The Renaissance Festival is awesome...but it doesn't start until August...There are some cool bars in the Mall of America.

What part of Minneapolis are you going to be in?

Downtown has some fun bars but partying on the campus is an amazing time.

...and with all the rain we've had in the past month...it'd be easy!

I you want to stay in that area, Lord Fletcher's in Spring Park and Maynards in Excelsior are both popular, on Lake Minnetonka and will provide some good ,ahem, scenery, especially on weekends. If you like microbrewery type bars the Watchtower (think that is the name) in Eden Prairie has some good brew. It is right under the watertower in Eden Prairie. You can see the tower to the west from 494 and 212. If you get the chance, get out on a boat on Minnetonka and party at Big Island. That is a pretty wealthy part of town and the crowds will reflect that. Downtown Minneapolis is where to go if you want a real party scene.

Also might want to borrow a shotgun while you are there. The mosquito ranches are just gearing up to peak production.

Ice fishing and the Vikings.... that's about it. Sucks to be you.

You can stop by Eyota and say Hi to my Grandma.

You can practice running to the southwest corner of the basement for when the tornado sirens go off like they did about 530 Denver time tonight.

Shooting yourself in the head to put yourself out of your bloody misery comes to mind.

Other than that, best thing to do in minneapolis is leave.

You guys have had the same weird weather we have this year. We had a tornado on Thursday. This is not tornado country! I went skiing on Friday. I have never skiied past April before. Strange. Minnesota probably is having better weather than this part of the country lately.

If you get a night out, try to catch a show at First Avenue - Seventh Street Entry. Great music venue, ala Soul Asylum, The Replacements, Husker Du, etc.

Downtown, corner of 1st Ave and 7th St. Across from the Target Center.

Highly recommended... they usually book very good bands there.
