a very good arguement about his thesis. Think about it. There are hundreds of thousands of men in China that basically have no real chance to find a lifemate and start a family. This is a goal of almost every human on Earth and these men have no chance.

Thats very interesting. Makes sense when you think about it. Also along those lines are 2 things Ive been thinking about
1. War is a great way to take care of over population
2. If the population continues to be out of hand and the people become restless a "war of honor" would prolly stop uprisings.

well at the risk of soundling like a Conspiracy theorist ( aint that right DBruleu)
http://www.washingtontimes.com/specialreport/20050626-122138-1088r.htm
Some excerpts from a fellow Conspiracy theorist .........
"China is building its military forces faster than U.S. intelligence and military analysts expected, prompting fears that Beijing will attack Taiwan in the next two years, according to Pentagon officials."
**** Disclaimer****We all know how flakey pentagon officials are , and we should understand that W*GS and DBruleu have a far better grasp on what China is doing ,then the Pentagon**** end of Disclaimer ***
U.S. defense and intelligence officials say all the signs point in one troubling direction: Beijing then will be forced to go to war with the United States, which has vowed to defend Taiwan against a Chinese attack.
China's military buildup includes an array of new high-technology weapons, such as warships, submarines, missiles and a maneuverable warhead designed to defeat U.S. missile defenses. Recent intelligence reports also show that China has stepped up military exercises involving amphibious assaults, viewed as another sign that it is preparing for an attack on Taiwan.
Those silly pentagon officials ....... according to our China experts here , China wont attack Taiwan cause China is worried about outside influence ........
"There's a growing consensus that at some point in the mid-to-late '90s, there was a fundamental shift in the sophistication, breadth and re-sorting of Chinese defense planning," said Richard Lawless, a senior China-policy maker in the Pentagon. "And what we're seeing now is a manifestation of that change in the number of new systems that are being deployed, the sophistication of those systems and the interoperability of the systems."
China's economy has been growing at a rate of at least 10 percent for each of the past 10 years, providing the country's military with the needed funds for modernization.
Thanks alot Mr Clinton you dope ...... I know , I know you listen to W*GS and DBruleu that China was chock full of nice guys and would never be aggressive , and that the Pentagon is full of whacky Conspiracy type guys .......

China may have an army of millions, but I'd sure like to see them overcome the logistics of moving that many troops across the Pacific. Especially through a net of subs, stealth bombers, Aegis cruisers, etc. etc. It's Russia that has to worry about China. Not us.

I got a friend that has a son in South Korea ........ From what he can see , there wouldnt be much of a problem taking Taiwan .......
See I dont think China would plan on fighting us everywhere , they would Defend the immediate area , this wouldnt be China loading up and trying to Invade us , this would be more of a Lets take Taiwan , and Defend here ...... I dont think China wants a war with us , but they want Taiwan back, and they would be willing to risk war to get it ........

They would have to hit military targets inorder to get troops across to Taiwan. If they just sent troops over my guess is not one would make it.

The Aegis cruisers are designed as air defense platforms for various threats and to act as escort craft for carriers. CVN carry only in close Phalanx Systems as last resort. Think Gating guns. The key component of the Aegis platforms is the radars. The ships sold to Taiwan carry an early version of the radar and not as effective as current US models. This was done to protect our ships and technology.
Currently China is field a number of land base missiles systems that would be used to "soften" Taiwan defense if they were attack. Key to prevent is have Carrier group in the area to quickly respond and coordinate the attack/defense
