The Kiss

He had just saved her from a fire in her house, rescuing her by carrying her out of the house into her front yard, while he continued to fight the fire.

She is pregnant. The firefighter was afraid of her at first, because he had never been around a Doberman before.

When he finally got done putting the fire out, he sat down to catch his breath and rest.

A photographer from the Charlotte , North Carolina newspaper, "The Observer," noticed this red Doberman in the distance looking at the fireman.

He saw her walking straight toward the fireman and wondered what she was going to do.

As he raised his camera, she came up to the tired man who had saved her life and the lives of her babies, and kissed him, just as the photographer snapped this photograph.

And people say animals are dumb - yeah right.

Great story.

I know they can be trained to be mean, but two of my favorite dogs in my life have been dobermans. When i was in college a friend had one that was the best frisbie catcher I have ever seen. That dog just wanted to run and play all of the time. Later I dated a woman whose parents lived in a rough neighborhood. They had this really fat doberman and put a big spiked collar on it to make it look mean. In reality that dog could barely bend over to eat its food and I am sure even I could have outrun it. When you sat down in the house it would wander over and put its head in your lap and beg to be petted.

Dogs are absolutely amazing. As much as he drives me crazy sometimes, I almost cry when I think about what I would do if anything ever happened to my Jack Russell! Thanks for sharing this story

Dogs are more loyal for sure. I wish I had the room for a dog, but I don't think it would be fair to it to keep it inside a little place all the time, and there is no way im getting a "rat-dog". So I'm stuck with a siamese.

I KNEW the picture looked funny. That soot appears to be photoshopped on the firefighter's face. It looks way too fake. The firefighter looks surprised and ambushed by the dog. That's why the second story that Patswin linked makes more sense. I believe that he just took his mask off and was then licked by this dog.

See, and this is why I like cats more. If I could choose what I was going to be, I would chose to be a cat instead of a dog.

Cats sit around all day, sleep 8-12 hours daily, eat and go to the bathroom...that is it! No tricks, no walks, no even going otuside to do the business, just sit around all friggin day eating, sleeping, and ****ting, it doesn;t get better than that.

Plus, you can leave a cat alone for a day or two as long as the litter box is clean and they have food. Dogs require much more care.

Cats are for people who at least want to be lazy, I get home from 10 hours of work each day, open up my bedroom door and see both my cats just lying there on my bed sound asleep, I just think to myself "God Damn do I want to be a cat."

They get all the affection in the world, and put forth no effort in return, what a great life.
