William Green - RB - Browns

William Green continues to impress Browns brass with his work this offseason.
Green may very well beat out Reuben Droughns for the backup running back job. GM Phil Savage on Green, ''William Green has been absolutely opposite of what expectations were. He’s done a terrific job in the weight room. He’s working hard. He’s at the practices. If he continues to do what he’s doing, I feel certain he’ll be part of our team this year.'' So we traded Reub to them for EE and Myers and Reub may end up being the third string back. I bet the sports writers will still think we got the shaft on that trade.

They get a guy who had 8 sacks last year for their Fullback/Running back/System back (who they've proven time and again they can replace with little to no dropoff in production), yet they got the short end of the deal? Me thinks not.

Don't they always tell us how awesome William Green is gonna be, and then he ends up hurt or in trouble?

If this turns out to be true though, it would be funny :D

Now that is funny. Just goes to show you how good our Oline and schemes are when it comes to running the ball.

im pulling for reuben. Altough it would prove we got the better end of the deal...

a little off topic---i really appreciate what reuben did for us. He was a team guy, and was always very good with the media and fans. I live in minnesota, but drive all the way down to kansas city every year to catch a game, and i always greet the players in the hotel....reuben always took pictures, and gave autorgraphs to everyone who wanted one. Class act.

i want to see him win the job in cleveland

I’d like to pull for Rueben too. Deep down I think he’s probably a really good guy. Unfortunately I can’t wish him the best because of a little conflict of interest.
That agent of his, Drew Rosenhaus, needs to fail miserably. He’s some sort of weasel/vulture superhybrid.
That guy can take hard working, team players and turn them into ego driven glory hounds. And when he gets someone who’s already ego driven… that’s when he can really work his magic (I’m thinking of one university in particular).
The sad thing is it probably doesn’t matter too much to him if Reuben fails. He’s taken his cut of the new contract and will just move on to the next developing young star. I just hope some of the players will learn from this situation and that eventually he won’t be able to poach from the Broncos.

Heck I am all for Reuben getting his. We all know that he was never more than a utility running back. He had the good fortune of injuries and running for the Broncos. Timing is everything and this was gonna be his one chance to get a pay day. He is a nice guy and I am glad for him. He knew that was the only year he was gonna get this chance so he cashed it in.
