Chipper Jones has been hobbled by a foot injury and the Braves placed him on the 15 day DL today.
3B Andy Marte was called up from Richmond (AAA) and he might be the best hitting prospect in baseball. He's only 21 years young and he's a very polished hitter at the plate. One of the reasons why the Braves have won consecutive division titles since 1991 is their farm system continues to replenish the big league club with blue chip talent. Hopefully, the Braves can find a way to get Chipper and Marte in the lineup at the same time because Brian Jordan and Ryan Langerhans aren't getting the job done at the corner outfield spots.
