Well you have to remember the raider Offense and D just got a whole lot better, on the flip side there unproven untill the season starts. The pats lost there cordinators and really did not get a whole lot better but they are the defending SB champs. I still had to go with my raiders it will be a good game.

Burgess an impact player. Yeah right. One good playoff game doesn't make you an impact player.

I think the key for the Raiders is to get to Brady. The Patriot o-line is one of the more underrated ones in the league. At this point in time, I don't see the Raider d-line beating the Patriot o-line. I also think the Patriots d-line has the advantage over the Raider o-line at this point.

Your beating your chest over a guy who has only had a few decent games throughout his career. A lot of teams have guys like that. What if I posted on your board "Watts will smoke that punk Washington. Putzier will blow by lead foot Schweigert and Gibson." I bet I would have some Faider fans on me about how Watts and Putzier still have to prove themselves and rightfully so. Same thing goes for Washington, Burgess, and the linebacker as well as Curry.

I still see Seymour, Wilfork, and Warren having the advantage over the Raider o-line at this point in time. I believe Vrabel and McGinnest also come up at the d-line in certain situations as well.

Hmmm... a Patriots fan registers an account on a Bronco message board and his first thread asks a question about the Oakland Raiders.

Yeah... he's obviously looking for an objective opinion...

Dudeskey

for a few reasons...

1) Yes, the Raiders have a great offense, but their defense blows. So expect a lot of carries from Dillon, thereby taking up time and keeping the Raiders offense off the field.

2) The Raiders sieve, I mean defense, again Dillon should have a real good game.

3) The Pats have a defense

Showtime is not a bad CB.

Yes, actually, he is. And I've been saying that since last year, so it isn't just sour grapes because he's gone. Buchanon has the athletic ability to every once in a while break on the ball and run to the endzone... but as a down after down cornerback, he sucks. A lot.

If you wern't happy With Buchanon then you won't be to happy with Washington. I find it hard to fear a team with Collins at QB as you do with Plummer I'm sure. Lets just say Collins scares me ten fold compared to Fabian. We thought Deltha would be good also. I had never seen Deltha play so that was a nasty surprise. I've seen Fabian play a lot.

You better hope so. Isn't Washington supposed to be a starter?

No, Washington is not expected to be a starter. The starters are expected to be Charles Woodson and Nnamdi Asomugha, with Fabian Washington battling Renaldo Hill for the nickel back spot.

As for the Buchanon/Washington comparison all I can say is that it remains to be seen. Living where I live, you KNOW that I've seen Washington play. Personally, I think the kid can play ball... but, then again, the aforementioned Philip Buchanon looked great in college, too...

We'll see.

Buchannon made a lot of big plays for the raiders. At least he had the balls to gamble and take chances. If he did not make a great play or interception he cost the raiders a huge play. If buchannon could grow up he would be very nasty.

Very true, I guess I should've read your user title. :). As long as Washington isn't expected to step right in as your starter I'm sure the kid will get acclimated just fine. I'm not sure who Asomugha is. Where did he go to school? I was just looking over some of Foxworth's workout numbers and was pretty blown away by them. Hope he can step in for Walls next season. Williams should be a fine returner.

Buchannon made a lot of big plays for the raiders.

Yeah... two years ago. And he gave up a hell of a lot more big plays than he ever made.

At least he had the balls to gamble and take chances.

It doesn't take balls to be wrong more often than you're right. Sure, it makes you a gambler... but it only makes you a bad one.

If he did not make a great play or interception he cost the raiders a huge play.

Precisely my point. The guy absolutely sucked in coverage. He made Johnny No-Name receivers look like they belonged in the same breath as Terrell Owens, Randy Moss, Marvin Harrison, and Tory Holt.

If buchannon could grow up he would be very nasty.

There's that, too. The guy is 5'9"... so I'd say he's got a LOT of "growing up" to do before he'll be a good matchup for today's bigger receivers. He got away with his lack of size at Miami... but those days are over.

Oh, wait... you meant "grow up" as in "if Buchanon would stop acting like a f***ing idiot"... frankly, I just don't see that happening. I've bought cheese that's smarter than Philip Buchanon. I've planted trees with more self-awareness than Philip Buchanon. I used to own a dog who was more well-spoken than Philip Buchanon... and the dog didn't bark, it just farted.

ozo - Nnamdi Asomugha went to school at Cal and the Raiders drafted him in the first round in 2003. He was one of the many "cornerback/safety" prospects that came out that year. He was 6'2", 213 when he was drafted, so it gives Oakland two big, physical cornerbacks (Woodson's obviously the other). Nnamdi has looked good in limited action, though he's had a bit of a propensity for injuries. He also wasn't helped at all by the fact that in his first year, Chuck Bresnahan couldn't decide if he wanted him to play corner or safety and it kind of screwed up his development for both, since he couldn't focus on just one...

I went with the Patriots, but after 3 SB's in 4 years, it's ahrd to root for them even when they are playing the Raiders.

Maybe they'll tie and the NFL will announce that there's a rule that states that that on September 8th each year, if there is a tie in the game that both teams will be given a loss instead.

Hey, I can dream at least, better than rooting for either team.
