...and a few other things.,
Okay so its the off-season and ridiculously slow so I thought Id waste some band-width and ask what those of you think of Sirius... the oppinions of those of you that have it AND those of you that don't (are you thinking about getting it?)
I don't have it, personally, but will be getting it in the fall/winter time. I do own 3,000 shares of the company and made about $1,500 so I'd love your oppinions on the actual service.
On another note: Does anyone know any connections at a major fiction publishing house, by chance?
Thanks everyone, sorry for wasting your time if these topics are of no interest to you.

I am a Truck Driver at night and I use XM , I hear they are close to the same, enjoy the service, real nice when you are up in the hills of West Virginia and you can listen to the same station if you want virtually the whole way.
Sometimes you get up in the big mountains and the signal cuts out but not much.
If you are just riding around in the car 20 miles a day, it would be a waste, if you are listening several hours a day or have to be behind the wheel alot then
You are not wasting your money.

I have XM Satellite Radio. Since I have a long commute I really like it. Love the uncensored Comedy Channel. Pisses me off the NFL went with Sirius, but that's the way it goes.

I have XM and love it as well. Don't mind not having NFL because like Zach, I prefer to watch the games.

Hey Rev, thanks for wasting my time. I'm going to spare for change to buy XM Satellite Radio. XM and Sirius are practically the same by comparison, but XM has the 24-hour major league baseball channel via MLB Homeplate. I have 2 more days to decide if I want to pay $499 for a lifetime of either.
SIRIUS: 65 Music (commercial free) and 55 News, Sports, Talk & Entertainment
XM: 67 Music (commercial free)and 30 News, Sports, Talk & Entertainment plus 21 XM Instant Traffic & Weather
Edit: 1 1/2 hour commute and 6:30am-3pm work day. Take off an hour for lunch and breaks, and that's going to be how much I'll use it.

The last time I listened to you, I ended up watching you chase Vargas with your wiener hanging out.

Haha, I was going to say you drafted him but I think I was the one who opened my fat mouth. All jokes aside, I probably would have went with Ricky Williams.....but mostly to spite you.

Sirus just added broadcast capacity equal to XM. Their satellite licenses mandated a common chip so that you could use the same hardware for either by end of this year, but that will get extended. If you want satellite, your choice should be based on content.
Have done quite a bit of work for Sirius and they are mostly great people. Have done no work for XM, so I would probably choose Sirius unless I get a big job from XM soon :).
I just drove from Connecticut to Cabo with Sirius and I Pod, made the trip a real pleasure.
