Screw this guy he can K#$$ my ass. He comes out blasting people for calling spades spades. Doesn't he realize that fans must show up in order for him to get paid. I'm glad I'm not a huge NHL fan because stick a fork in it.

Anybody that follows hockey enough will realize that JR is , to put it nicely... outspoken. Just like Bret Hull, Chris Chelios and Keith Tkachuk, they all speak before they think.

Although he does make a few points. I think what he was getting at was where fans call them spoiled, but meanwhile in the background both JR and others ( Esche, Iginla and Pronger ) were busting their collective arses to try and broker a deal sans the tyrant PA leader Bob Goodenow.

The guy just wants to play hockey and is pissed at the situation like anybody else involved in the NHL lockout debacle. I don't condone it, but I understand where he's coming from.

Anyone know how to say, "Hey Jeremy, I got four rings now, I can't see or hear you" in french? :poke:

Nice job JR. You go from colorful & outspoken to Schilling-esque all in one shot. Way to start mending fences with the fans jackass.

No matter, I was never a Flyers fan anyway, but I did have respect for JR until he said this. Makes me think back to Brett Hull saying he doesn't "give a **** about the fans anymore". Hopefully he was referring to Detroit fans, lol.

Gosh, that just never gets old. ;D

I must have missed the latest Roenick Rant. We should have stopped being shocked by him long ago. He's always been a colorful personality.

What a puss. JR should man up and do what Jagr did when he told the truth, the players gambled that the owners would fold and they didn't. The players lost this time around and everyone knows it.

You know what i agree with him 100%. Look at it this way

Say you were working at a cooperation(the nhl) and the cooperation across the street(all other pro sports)the people made that much more than you for doing the samne thing(playing a sport) how would you feel.

Actually this happens frequently in business. The higher paid individuals of the industry are usually paid better by the more successful companies. The top people (yes, you want to use the top pay scale since players are at the top payscale of their industry) at MS are paid better than the top people at Corel? More often than not the top people will be better paid by the businesses that are more successful. When the NHL can draw half the attention of the NFL or MLB, then they can begin to start considering themselves in a sligthly similar vein (especially as it concerns finances).

But you're lumping 'sports' into one catagory. By your reasoning, a professional lacrosse player should be getting paid $5 million per year for just being a professional athlete.

In reallity, each sport is a different business. As different as a construction firm is from a resturant. You can only make as much as the market warrents. If only a small part of the population cares to watch professional hockey, then that's the size of your market and will earn accordingly. If, like the NFL, your market is much larger, you'll earn more money.

Maybe JR is just PO'd he choose hockey over football when he was younger.

I'd feel fine. It happens now to everyone. If you have a friend that makes more and you are bitter, it's your own fault. Maybe you should have chosen the career that your friend chose.

These hockey players knew exactly what they were getting into when they chose hockey, just as football players knew exactly what they were getting into. If all they wanted was to be the richest stars in the world, then they should've chosen a different sport.

Radio this morning said he had a few "Barley Pops" at the golf tournament before the interview and he was now trying to figure a way to defer attention from his statements.

LOL... JR, a little advice. Don't talk to the press if you've been drinking, jebus.
