To be honest, if it will curb the current violence and help to get us out of Iraq faster, I'm for it.

I could see this happening because the article makes it clear Bush isn't talking to forces loyal to Zarqawi. THEY are the real enemy. They are the ones that are cutting heads off and we won't negoiate with them. Talking to the Sunnis, who, as the article says, are just opposed to us being there, could be seen as a way to find an exit strategy to this war if the area could be stabilized.

I cant remember who it was , Ron Reagan I think on Connected coast to coast , had the #'s on who is who , somthing like 2,000 forces loyal to Zarqawi , and over 20 K to the sunis ...... I dont know how accurate that is , but Ron Reagan said them as if they was , no one called him on it . so

Heh heh heh.
I was listening to an interview with Rummy, and when asked if this sort of thing qualified as negotiating with terrorists, he said "no."
He also said "we're certainly not going to deal with those people who have blood on their hands," or words to that effect.
Tell me, Rummy, how the hell do you know who has blood on his hands and who doesn't in this mess?
If your intel is that precise and comprehensive then you should be putting a wrap on the whole operation by now.

A terrorist w/o blood on his hands is not much of a terrorist. ???

But there is no doubt that we didn't take enough time on what would happen after the major conflict. If we can get the Sunies to at the very least come to a truce, then I think the other 2,000 of f.ck nuts would be easier to contain.

Not to mention the fact that Osama Bin laden is still at large, Bush's Iraq killing spree is an al Qaeda recruiter's wet dream, and all of our national guardsmen are unavailible in the event of a terrorist attack here at home because they're all in Iraq providing personal security for KBR.
