What's up with the damn caps?
And also, I said in general. Obviously we have soccer fans in the US, but them losing a soccer game doesn't mean a thing really compared to team USA losing in basketball, or the USA baseball team losing.
More people care about us winning the Ryder cup in golf than they do a soccer game, USA vs. Mexico is probably the only "big" soccer game, and they own us so it's not like we even are that good at soccer.

It's not even covered on sportsnews.
BroncoBlue, understand this for the last time.
ESPN is covering womens softball.
Noone really gives a crap.
The only thing I could give a crap about soccer, it would be to beat the crap out of Iranians. With impunity.

The Champions League final on Wednesday between Liverpool and AC Milan was an amazing game, maybe the best soccer game I've ever seen. ESPN Classic has even broadcast it again as an instant classic.

We are apathetic because we suck.
Thats all.
If we were even halfway decent at soccer, we would be into it.

Bingo.
If the USA weren't perennial doormats, people would take notice. They sure did at the last World Cup when the Americans advanced to the round of 8 for the first time ever.......and then proceeded to go right back to their indifference when they were eliminated by the Germans.

I'd say they are guys who were too scared to play other sports, or their mommy's wouldn't let them.

I have no problem with soccer but the majority of fans at these games are just idiots. i cant count how many times there are severe tragedies at these events cause of total idiocy. its especially worse with the S. American teams. it gets just ridiculous at times.

Yeah, but we'd have to be into it to be halfway decent. If our top athletes played soccer we'd dominate the world in that sport.

Why should anyone possibly care about soccer? Even IF the US was any good, I doubt it would even make a blip on the radar screen. Booooooring!
I used to play soccer, and I still hate it.
Run around for an hour and the game is still 2-1. Whoopdee Freaking doo!

Soccer fans around the world are nuts. I've never seen a sport where the spectators take the game so seriously. You think WE'RE upset when the Broncos lose... zowie!

Mock put it best. They were showing woman's softball yesterday. That sums up what America thinks of soccer.
I bet if they scored more often in that game, it would satisfy the build-up of the fans and then you'd see fewer fires started in the stands, fewer flares thrown onto the field burning players, and fewer murdered teammates.

yeah...i might throw something at the wall, but i won't go riot and kill people. though i can see why the fans riot. they're looking for some excitment after watching grass grow for two hours.

when the flyers lost Game 7 to TB last year, i had recorded the game. i was so pissed that i ent out back with a hockey stick and beat the **** out of the tape. then i unspooled the actual tape and burned it. then i felt much better. god dammit that game still pisses me off. ****.
