I always knew that Madden hates the Broncos, but a 74? There were only three teams in the top ten in both offense and defense. The other two met in the SuperBowl. :cuss:
I'm not saying this is a SuperBowl team, it's possible, but to throw Denver down with the Bears is just plain idiotic. Something tells me that Jake is going to throw alot of picks in that computer game. :saywhat:

Redskins nonexistent O ranked an 82 n their second ranked smothering D a 74??

sports games generally aren't the best at rankigns, but who on the broncos should be ranked so high?
the qb who threw 20 picks? the rb who hasn't done nething? the defensive line? the secondary?
remember the last game denver played they got DESTROYED. this matters in madden rankings.
Cleo McDowell

please read mock's first post, second pgph. im not tryin to be a dikk, but it is self explanitory. With a top ten offense AND defense, denver deserves more credit than the shht they are getting.

why? first the teams are ranked from the bottom up, not top down. as far as I know players get rankings. and the teams are just a formula upon that.
and I can see why the madden ppl might not think much of the broncos. u point out what the broncos did well, get yards. so u point to their greatest strength? so what?

I'm guessing the addition of the Cleveland D-Line dropped the overall considerably...sad thing is that the offense is a 73...mock, where'd you find these? Did they have individual player ratings?

if the team produces and reaches the playoffs then they should be ranked in the upper echelon of teams that also reached. See New England Patriots. THey are ranked very high in madden, and they deserve it. A bunch of blue collar guys with no real superstars, but they still rank as the best, if not one of em.
Tell me what the talent rich but piss poor washington O did last season to get an 80 something ranking and what that dominant d didnt do to get a lowly 74?
does this make sense to you?

This is a bunch of BS, to say that the Bengals, Packers, Raiders, Bucs and Redskins are better then the broncos is crap. I love the madden series, and we always get snubbed for ratings, but rating our defense only an 80!!! thats Crap. Your going to tell me that the Seahawks and the Texans have a better defense then us. This kinda trash might make me not buy the video game, unless they show us some serious respect, and fix these ratings. Our offense should be rated at least an 85. Your going to tell me that the Panthers offense, without Mushin is going to be a 87? wtf? pretty sad a team that did horrible, gets more respect then the broncos. And the defense at worst should be a low 90.
with these ratings, the broncos would be getting the 9th pick in the draft! 9TH PICK! are you kidding me.

I'm so upset over these inconsequential rankings that I just stabbed a dull pencil into my cat's eyeball. That's how displeased John Madden has me right now. Now I've got to clean up a bloody mess in my computer room thanks to Electronic Arts and the developers of Madden '06.
Ok, I don't have a cat, or even a pencil (pen is the way to go, people). I apologize to everyone for lying, but we should all be upset at this obvious slap to the face of our proud Bronco franchise and the entire city of Denver. We shouldn't stand for this. The Broncos were 19 plays from being 14-2 and John Madden won't even acknowledge that because he used to coach the Raiders. Everyone knows most NFL players play Madden; our players might see these rankings and lose confidence in their ability to win, causing the Broncos to go another season without winning the division in a year where we’re the clear favorites. I'm writing a letter to Alex Jones and infowars.com about this…

These are the first rankings to come out for the demo EA was running at E3. They didn't even show individual player ratings at the show. I do agree these rankings ar BS. Try this: If you have madden 05 make the Broncos roster as up to date as possible. I don't have 05. I traded that piece of **** in for 2K5. But I did the same thing with the rosters on ESPN. There is no way those rankings could be correct. Even if EA decreased overalls on Anderson, Nalen, the Browns d-lineman and Pryce, and Walls and added in our rookies that still doesn't make sense. EA sucks. Its too bad they got the NFL deal. I think a 2K6 would have been one of the best football games ever. 2k5 definately was. I'm not going to buy madden when it comes out. I'm just not sold on these new features. Madden is 30% sim with 70% arcade gameplay. I'd say 2k was about the opposite and why I liked it so much.
I'm just guessing with these, but here is what I think they should be with no homerism.
The defensive starters:

DJ Williams 89

ESPN signed a deal too and will now be featured in the Madden games. EA has exclusive rights, which means that as of this season, if another company makes a pro football game, they won't be able to use the names of the players, the jerseys, the team names, stadiums or even the names of the conferences. Lovely, huh?

Yeah, that's the latest available downloadable roster. There are more current (and better) ones made by some guys, but you have to either enter the info by hand for all 32 teams or get some kind of hardware dealie to download them from your pc to your memory card.
I think the roster we're all bellyaching about is from the E3 trade show. But it doesn't really matter, Madden always shortchanges the Broncos. Probably thanks to this guy:

I'd say on 80 on offense and an 86 on D would be pretty fair. Screw EA sports. I can't wait to rent this game, and put it on my xbox's harddrive. It's not the fact that we are weak in the game - a good player can win any game with a weak team. It's the percieved lack of respect, or rather, bias against the Broncos that irks me. Top 5 offense and defense clearly doesn't deserve to be 73 and 80 respectively. Champ was 99 last year, I bet they drop him down to 90 :P

remember the last game denver played they got DESTROYED. this matters in madden rankings.
Then the colts offense shouldn't be at 99 (the highest it can go)
2..........I reapeat..........2 years in a row, the Pats ended the Colts season, by completely **shutting down Manning and Co.**
Yet every year, the Colts offense is ranked 99.
The Broncos D has trouble with Indy, EA knocks our Defense down 5+ points?????
They also had trouble w/ Oakland (a really bad team) and Cinci...just to name a couple. ;)

A really bad Oakland team that couldn't play defense or even pretend to run the football. You can't reasonably just blame that game on the snow. You're a cold weather team that lost to a California team, at home, in a snow storm. Who exactly had the advantage there?
The Broncos should be ranked higher period.
Based on what, though? As already mentioned, the overall rankings seem to be based on the individual player ratings...and Denver has a lot of starters who are...well...pretty suspect. That's not to smack on your team. It's just a fact.
Plummer is iffy at best.
Lelie is hardly a blue chipper.
What RB should be rated above a 75 at this point? None that I can see.
Watts is going to be a good one, but he's not there yet.
Defensively, Bailey and Al Wilson are the only guys worthy of a 90+ rating at this point. DJ looks like a killer, but like Watts, he's not there just yet.
I think someone is just upset because EA bruised his homer. :)

Here's an idea.
Play NCAA 2006 as your favorite college team. Build yourself a badass team and wait for a year when you've got a lot of your stars graduating and leaving early for the draft. Save the draft class. Go to Madden 2006. Start trading away the Broncos higher rated players for 1st round picks until you've got as many as you can get your greedy hands on. Simulate the season. With most of your big guns traded for picks, you'll likely get the #1 pick overall along with all of the picks you acquired via trade. Get past the obligatory offseason stuff until you get to the draft. Import the draft class. Pick up all of your badasses from the college game and watch them develop into superstars.
Either that or just create a bunch of players with 99 ratings and cheese out.
Who cares? It's a video game, it's supposed to be fun. It's certainly nothing to get offended over.

I just play NCAA and export every draft class, andthen import them year by year in Madden, it's pretty fun.
OSU has 5 national titles in 7 year of NCAA 2005, but I can credit because I cheat so bad in recruiting(insert OSU joke here) and just simulate all the seasons.

Yep, and I'm always partial to picking OSU players in the draft.
If you ever want to cheat at recruiting, this is what I do, I just create a bunch of prospects each year and make them all from Ohio. With OSU being a national championship along with Ohio's only big time D-1 college, the Ohio prospects all want to come play for us, and being from OH takes less recruiting points away.
It would work well for CU, you're a national title team and only big time presitge team in the state of Colorado, so you don't have to compete with any other Colorado schools for the top recruits, just makes about 10 recruits a yeat based on your team needs and you'll remained jsut stacked.

This is waaaay outta control. The rankings for an overall team comes from lifetime stats of players. In short the donks got worse because they picked up all the Browns & then you have to look at Ron Dayne and others that haven't performed. Reputation and career stats drive the rankings in video games... Relax!

REP

What do you guys think?
Defense
Bailey 98...still one of the best in the game.
Wilson 91...a very underrated player.
DJ Williams 92...should be DPOY in a year or so.
Gold 89...he's very criticized, but a great ST player and a good LB.
Walls 80...coaches are high on him for a reason.
Fergy 75...not a great player, but should be a decent S.
Lynch 90...getting older but still great.
Pryce 88...a great playmaker when healthy, which is normal for him.
Brown 85...a great player if healthy.
Warren 82...should be a very good DL.
Fatafehi 76...he's decent.
Offense
Plummer 89...4th in the laegue in yards, 27 TDs...pretty damn good.
Bell 85...all Denver RBs are good...just accept it already.
Johnson 80...he looks real good.
Lepsis 90
Hamilton 86
Nalen 93
Carlisle 84
Foster 86
Smith 91...1000 yards last year...great player.
Lelie 92...an amazing playmaker...led league with 7 TDs of 30 yds or more.
Watts 76...didn't show too much his rookie year...should be good though.
Putz 82...should be key in our offense this year.
Alexander 76...

Elam 97...one of the great kickers of all time.
Saurbrun 93...a great punter.
D Williams 75...should be good.

You would figure that the broncos offense, which was the 2nd most productive in team history would get the benefit of the doubt. Plummer throws for 4k yards, we always have a 1200 yard rusher and we always get TE production. These are normal facets of the Bronco offense, the ability to run the ball, so make bell an 80. Good move. Defense was top 6. But hey, they got blown out...so they must suck.

Like it matters. Dude, like we all don't add ourselves in a bronco uniform with a 100 rating in every catagory making the Broncos a perennial superbowl contender anyway.
hell yeah. not onl6y do i edit the players so that my team is like a 95 O and a 99 D, but i got my "Will Bartow" superstar FS in there. 31 picks last year, 25 returned for TDs. oh yeah, and 16 PR TDs and 18 KR TDs. he is also 22 now in his 4th season. i started him at 18...i am such a cheater.
Just because they play for a Cali team, doesn't mean they are from there, same goes for Denver players.
Gonna tell me that Lelie, who hails from South Carolina and went to Hawaii, is cold weather player because he plays in Denver?
Broncos, regardless of their college roots, play 8 games a year, every year, in Denver. The Raiders play maybe 2 or 3 true cold weather games a year.
I suppose you'd try to tell me that Lambeau Field doesn't give the Packers an advantage. Of course not. Their QB is from Mississippi. The cold hinders him, right?
I wonder raiders 81 overall broncos 73, get real, overrated!!!!
Uh huh. We're higher than Denver, therefore, overrated. That's right.

I have had every Madden game that has came out since the first one on the Genesis, Madden has never like the Broncs, I remember a few times Elway was even ranked in the 70's!!! But this year's team is going to be far different than last year's, if any of you play the NCAA game you know that the rankings on that game are usually far different than real life, Notre Dame always makes a bowl...etc...etc because preseason doesn't tell you how they will really play. Denver has a new "rookie" RB in Bell, Plummer threw for lots of yards but not a lot of scores and tossed lots of INT's, only one solid WR-Smith,an entire new D-line that sucked in Cleveland, an awesome set of LB's and one stud CB, to any one else besides a Bronco fan that does not look to good on paper.

:saywhat:
