Hey, I was wondering if any of you guys are having a problem with limewire? I start it up and it opens and all, but the screen stays white and you can't see anything on it. I goto task manager to see if it is not responding but it is running fine. It just started doing it today after running fine for a few weeks now. I haven't changed any settings or done anything in Windows. Any help would be great.

Or if you know of any other P2P software that doesn't have any spyware feel free to list it here. Thanks.

Bittorrent is way to slow. I was downloading from Limewire at over 200KB/sec. That was great for a P2P program.

Damn thing is just acting funny now. Ah well.

Bittorrent is plenty fast if you know how to configure your ports.

Limewire doesn't have a quarter of the selection of files you can get from torrents across the web.

If you want music, Soulseek's your ticket. Video or software, I turn to the torrent. I download music a hell of a lot more often than anything else.

can someone give a link to soulseek? It seems like there are a million different sites offering it, I want to get the right one, preferably a clean one.

Funny a guy with what a billion dollars and hes DL'ing music for free. This is coming from someone that just shelled out 36 million dollars for 220 pounds worth of GOLD.

I'll stop paying for gold the day that I learn how to download it for free.

Actually, though... To tell you the truth, the more I listen to it, the less I like it. They just never recaptured what they had with the Blue album. It's definitely a listenable album though, worth some time in the rotation...

I'm downloading the new White Stripes, some old Nick Drake stuff, the recent P.O.S album, and some Patrick Wolf.

Bob, just shut up allready. My ports configuations don't have anything to do with my bittorrent speeds. Also, Limewire had every single selection that I searched for. Thank you, but just shut it.

No I don't think it's their server. It might be time for a reformat. I haven't done that in nearly three years.

My brother got me onto him. You should download Drake's cover of Dylan's "Don't think twice, it's all right", or Bryter Layter.

I've allready done that twice. I might have to roll back windows and see if it works. I might have disabled something that it needs. It's no biggie really.

I know if you don't have your ports configured properly, bittorrent won't work properly. By your admission that bittorrent is "too slow," you don't have it configured correctly.

Yeah that's gotta be it. I don't have my ports configured correctly. It can't just be slow. No way in hell can bittorent just be slow most of the time. Naw, that can't be it. Uhh

Dude, it was slow for me until I opened the correct ports. I regularly get speeds over 100k/sec.

You're just not using it properly. It's OK. Limewire is for less advanced users, so its great for you!

Wow 100k/sec? Yeah I got that sometimes. But I never get the 200-300k/sec like I do with LimeWire.

Also, I have the correct ports opened. You have no idea of what I know when it comes to the IT world, or just computers in general. So take your holierthanthou self, and eat your own áss.

Yeah, my eyes must be lying to me. That 100k/sec on bittorent is really better than the 200-300 I get on LimeWire.

Go to bed Bob.

I hate to do this. I think you could do it with any of these but I need to set it up fast, quick and dirty. I need to download as much music in two days as I can. Rather than start a fire fight here. Anyone want to PM with possible fast fixes? I want to collect Jazz, Blues, classical, Flamenco and Alternative (anything) I have a ton of metal, country, and hip hop. I want to find the hard to find stuff.

Thanks in advance...

Well before I leave.

I happen to have fixed it. It was a conflict with another program. No biggie. But anyway, continue to think you know it all, and I will continue to laugh at you.

The RIAA doesn't care about Limewire.
