The offseason is killing me. So much so that I have started to think about potential merchandise items that the NFL will sell around Thanksgiving.

Given that the Broncos are playing that day, and will be wearing throwback uni's, it got me thinking. What are some merchandise items I would like to see for Broncos gear. Then I was watching NFL Networks "In Thier Own Words" featuring Lou Saban. There was the following shot of him wearing an old school Broncos hat.

I want the NFL to put out an updated version of this hat. Reebok, fitted, slouch fit with the old school "D" on it. Not the old logo, just the "D". They use to put the "D" at midfield as well. The "D" representing Denver would rule. Hell the Cowboys still have hats like this that the coaches wear, so do the skins. Why can't we. I think they would sell like crazy.

I would love to see them break out with that old school coaches hat worn by Saban or the "orange pants" roadie pants with the dark blue helmet. The same style adored by B-Love, RHogan and Tomservo.

However, some of the throwback stuff is outrageously priced. I fell in love with this item on the Mitchell and Ness website until I saw the price!

Damn, BLB52, that jacket is awesome, but that price is unreal. The cool thing is that since they are playing on thanksgiving, there WILL be some throwback merchandise put out by reebok (official NFL merchandise partner), and it will be mroe affordable than that link you posted. Problem is we have no idea what era they will go with, or what they will put out.

You're right. My father bought me a nice looking Reebok "NFL Gridiron Classic" long sleeve pullover for Christmas a couple years back. I think they sold it on the website for $60.

I am a little ticked off about the "Mitchell and Ness" fashion trends. I really can't stand it when some rapper or wannabe baller sports old school Bronco gear and doesn't even support the team. Those guys are solely responsible for jacking up the prices out of reach for the Average Joe fan. A few years ago, I saw a guy wearing the 80s Astros jersey at a party and I told him, "that's nice, Nolan Ryan, Mike Scott days". And he responded, "Who?" Give me a break! That's just wrong.

Don't worry RHogan, I am going to contact your man about some cheap throwback jersies.

Has there been any official announcement as to what Denver will wear on Turkey-Day?

I mean, I know the 'throwback' is the NFL's new tradition on Thanksgiving, but are we wearing the 70-80's unis like last time we played Dallas? Or is it possible they'll wear some other throwback? ie; The bucking Bronco or even the initial unis from the 60's?
