PFT will love this!
Its just another camp body, why not. Bring him in. He could probably beat out the others.

Couldn't hurt. When healthy, he's got a nice arm. Give him the vet minimum and see if he can do anything. If not, we won't have lost anything.

It would be funny to be able to say we can put together the all-bust team.

I bet alot of teams will "invite" Couch to camp... why not? What is an invitation anyway except a way to say "Our camp is open for competition and every position is up for grabs."

I can already see PFT's comment on this tomorrow in their news items bit
From Playboy Mansion to The Island of Misfit Toys, former Browns QB Tim Couch decline continues as he gets invite to join Shanny's Turd-A-Thon.
Couch to Rice...............ya I can see it now.

As pathetic as it sounds, I don't think he'll beat out Danny Kanell.

Waste of time to bring him in. Cuts the reps other guys need, takes coaching time away from other guys.

Like those two winners Mauck and BVP? Or do you mean that UDFA we picked up that will never take a pro snap?

Yeah, those guys. They have more potential than Tim Couch.

Thats funny considering Mauck, BVP and the new guy have taken ZERO regular season pro snaps, so we must be judging potential from their college careers.
Heisman and #1 overall, or 7th round compensation picks?
You've clearly won me over... how did I miss the potential?

Deltha goes long and snags a TD!

and some here would start talking about Couch's "future" here, just like they do with Nate Jackson, BVP and all the other camp fodder when they're signed to contracts. Hell, Aaron Hunt gets threads here despite no one but Hamilton actually doing something when he comes back to the Broncos from Europe.

I don't know how you miss potential, you tell me.
What I'm saying is Couch isn't going to help, there's no question about that. The other guys like BVP and the UDFA have some potential, and in order to realize that, they need reps and coaching attention that will be wasted with Couch.
BVP has decent height and is a stud athlete, a natural football player, maybe he'll develop into something. Mauck is too short, I'm just not seeing him develop long-term.

I wouldn't worry too much about Danny Kanell. The Broncs are lucky to have him. And BVP also. The UDFA has a long way to go, but just being 6'6 is an advantage if he doesn't get overwhelmed by the jump he's trying to make. He'll definitely have to be mentally-tough enough to shrug off all the ragging he'll get if he makes the team.

Its because theres pretty articles about them in Denverbroncos.com
Im OPTIMISTIC about Hunt and potentially having a roster spot, but Nate and BVP, I can safely say, will never see the productive side of the field or crack a starting lineup.
People go homer on them, and then rag on Shanny and decent starters like Hamilton, Plummer, Lelie, Gold etc.
Camp Fodder is right... BVP, Mauck and UDFA are garbage. Im not saying Couch is much better, but he has pro experience and it cant hurt.

PS. Shannahan does work well with QB's. It could be another case of the Browns staff and scheme failing the player...

I've heard that before somewhere. Shanny does have some good offensive ideas. He and Kubiak need to get them to work on the field. Maybe this year is the year.
I was impressed last year how Shanny tried some new things with the O coaching staff. Moving Kubiak into the booth, then moving him out later in the season. It showed me he was willing to shake things around a little. What I want to see this year is an offense that CLICKS ON ALL CYLINDERS!
I don't want to see an offense that reaches for immortality, but can't execute precisely for more than 5 consecutive plays. Put an O on the field that can execute precisely 5-10-15-20 plays. Don't reach for 300 precise plays - it doesn't work with mere mortals suiting up.
