Hi All,
I love this forum, and have been a die-hard broncos fan since 1982. However, I will root against the broncos until Shanahan is fired. I cannot stand how he has imported guys who are underachievers, criminals, or both. Bowlen is a disgrace as well; he said that he's big on character, and that anyone who gets in trouble will be gone. Well, that's a stupid definition of character. Good character is not just avoiding trouble; it's doing the right thing to begin with. I am so sick of this team being led by an a**h**** (Shanny).

I know I will get flamed for this post, but it is really hard to see this happening to the beloved broncos. It's also hard to see the few good guys (R. Smith, A. Wilson, J. Lynch) overshadowed by the jerks, led by a punter of all people!! I don't even blame the players - I lay it all at Shanny's feet. It is probably the most unlikable team in all of sports right now...they're awful. Profootballtalk.com has even coined them the "Island of Misfit Toys" and it's an appropriate moniker.

Hats off to all of you who can stand it; I'm taking a year off and hoping Shanny gets flushed!

Let him see Sauerbunz leading the league and punting and see if he minds him making fun of Sebastian Jankowski... Hell, we could use a bit of his hard headedness. I couldn't do it. I read to I'm taking a year off, and had to stop. That is the purest example of what a fan isn't. You just can't take a year off from rooting for you team, because you're angry at the way the team is run or performing. I have gone through some awful seasons in all my years as a Bronco fan and now as a Crush fan (0-8 at home their first year), but I would NEVER, EVER, stop loving my team. Same goes with the Cubs, I have endured some really bad Cubs team, and still I follow, watch, and cheer for my cubbiedubbies. Go be a Patriots fan or an Eagles fan you bandwagonning, fairweather, don't realize how bad the Broncos were in the 60's and 70's, because they didn't have Elway, POS and take you ass away from my team. :redpunch: You want to see a shining example of what a fan is? Look at the fans for the Crush. They sent thousands of e-mails (Mayor Hickenlooper said they stopped counting at 15,000, demanding a parade. The governor's office received an additional 6000. The fans decided that if they weren't going to get what they want, they put together their own celebration party and about 8,000 people showed up (as well as the Governor, and the Mayor). Ahmad Hawkins asked how many were season ticket holders from the beggining, and almost every hand went up. That is what a fan is faker, someone who is faithful to their team until the bitter end.

Saying and doing are completely different things. I said a few years ago that I was going to go and be a Lions fans b/c I was so pissed off about the loss to the Bears... doesn't mean I wasn't still routing for my boys by Monday Morning! Funny things is, the Lions since then have some of the players I was really hoping to see in a Broncos Uniform! Dre Bly (UNC!), Kevin Jones, Roy Williams, and Joey Harrington... not b/c he's that good but b/c I loved him at Oregon!

That episode was over some lame family smack he laid down... been over and done with for quite some time. Don't know where he hangs his hat these days.

The thing that I went through was somewhat similar. I was pissed over a piss poor game plan against the Bears a few years ago. After the game I said something along the lines of "hell, I should just be a Lions fan, atleast they can beat the Bears and if they lose I wouldn't be as upset"... something along those lines anyway. Sh!t, if I was really going to "change" my colors wouldn't have made sense to go with a real team. I can remember thinking, okay should I write the Lions or the Cards. Surely people will realize that I'm not going to change to one of those sorry ass teams...lol. It was more of a venting/frustration thing than anything else. That's why I don't take what this dude said to heart. He's frustrated and if he's a real fan, he'll be just like the rest of us come opening day or preseason for that matter.
