What's your take? This seems to be the hot topic on the radio and TV, about the watch-ability of this year's Finals.
My take: Hey, I'm a Nuggets fan, and I realize that run-n-gun is a lot of fun to watch. I can totally appreciate that. However, with these two teams, every basket counts so much. Just because they score in the 80's and not the 120's doesn't make it boring. When they score in the 80's, for me at least, I'm on the edge of my seat, because especially when it comes down to the last couple of minutes, any given basket could potentially win the game with how these teams play defense.
If you're looking for stars, well, you're out of luck. But, IMO, I think this is going to be a great series for basketball fans. Some casual fans might be turned off, but I also think some will still enjoy it.
Thoughts?

I will be on the edge of my seat. I am a defensive minded person and can really appreciate the game even though the teams will not be putting up 120 points. Defense is not appreciated in football and definitely not in Basketball. All I care about is close games where guys are playing hard. In football I am in the minority but I would rather watch a real strategic 10-7 win then a 45-33 win game. Just how I am though. This is the finals I have wanted since the beginning of the season. Go Detroit.

Entertaining. I rarely find a championship game or series I find uneventful. This will be a good series though.

Yup, same here. But in my mind as long as "the Hack formerly known as Shaq", is out of contention, I really dont have a favorite.
I'd like to see San Antonio win it just so the Nugs could say they were beaten out by a champion, but I would not be against seeing Larry Brown and Billups take a back-to-back title. And besides, if it gets the Detroit faithful to burn down their city again, well hey... BONUS

I think the spurs are reasonably heavily favored in vegas, not sure though. the spurs own a very good record against the pistons and when they play them what it looks like is the spurs can shut the pistons down, the pistons can shut the spurs down, but duncan can still score. spurs win.
ben wallace is one of my fav players though so Im rooting for the pistons.

This should be a great series. The past two champs slugging it out.
I get tired of the 'no stars' comments about these teams. You have to wonder if those people even watch the games. Duncan is probably the best player of his era, Ginobili is one of the top 5 most entertaining players in the NBA, Detroit has Wallace, Wallace, Billups, Rip and Prince. If this was NY vs. Lakers, the media would be hyping this as the greatest matchup since Lakers/Celtics.

No stars? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot..that's retarded. I mean the media has done evrything in it's power to cosmically beat down the Pistons...."Dwayne Wade is the next Jordon"...or reporting constantly that their coach is going to leave....yadda yadda...no stars...LMAO....both wallace's...Tim Ducan...Nobi...I guess since the pussy team from LA...or O'neal didn't make the cut...this series is going to be a real downer...get frick outta here.......

Being I'm a Pistons fan this will be a nice series. Pistons in 7. I'm just glad we prevented that punk Alonzo Mourning and the rest of those flavor clowns on the Heat from getting a ring. Once they showed Randy Moss and Ray Lewis attending that game, I knew the Pistons HAD to win it. What is it with clowns flocking together? Shaq goes to Miami and all of a sudden you see these Celeb bangwaggon fans coming outta the woodwork. Makes me sick.

Haven't watched an NBA game in almost a decade now. Won't watch one in the next decade either.
Bulls in 5, right?

You bring up very good points, and I didn't mean to diminish the players who were out there playing. Tim Duncan is the best player on the planet, and the players you mentioned were very talented as well. Love the Wallace Duo, love Tayshaun Prince... Manu can really ball, and Tony Parker just outplayed the so-called NBA MVP in every single game...
But, with that said, to the casual fan, there isn't the flashy, true, superstar... Duncan comes close, but he's too good (i.e., plays the game the right way) to be a real draw to the casual fan, IMO.
Spurs in 7... It'll be close... both teams will have chances to win.

parker did not outplay nash. nash can't defend, ppl know this. nash was amazing offensively and hit clutch shots, made great passes. while of course marion/quentin were holding their dicks. atleast stoudemire came to play too.

I think Pistons will win it in 6....but the Spurs aren't slouches.
