12. Champ Bailey, CB, Broncos: It's chic to rip on Bailey when seeing him get beat for a touchdown. Well, he's in man coverage a lot more than most corners. He's going to get beat. I'd still take him over any other corner in the game.
45. Al Wilson, LB, Broncos: Wilson is a tenacious force in the middle of the Denver defense. If he had bigger people in front of him, he'd be even better.
Top 50 players: Can't deny titled Brady anymore (http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/story/8545074/1)

I see about 25 players we could of drafted. Oh, the 20/20 hindsight is kicking in.
One player I wanted so bad I was kicking and screaming was Shaun Rodgers. We got fatass now, so we are looking better, but I can't remember who it was, we had traded up in the draft a few spots and I said to myself...We are getting Rodgers...can't remember if it was Middlebrooks or Deltha, but I was literally astounded.
To say we haven't had some headscratching early picks would be an understatement.
One player that I think will finally break out for us will be Lelie this year...I read somewhere he's working on more intermdiate routes. I got so tired of him endlessly running fly patterns. Yes, it clears the field for Rod and Putz, but Lelie needs to become more of complete player. I blame the playcalling for some of it as well. It seemed like too many times we chucked the ball up deep to Lelie only to wind up with a second and 10.
I see they are still praising Ray Ray the Slasher like it's 2000. Al Wilson isn't that far behind him IMO. Lewis had alot of protection in front of him in his hayday, and he's certainly not worth the Bling Bling he's crying for.

I was thinking the same thing, Mock.
I think his teammate Ed Reed should be ahead of him.

Clinton Portis at #11 and the 2nd highest RB up there next to LaDainian Tomlinson.
Portis can get his due, but 11th best in the league and 2nd best RB in the league? They couldn't find a better RB at #11 than someone with a 3.8 YPC and 2 TD's last year?

Okay so that puts champ as the #1 corner and big al the #3 linebacker (#2 MLB) on this list. There wasnt much i could argue with... except tom brady even being on the list.

Well said of Champ: This list appears a year dated.
Ray Lewis, Shockey, Pace, Portis are too high ...
Gates and Hines Ward are too low ...
Hey Bob, your boy Sutain is ranked 44 and that's playing behind a GOOD defense.

Where's the love for Ian Gold?
You have to give Portis some slack because that offense is dated back to John Riggins, but #11 is too high. Hell, Droughns had almost as many yards, and he was backing up Bell and Q.

I have an odd feeling the Putz might break out this year as well. Rod will probably decline a bit, but we expect that, he just hasn't cooperated.
I'm still not sold on Watts till I see him perform at a level higher than Division 2.

This makes the Bailey/Portis trade look like an even trade. When Tater breaks out it will make it look lopsided.

On that original list there were 6 Ravens. They can be the best team in the league if they had a QB.

i forget what show i was watching or mabey it was an article that called all wison a second tier player, it might even have been posted on this site somewhere. But being if the #3 ranked middle linebacker is a second tier player there must be a damn fine line between first and second tier. whatever thought always good to see wilson getting well deserved credit.

Wilson isn't a second tier player.
The media just loves sucking Ray Ray's balls. It's actually amusing.
Call it the Madden effect.
If Wilson is ranked as the second or third best MLB, what does that make the other 29 MLB's?
TheReverend

No... hes #2 MLB, #3 LB... they have an OLB higher than him here... and I posted the second tier article it was from sporting news.

I predict Portis won't make the list in 2006. He's living off his production in Denver. Ladell Betts had a better YPA than Portis last year.

I predict Portis won't make the list in 2006. He's living off his production in Denver. Ladell Betts had a better YPA than Portis last year.
He still ran for almost 1300 yards and has averaged over 1400 in his career. He has great speed and moves and he will always be a top fifty player.

I agree Shockey doesn't belong on this list but Gates had a tremendous year and really set the standards for what good tight ends can bring to an offense.

Gates: 81 964 11.9
Shocky (rookie season): 74 894 12.1
Heap ( 2 seasons ago): 68 836 12.3
The most productive seasons by each player, pretty comparable I think, and Gates isn't going to surprise anyone next year.

Good list
Ray Lewis is NOT overrated. He just won DMVP right before his teammate did. The man was leading the league in tackles before he sat out the final game of the year. Even on his "so called" off year he played better than 99% of the LB's. Can you really say somebody is slipping after having 1 off year?He can't win DMVP every year.
