Im going to get him in a trade, not for very much. Where do they have him rumored to be traded too? If he stays will he get better in the second half of the year? Im getting him as a back up but it would be nice if he returned to his old self. Thoughts?

The Rockies would love to trade him to anyone who'll take on his contract. His health is a constant issue, he certainly hasn't been the same since coming back from knee surgery.

I haven't heard any rumors about possible destinations, but someone desperate for a bat might go for him around the trade deadline. I would think that it'd be an AL team that could DH him.

If you're getting him for next to nothing, that's fine. But I wouldn't give anything of value for him. Enjoy.

Well sportsline said he could be traded soon and I know he has been playing better after he got that brace off his knee. I think he will be worth the risk but really I hope that I never have to put him in the starting lineup.

If you have the bench space, he's worth starting at home (until they deal him). His value will plummet if he gets traded, though. He'll probably hit the waiver wire in most roto leagues because he'll be death to your batting average. Go snag Ryan Church as a free agent instead.

I'm in a point league so he isn't doing that bad. BA and that other crap don't count so Im not too worried about that. I thought about Church and I still may pick him up as well but Wilson to me seems to be getting better late but I could be wrong.

You're a better judge as to a player's value in points leagues than I am, so strongly suggest you follow your best instincts. Mookie's kid has kind of bounced on and off the waiver wire in most of my leagues all year. I've grabbed him for a home series here and there, he does seem to be getting healthier. He's also not that far removed from a 140 RBI season.

On a side note Randy Johnson got up to 97 mph today and he shutout the Cards. If he gets going like last year I going to be a happy man. I have Santana and Colon as well. Pitching is my strong point with Morris, Bonderman, Webb, Gagne, Lowe (who I will trade for Wilson), and Bedrad on the IR.

I'm trying to deal the Unit in one league and this couldn't have come at a better time. I think this was a flashback and not indicative of a true rebirth. Could be wrong, though. The guy has been a genuine freak up to this point.

IMO, Lowe is way too much for Wilson, especially since you have no idea where Preston will be dealt.

Well I like Lowe but whe I start him he gets killed I don't start him he gets the win. It hasn't been accepted yet and I am thinking about it. As far as the Unit goes I would hold him if I was you. Its starting to warm up and his fastball will stay at 97 and that makes his 88 mph slider so hard to hit. I tried to trade him and Andrew Jones to the guy Im playing this week and he rejected it. Im glad that the both of them went off today vs him. It makes me laugh.

Any guess to what team would take a chance on him? I would hate for him to go to Tampa or something like that. What about the Tigers? He would be a step up from Craig Monroe wouldn't he?

Nationals GM Jim Bowden was reportedly coveting Wilson but I think their outfield is fine with Brad Wilkerson, Jose Guillen and Slap's boy Ryan Church.

I think Wilson will still hit for pop if he's traded. He had a two HR day on the road last week. Like Slap alluded to, his average will be a killer away from 5280 feet and he's no longer a steals threat.

Wilk's arm problem has me very concerned. I'm trying to package him in various deals right now, too.

Wilky's power has been sapped. I was excited about seeing his encore to his 32 HR season last year and he hasn't hit a home run since April. After his hot start out of the gate, he's been one of my bigger disapointments. I know its not his fault though. I have the utmost respect for him as a ballplayer. What kind of value do you think you can get in return for Wilky?

In a one for one trade, not much. He's always been underrated and most people are aware he's playing hurt.

I just offered Unit and Wilk for Beltran, but I doubt they'll accept the deal.

I cannot believe the goddamn lowball offers I get for Ichiro. Pathetic three-for-one offers comprised of waiver bait or straight up for guys waiting for the clock to strike midnight like Dontrelle.

Tell you what if Wilson can keep up what he did today then I will be a happy man. 2 hr's and yesterday he has a SB.

I've always had a problem with Wilson, because I have problems with players who strike out constantly.

Even the big power hitters like Thome, Griffey, Sosa etc. who will go 1-4 in a game, the one hit being a HR and the 3 outs being K's, just bugs me to death about players that K a lot.

Wasn't it Wilson who, back when he played for Florida, was pulled from games and sat near the end of the season because he was on the verge of breaking the K's in a season record? Torborg, Marlins' manager at the time, kept him out of games because he would've broken it had he played fully in all of Florida's remaining games.

Who are you giving up for Mr. Wilson?

Edit: nevermind, just read that it's Lowe.

Well I guess Im not getting him after all. The other guy said no to the trade after he we both had it worked out. Oh well, Randy Wolf just went down for him and so did Beltre. His back up third baseman is Chipper and he maybe down for the year. He has one back up pitcher and he is a waiver wire guy. He is my friend in all but I won't trade with him again after this. Its funny because he will have to drop people when the others start coming back and he has Floyd, Huff, Bonds, Ordonez on the bench and no other position player help.

I definitely wouldn't trade with that guy if you both agreed to a trade and he reneg'd. If he's not willing to deal Wilson for Lowe for a straight up 1-1 trade...and on top of that, he's holding onto Bonds/Ordonez/Chipper/Beltre/Wolf.....he's probably going to start complaining when his team falls to last place.

That's a good thing for you considering you were giving up Derek Lowe for him.

I like Lowe I really do but I could have used the depth at outfield. Oh well he's down to 5 pitchers (plus closer) now. I forgot he also has Lance B taking up roster space as well.

Screw Preston Wilson, now. Ryan Shealy just got called up after tearing up triple A pitching. Let's hope his bat stays hot.

The Devil Rays just tattooed Randy Johnson tonight:

3.0 INN, 8 HA, BBI, 3 K, 7 ER, 21.000 ERA, 3.000 WHIP

This is not the Big Unit of old. We'll only see brief flashes of that guy from here on out.

Hey, I thought once the weather warmed up Randy would make a run at Hershisers 59 innings record. Well atleast they have Jaret Wright.

I saw just about every inning of Hershiser's streak and I still don't believe it happened.

I was at the game at the Murph when he set the record. If memory serves the Madres came back to win the game late.
