Would never work.
Moss and Owens would kill each other fighting for the ball.

We already made the rat draft 3 CB's if we got Owens he would probably draft a CB in every round LOL

Them two?!!? I don't think Jerry Porter is going to all that happy either. I would love to see the fade tie up 1/3 of the pay roll in WRs though.
Jeff Laurie said TO can come play for the eagles, or sit out. They are not renegotiating the contract.

If Al wanted to make it happen it would happen. He's probably the only owner outside of Jerry Jones that has enough balls to even try something like this.

You can have all the balls you want, if you don't have the bucks it's not going to happen and the Raiders don't have the bucks.

Really? how many times have I heard that before. Clayton-Nomics don't apply to the Raiders. You can bet your @ss that if Al Davis was thinking of a move like this it would happen and Owens would get a deal that would fit him under the cap. If Davis can get Moss to Restructure... Owens would do the same!

First of all you would never get past the first if or the assumption Owens would do the same. But yeah, once you get there....
Now you have a 2 player team.
Brilliant!
Go for it Alice.

Actually that would be easy enough. With TO holding out for more mullah and Moss taking every other play off.....no problem!

you would figure moss would run vertical, stretching the defense, with owens and porter working the middle. denver actually matches up well.

Does anyone know anyone planning to repurchase a PSL?
Raiders home games could be a ghost town, a few zealots with painted faces and skull masks sitting among the endless rows of empty seats.
The Raiders offense should be potent enough. They need help on defense, where they were last in the league in virtually every category last season.
If the Raiders load up enough offensively maybe it won't matter. It could be like watching the Arena League, but, hey, whatever works. Coach Norv Turner might have to put quarterback Kerry Collins on a pitch count to keep him from getting a dead arm. Maybe they could go with a four-quarterback rotation.
Owens is pure poison, but Al doesn't care. Never has. Some might be concerned about the egos of Owens and Moss colliding, but not our guy. He always figures that stuff will work out even though it rarely does.
And - for the purpose of discussion I think writers need to stop assuming any malcontent finds a home in Oakland. I mean, let's look at Denver's personnel tactics the last few seasons. How can you possibly count them out of the high risk, low reward category? Hahahhahahahhahahaha.

Alright , I need some help... Who wins this fantasy trade? I have no third baseman and can't win an offensive catagory to save my life. I currently have Lowell or Hinske at 3rd.
Pujols
for
Helton and Glaus

And if my aunt had Balls she would be my Uncle ............ But then The Raiders do have a **** defense ... Just saying ;D
Pujols
for
Helton and Glaus I'm assuming you're giving Pujols? Thats a pretty good deal for you. Glaus, though fragile, has been hitting well this year, and Helton is an elite player. You give up Pujols, a top 5 guy, but you get a top 15 in Helton and a top 100 in Glaus.
If your 3Bs now are Mike Lowell and Eric Hinske you aren't doing too bad, despite Lowell's slow start. However, if you have an extra roster spot currently occupied by a league average guy that you could put Lowell in (utility or corner infield, lots of leagues use those), it makes the deal real easy to put in perspective. If the gap between them to Glaus is bigger than the gap between Pujols to Helton, its a good deal, and there's a real good chance thats the case in your league, unless its a small, stacked, league, in which case you're better off to keep Pujols.

What do ya think of Derrick Burgess then? Finishing a full regular season is the exception and not the rule with that guy. At least Boulware has some pass rushing skill.

We certainly aren't paying Burgess as much as we would have to pay Boulware if we had a chance to get him. Burgess has showed plenty of pass rush skill when he played and according to Turner on NFL Network Burgess is taking our tackles to school!

Norv also said the recievers looked sharp last season. Not exactly a ringing endorsment. Burgess is a marginal NFL player who we overpaid. Boulware won't get that much more money yet has far more ability.

Wait a minute.... you think shoring up the defense is a good idea? Man, you must've been watching the "we'll outscore them all" theory unleashed on the league by the Chiefs the past couple of seasons.

Well Max, they're still going to run that 3-4 deal from what I can gather. With Brayton and Sam Williams as our Suggs and Boulware (note I am not comparing the talent level just using them as a frame of reference), essentially a 5-2 stack defense with the 3 DL and 2 OLB's stacking the line and Forman and Danny Clark running to the ball.
Burgess is only going to play situationaly as a nickel and dime end where I think is where you'll see the 4 man line enter the picture. I guess theyr'e worried they'll break him or something if he plays too much

They've become KC. Why on earth should that scare anyone?
Raider Bill
05-17-2005, 08:05 PM
We were similar to KC on defense last year with a 32nd ranked rushing attack. KC had Priest, which makes them look even worse IMO.
If we manage to cobble together a legit running game, our defense will be drug up a few spots in ranking just from the ability to sustain a drive.
If a couple of guys step up on the D we have a shot of being decent. If not we'll fix it next offseason with the 20 million plus in cap room we'll clear out.

When I saw this thread I got kind of worried. But after reading the article, there is no need to worry. This is just some writer's fantacy. There is nothing here at all. No mention of the teams talking about this. Doesn't the writer have anything better to write about...like something that is really happening? I guess he just makes up stuff to write about.
This couldn't happen anyway. The Eagles aren't about to trade TO. Remember they gave him a big signing bonus last year. If they trade him the prorated portion of that bonus, which would be a good $7-8 million, would count against their cap this year. You think they have the cap space to take that hit? I don't think so. TO isn't going anywhere.

They pretty much did what the Chiefs did with their defense last year. That's nothing at all. They even got rid of a couple starters. That D is going to be worse than last year.

I guess you meant "something this stupid". As to both players players restructuring for the benefit of the team Hilarious! ROFL! Hilarious! ROFL!
The only way they will restructure is if they are getting more money, which of course means even more cap hell for you guys!

Realistically, this is the kind of crap that Dallas pulled in the pre-cap NFL...San Francisco too in the salad days, but. today, the money would just be too much, forcing major sacrifices elsewhere on the team.
Hey, the good news is; you might actually sell out a few games... & keeping Oakland fans home watching the game could reduce the DUI road-kill by staggering numbers.
Wife beatings could go up though.
