I'm an American car type of guy. I've always owned one. I drive a '96 Mustang GT. One day I'll have my dream car garage. It'll have a 65 Mustang fastback, a 67 GTO, an old Bronco (67-77 style), and a mid 90s Impala. It'll take me a good 15 years to get all those cars, but I'll have them all some day. I plan on building a custom chopper within the next year. I hate the croch rockets.

I hear that about the fuel prices which is why I still have a 1993 Toyota Celica ST instead of a new car. 80 miles roundtrip to work and back @ $2.28 a gallon (and rising) keeps me from getting a new one (no comparison to SC prices, but still expensive).....luckily, having a Toyota is like owning a pair of Chuck Taylor Converse sneakers.....keep the oil changed and the tires rotated and it'll never wear out.

Unless gas goes back to $1.35 a gallon, I'm gonna run it into the ground.

Not handy. But I will take a few tomorrow and post them for ya. It's a '97.

It has a 80mm C&L autometer air flow meter on it. It has a twin 62mm throttle body, pullies and a K&N. It would have more on it, but the 65 get's most of the new parts. The wheels are Roh. I have a few bucks in those. It's only been caught in the rain roughly 8 times in 8 years. The paint is still like new. Never been in the snow.

There is nothing wrong with this hobby. Yes the cars deprecate over time (unless it's a classic) but for some people that doesn't matter. I'm 19 years old and own a 1994 Mustang GT (paid full in cash the day I bought it with my own money)

Please don't believe that everyone who modifies their car is out acting like idiots. There are many of us that mod our cars, drive safely on the street and then let it rip at the track.

I'm shopping right now.

I just keep driving the old camry...it's cheap and won't break...she just chugs along smoothly...well kinda...she's a warrior tho...

I'm not paying premium for an M5 Mazda.

I might just get a that stupid looking Buick SUV.

Well no offense to you....but...

You're already bankrupt and you don't know it. Seriously. There is nothing wrong with a hobbie...I'm just saying at 19 there are better things you can do with your money...so that when you're 30 you can do more. But you'll...one way or another find that to be true. Now...if you can make money at it...well that something different.

As to your second paragragh...there are all types of people that do all types of things.

I've got teh Kia Sedona to haul the kids around in. Then there's "my"car. 1979 Triumph Spitfire. When she runs, she's one of the sweetest rides you'll ever experience. When she doesn't, she's a hole on the garage surrounded by metal into which I throw all my spare money! ;D

This one isn't it, but it's almost exactly like mine.

My schwinn.

Funniest thing I ever saw was Disco man riding it thru the KC tailgating lot carrying an Orange ax. The Chief fans didn't care for that too much. Neither did security.

I believe we have pics of this somewhere. I'll have to do a little searching.
Hope to see you in KC again this year, I'm certain the outcome will be much better!

My ride, a 97 Tahoe LT, My daughter just turned 18 last week and I surprised her with a sweet little Mercedes 380 SL. A 1982 with a removable hard top as well as the convertible. rag top..... only 83000 miles on it

Alot of times it's not as expensive as it seems. I paid under 3k for my car and another 8k will make the car everything I want for it. That's still alot cheaper than a new car.

Also I plan to make a career out of this, gonna go to UTI and then shoot for a job at a Ford Dealership and then hopefully start my own performance shop.

Another 'limousine liberal' ....... shoulda known.

This is an odd statement from an apologist for a silver spoon pResident who grew up in the back of a limousine and who, at the behest of his advisors, cultivated a phony "aw shucks" Texan persona for marketing purposes.

But that's for another forum, I guess...
