I have a Model 12 around here somewhere. I have some buckshot somewhere, and I definetly have some slugs.

I don't even know where my shotgun is.

It's oiled up and ready to kill, but I'm not a killer.

I'm not interested in killing people. I have never fired it.

I don't even shoot ducks. I like ducks.

They are kinda cute.

Ducks are totally amusing. I can't shot them.

I can eat fish tho...crappie is tasty, and i can fry them like a pro.

I don't even know where my gun is.

It's just in case.

Actually I know exactly where my slingshot pump Gun 12 gauge is.

I have never shot her once tho.

Last time I killed a deer I cried like a baby.

I don't mind catching fish, but I'm not a hunter.

My Model 12 is just for emergency.

Mock's Model 12 can tell you what you had for breakfast.

She isn't to be handled lightly.

Dude! is that a gun with a silencer? thats a nice arsenal there Alec.
No, silencers are illegal Anubis. I dont own any. Ahem.

I have zero of those guns anymore. Well I have some of the guns I had at the time i took that picture but none of them were there that day.

I have an AR-15, M-98 Sniper rifle (I want the .50 cal...maybe when I win the lottery I can get one), 9mm Beretta, 9mm S&W, .380 S&W, two shotguns, one a 12 gauge, the other a 10 gauge both remington DUs, 30/30 and I am currently in the market for an HK 7.62 mm sniper. I almost bought a russian made ak-47 two weeks ago but whats the point if I cant have it fully automatic?

My goal is to get 5 handguns, 5 shotguns, 5 sniper rifles, 5 hunting rifles, and 5 assault rifles. Then I will be done.

The funny thing, i dont really like shooting them that much. I just like the way they look. For protection around the house, I got a bat with nails in it. My reasons for buying guns have nothign to do with self defense. Im more of a collector. Certain guns hold a certain prestige to me. The Beretta is the most popular handgun in the world and made by one of the best handgun manufacturer's in the world. But what is significant is that Beretta, during WWII, an Italian company keep in mind, REFUSED to make weapons for the Axis powers. Their facilities were bombed and raided, yet they did succumb. The 9 mm went on to become one of the most standardized handguns in all the world in police departments and militaries. Smith and Wesson make my favorite gun of all (though I do not have it) a stainless .45 with a black rubber grib. The gun is just imposing.

My shotguns I have because, well, my family is big on hunting and though Im not a fan myself, I do have to go on mandatory excursions from time to time. And since it is in itself its own category of firearm, I want to get five really nice ones.

Sniper rifles are by far my favorite weapons. So deadly, so nasty, and in the hands of a highly trained marksman, one of the most deadly weapons in the world. The M-98 I fell in love with because of the intimidating sound it makes when fired. Few standard sniper rifles are louder or more powerful (again save your bigger, military class rifles). The 7.62mm sniper rifle is the most accurate sniper rifle that I am aware of, especially those made in former eastern bloc countries.

The little .380 I have was the first gun I ever fired and has sentimental value for me. Started my whole hobby up. The AR-15 was bought from my friend who decided to get rid of all his guns and this was his favorite gun so I bought it so that he could still take it to the firing range when he felt the fancy.

Wasn't Luger the standard-bearer for 9mm chambering? I'd like to have a Luger, but the costs keep going up and up.

My favorite is my old S&W .357 magnum. That's a show-stopper with hollow-points. It's a revolver so there is absolutely no chance for seizing up. You just have to make sure your six chances aren't wasted. I only use it to bear-proof myself. Or peckerwood-proof myself. Bear country and peckerwood country are intersecting these days, unfortunately.

My .38 S&W Chief's Special is a nice lightweight pistol. I don't trust automatics at all, although I do have a 9mm S&W. I'd like to have a Luger, that's an auto I think has a more reliable action.

Mostly I like how the Luger looks. I'm a collector, too, not a target-shooting nut. I have a few rifles also, but the only weapon I fire regularly is the .357. I have to keep firing that 'cause it's so difficult to hit what you're aiming at. Every spring I have to get used to it again.

I prefer a .44 Ruger Vacquero for bear proofing. Most of the guys in Alaska think that is nuts. Anything but a shotgun in their opinion is just stupid. If you ever get a chance to go fishing in Alaska you'll never forget it. I have a friend there who taught me a lot about bears and they are scary monsters up there to be sure. Alaskan bears are different than Colorado bears from what I see. The Alaskans have a totally different idea about bears than the lower 48. I think a .44 is fine for where I go. The mountains aren't what they used to be.

I don't know how many swords or various blades that I have but there are a lot. I prefer Chinese, Indonesian, or primitive swords. All my swords are sharp and I demonstrate them. I practice a lot of stuff with sticks and staff but it overlaps with bladework. I was working on creating my own swords for a time but the materials are cost prohibitive. I can't seem to find a guy who can do the Butterfly Swords the traditional way. I prefer tool steel or this mysterious steel this guy gets when he is making custom blades for me. I miss my butterfly knives.

My Japanese swords cost about $1,500 for the set but I don't have to reload them and can actually practice rope cutting to gather more skill. I prefer the indo stuff and the Kukrhi is my favorite blade. I have one that I keep with me. If you ever go camping you can pick one up for $18.00 from www.cheaperthandirt.com. Even a basic one is better than a camp axe. You can throw it and it hits really hard. The kukrhi I have now was given to me by a Gurkha on his way home. It's a $60.00 blade.

www.coldsteel.com is a great place to get started with real swords. They aren't the best but they are cheap. The quality has come down but if you want to cut through something instead of being embarrassed check them out.

If you want reccommends on blades, knives, steel...just PM me. I'll be happy to help. If you are in Colorado there is a guy who teaches how to become knifemakers. I think he teaches at Mesa Community College right now.

EDIT: I can't seem to find a cheap one anywhere but they run about $20.00 -I used to see them here http://www.sportsmansguide.com/ -- This is a camping superstore of sorts but there are a LOT of trinkets and trash. If it's a good idea gone bad this guy probably has it.

Well them things called Alaskan Brown bears are, guess what? Grizzly bears.

What's the official botanist name for the Grizzly Bear? Correct answer is : "Ursus Horribilis". Ursus Horribilis? Man, that fits. Apt name, Vaquero .44, aka Quiettiger.

The .357 is a show-stopper. I have utmost confidence in it. It will stop anything you can hit with your 6 chances. If you've ever fired a .357 just the kick it gives you should convince you it has god-awful stopping power.

The Alaska guys prefer a scatter-gun? That may be fine for them, but I can't carry a rifle/shotgun while hiking or fishing. That Ruger you speak of is a revolver also, I see. That's definitely in the show-stopper/bear-proofer realm.

I'm going to have to check out Ruger. I'm an S&W guy, but I like fine weapons of any kind.

You can't see my fishing guide's place unless you have an invite. You bring a case of whiskey, get a wet plane, fly in and stay until he's sick of you or you've done all the chores he can think of. He's in bush pilot country and it's like something out of a dream.

He described a time when he went into his garage and found an old toothless Grizzly in his yard rooting through trash. He said he had to go find it the next day and kill it or it was just going to keep coming back because it's too old to hunt for itself and would just get meaner as time passes. I think he shoots slug but he seemed to vary what he shot. He's had to take care of a bear or two and when he describes them it puts a chill in your bones realizing how difficult it is to hunt some of those old nasty grizzlys. Nature is seldom co-operative or kind. I though AK47 was dependable but most them say no.

I have a 70 year old friend who still hunts bear but he uses only a compound bow. He says a bear will bob it's head down prior to standing up and attacking and he pops the arrow in it's skull. These are black bears and I've seen the skulls. I think he's killed most anything that the forest has to offer at one time. How the heck do you hunt turkey with a bow? This old bastige is really good.

I shot S&W and Taurus .357. I like both. .357 is a great load but I want to have a matched set with Marlin. The .44 is oddly enough not as hot as a .45 IMHO although you would think that it would be dead on. If you haven't tried .40 caliber it's a great round but you might not like the selection of handguns to pick from. Glock is too light. SigSauer is great if you get the price down. I haven't shot enough of the H&K. I like them but I would need to clean it a couple of times to see what it's about.

I had to get rid of my MP5 out here. If I ever get the chance to have that gun again. Holy man! It's only a .9mm but it's delicious!

You are right. There are a LOT of gun owners who I think need to take basic gun owner safety class. They don't know their weapon and are only interested in impressing someone with what they have. They make assumptions that in the back country will get you killed. I think all people should take a gun safety class regardless of whether you own a gun or not. People, gun owners and non gun owners, have the wrong idea about what a gun is for, how it is used and it can get pretty silly on both sides of this issue.

I'm sure we won't agree on this but that isn't the point. The whole guns are for killing issue means nothing to me as long as they make kitchen knives.

You can scare off a black bear with just yelling loud. Black bears on a bad day aren't that big of a deal unless you run into a momma bear. That can turn into a sad event no matter how it turns.
