View Full Version : How much do you love the Broncos?

I dont know if anyone listened to Mark and Lou yesterday on the fan but a cowboys fan took a picture of Emmit. The cowboys ended up using the picture on alot of merchandise...so the man that took the picture sued the cowboys. Dallas paid him 275,000 and baned him for life from texas stadium. The question they were talking about was.....what price would you have to be paid to not be able to be a fan of your favorite team.

So the question is.....what would you have to be paid to not be able to be a broncos fan???...no more going to games....or tv.... or newpaper...no orangemane!

However much it cost me to buy my own team.....couple of hundred million should do it.

If the Broncos gave me $10,000 I would never go to another game... I could still watch them on TV right??

Beantown Bronco

no tv, reading papers or logging on to the 'mane....according to original post's situation.

$275,000 should do it. Could I be a fan of another team that plays Denver all the time.

For $275,000 they can ban me from Invesco. Happily. Despite what your question asks, it appears that the guy can still watch them on TV and follow them. I doubt the Cowboys put a ban on him completely.

In truth, there's no way to even ban him from the stadium. He can always buy tickets through a broker. There's no way a ticket taker at the stadium would know who he is, probably even if he told them his name on the way in.

There's just no way to really enforce such a ban.

I'd take, like, 4 cents to not be a Bronco fan. Hell, or best offer.

That aside, going back to the story that spawned this: The decision to ban that guy is a straight up b*tch move by the Cowboys. They took his photograph, used it without his permission, and made lots of money off of it... so they're doing nothing but being a$$holes on account of him (rightfully) calling them on it in banning him from the stadium.

This thread is hypothetical. How much money would you take to stop being a Bronco fan? To stop visiting the message boards and to stop watching them on TV.

Not true, not everyone has a price as that is what creates character to begin with. by your logic you would be saying that you can be bought off to give up anything includiing your family ( if you have one ). im very old school when it comes to loyalty in my life so no matter how much 275,000 would help my situation today im just not a sell out like that. :Broncos:

I'd take a few hundred grand and just continue to watch them on TV. No prob. Whenever they play the Eagles in Philly I see them there. Even Baltimore aint that far. Pay off the mortgage and put the kid thru college. yeah baby. :)

Speaking of college my boy just graduated high school with honor roll all 4 yrs and has been expected to the Univ. of Del. Starts in the fall. I'm a proud papa. :) He's gonna take Computer Sciences.

And I would also do that knowing full well they aint gonna keep me from getting into the stadium anyhow. What, are they gonna have armed guards at all the entrances all holding a pic of me? please. I would cause to much of a stink and turn it into a big media thing. :)

I agree with you, TNS. Not about that first part though. :D

The whole Cowgirls organization just made themselves look like a bunch of jackasses....which we already knew they were anyway.

Btw, how's the no smoking going?

This is a tough question to answer because what's to stop people from cheating? Sure, give me a million and I'll say I'm not a fan. Then just watch it on TV. I guess the only way it could work is if they some how make you want to not be a Broncos fan. Like, they mess with your mind or something.

I don't think I'd have a price, because at some point in life I'm going to be rich. Working smart will get me there.

What I was saying was in fact the opposite. I was thinking about what you could do for your family with that money if you had one.

What I was saying has nothing to do with character....or maybe it does, just not the way you think. For example, what is character? Accepting someone's offer to pay off your kids' education, pay off your car loans and mortgage, and give you enough money to provide for your family for the rest of their lives, if you just promise not to go to any more Broncos games in person? Or is character possibly not being able to pay for your kids' education, living paycheck to paycheck and working till you're 70 because social security is so screwed up; yet your "character" says you can't change all this because you need to stay a fan of a team (one that could really care less about you)?

I just couldn't understand someone in this particular case saying that they don't have a price. Maybe if they had no friends or family left and nobody else could benefit from this money, fine, that would be your decision because the team was in fact the only thing you had in life. Otherwise, character dictates you help those around you if it means trading away a selfish vice.

Eh since i only go to Invesco every 2 years, i'd say i'd take 100 Gs to ban me from the stadium. But for me to stop watching them would be more money than Bill Gates has. I love the Broncos!

What if that person is already independently wealthy? Or what if they are of a faith that rejects materialism? Or what if they think their kids ought to work for whatever they get in life?

Just playing Devil's advocate here...

as God is my witness, there is no amount of money that would make me stop watching the broncos.
now i couldnt tell my wife that, but its the truth.

i want money as much as anyone else, but i want the broncos more.

i wouldnt trade my wife or my son for any amount of money, and i wont trade the broncos either.

after my family and close friends, the broncos are the most important thing in my life.

May be speaking to soon but he seems pretty dedicated and has chilled on other regular teenage activiteis to possibly do it. I love our chances :)

Nobody values money more than happiness.

Lack of $ is the #1 reason for unhappy marriage and divorce. Money can bring education and opportunity where there was no hope for any. Too many people say money can't bring happiness. Why can't it?

Money can bring happiness when used responsibly.

Couldn't have said it better myself bro!

Ever since I moved from Denver when I was 3, I have missed that place so much. Everytime I go there, I get the biggest adrenaline rush you could ever imagine. You couldn't pay me enoguh to not be able to see the Broncos.

How can you possibly have any idea what my priciples are much less disparage me for what you perceive them to be? My principles make me willing to sacrifice myself for others. They allow me to stand up for what I believe in rather than being a coward. Don't tell me I'm being selfish just cause I don't agree with you. Get to know me personally before you try to shove disrespect down my throat.

I'd have to say 250 million dollars.

I did the calculations, taking into account inflation, and time until I die (average age by then should be about 80 for white male americans) and 250 million dollars is what I would need to ball for the rest of my life.

And Im not saving **** for the kids. Spending it all before I die.
