Hey all, just accepted a job here in Woodland Hills, CA, and I'm looking for some advice.
Ideally, I'd like to live in Santa Monica and commute to work, but I here traffic is awful.
There isn't much in Woodland Hills though...it's like a big buisness park. Not sure I want to live here either.
Anyone who lives in the area have any suggestions?

Santa Monica is very nice if you can find a place there. Yes there is traffic all over L.A. pretty much. Unfortuneatly cant help ya too much with suggestions as i live on the other side and am not too familiar with that area.
Welcome to SoCal.

Im a little too far south from that area, but the traffic all over is killer so Id live as close as possible to work and commute when you want to party or go out and see things... that way you won't want to kill yourself everday on the 5 or 10 like everyone else down here.

You might be able to avoid the bulk of the traffic if you live in Santa Monica. Most of the rush hour traffic in the morning coming over the hill is going south. You might be able to get over the hill going north with much lighter traffic. Same goes for the evening. Most of the traffic is going north. You'd be coming south. I'm not saying you'd be driving traffic free, but you would be going the opposite way of most of the traffic.
If I were you I'd stay in the San Fernando Valley. Encino is nice, and close. So is Sherman Oaks. Studio City isn't too far either. There would be a lot less traffic coming from those areas. I wouldn't want to go north though. Chatsworth is like the porn capital of the world. I wouldn't want to live there, or Canoga Park, Northridge or Reseda.
