So that leaves the question who does MNF now? Still Michaels? If so, him and who else?

As long as Paul McGuire doens't come along with him...Joey T isn't my favorite but could take him long before Mr "What Makes This RB Great Is His Feet Never Stop Moving"

IMO, the ESPN Sunday night crew is the worst booth in sports....I couldn't pick one over the other...they all must go!

How many 250 lb 70 year old men do you know??
My answer is zero.
Why?? Because 250 lb men die when they get that old, because their bodies can't handle the stress.
Unless John Madden loses some real weight, he may not see the final days of this NBC contract.

From what I've read he's been losing weight for years and been on a healthy diet.

Hope you're right for his sake.
To me his neck still looks huge and bloated. Maybe that never goes away.

Holy cow! 43 million copies of Madden?
Madden leaving ABC for NBC's Sunday Night Football
Associated Press
NEW YORK -- John Madden will join NBC as a game analyst when the network begins televising its newly acquired Sunday night football package in 2006.
The network scheduled an afternoon teleconference with Madden to make the announcement. Madden will remain with ABC's "Monday Night Football" for the 2005 season.
"John Madden is the best analyst in the history of the National Football League and, in my opinion, the best analyst of any kind in sports television history,"' said Dick Ebersol, chairman of NBC Universal Sports & Olympics. "John is much more than a football legend, he's an American icon."
Madden has spent the past three seasons teamed with Al Michaels on ABC's "Monday Night Football."
"I have been doing this a long time and when I went to ABC to do 'Monday Night Football,' I thought I would finish my career there," Madden said. "But when the NFL did this new television deal, I looked at 'NBC's Sunday Night Football' package, and I thought this really fits me well."
Before joining ABC, Madden teamed with Pat Summerall to call Fox's lead game from 1994-2001. They were the top NFL announcing team on CBS for 13 seasons before that.
Known for his folksy style and his love of football's grit and grime, Madden has won 14 Sports Emmys.
The former Oakland Raiders coach — he led them to a win over Minnesota in the 1977 Super Bowl — has become a pop-culture phenomenon thanks in large part to the popularity of his video game "Madden NFL Football." Since its initial release in 1989, the game has sold more than 43 million copies and become the No. 1 selling sports video game of all time.
NBC is reportedly paying $600 million for a six-year contract that will allow the network to broadcast the NFL's Sunday night game starting with the 2006 season. The Sunday night game was previously shown on ESPN, which will now televise the Monday night game.
NBC also gets two first-round playoff games and the Super Bowl in 2009 and 2012 as part of the deal.

I think he meant to say
]"John Madden is the best comedian in the history of the National Football League and, in my opinion, the best comedian of any kind in sports television history,"'

It's like this, guys: No matter who they put in the booth, we're not going to like him. Why? Because they don't make those hires based on what appeals to the hardcore fan. They know that we're generally going to watch no matter what. They make those hires based on who appeals the people that don't know the game, need somebody to explain it to them in layman's terms, and can show a little personality in doing so. Their job is to say, "This is what you just saw." We already know what the hell we just saw so, like I said, nobody put in that booth is going to be a guy that we like.
Love him or hate, there's no denying that John Madden is exceptionally good at what he does.

He's been an icon for years for the NFL. He seems to be going downhill a little these last few years not unlike the other guys that have been around for ever (Enberg and others) but I can still listen to him. I have a HARD time listening to Theisman ranting.
