I love horse racing, just wanted to see who everyone thought was going to wint the race. I like Afleet Alex, and will prob. throw High Limit, Flower Alley and Bellamy road below him.

I'm a big Pony fan. I go to Philadelphia Park at least once a month. I was raving about Smarty Jones last year at this time as I saw him run his first 3 races of his career at Philly Park.
I too LOVE Afleet Alex in the Derby.

I plan to lay 2 Bills on him tonight for the Race tomorrow. I thought Alex would be the 3rd choice by the handicappers behing Bandini and Bellamy Road and was hoping for a 6-1 or 7-1 price on him.
He's sitting at 9-2 (for the non pony fan that's 4 1/2-1).

I'm also gonna throw $20 on my Darkhorse.... Wilko. If there is a big upset, Wilko is the only Horse I see pulling the upset.

I, too, like Aflleet Alex. The question is how well Bellamy Road will run without the lead. Still working on my picks, but the dosage index says the winner will come from Bellamy Road, Afleet Alex, High Fly, and High Limit.

In the Kentucky Oaks today, Sis City, the heavy fave, faded from second to come in fourth. Cost me the tri. But I hit the tri in the 11th.

Post time coming up. Steinbrenner's horse is the big favorite but I put some money on Noble Causeway.

He's running for a cancer child.

He is on a mission from God. Just watch.

Wow. Giacomo, a 50-1 shot wins it.

Followed by 30-1 shot Closing Argument and 9-2 Afleet Alex.

(Got the odds off ESPN). The payoffs should be huge.

Question.....

Is an exacta 3 horses in exact order? And a perfecta is 2 in exact order?

I'm more familiar with dog racing with quinielas and trifectas and superfectas.

The owner probably made more off his bet then he did on the purse. Unreal.

9k on a $2 bet exacta only picking Win and Place (2 horses)... unbelievable
Trifecta is Picking the 3 horses that come in 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Generally a Quinella is picking the 1st and 2nd place horses in either order. 1st-2nd or 2nd-1st.

The Exacta is picking the 1st and 2nd place in order.

The Trifecta is picking the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in order.

Trifecta paid 113k

I do not know the exact name, but the "Pick4" paid 1.7 mil WOW :(

My confusion was with the terms EXACTA and PERFECTA which aren't used at most dog tracks. Apparently they mean the same thing and I thought they were different.

Ironically, I spent most of this afternoon at the dog track because the weather is so terrible.

Most of the time that bet is called an Exacta Box at Horse Tracks...

If you boxed the trifecta, you walked off rich.

Wonder how ole Steinbrenner is feeling now?

His Yanks are down the tubes and his horse can't win the Kentucky Derby even as the favorite.

Actually, the superfecta, the top four, paid 1.7 million. Probably seven winners in the world, assuming 20 million in the super pot. I'm sure it's an all time record for any horse race.

I never really got horse racing. Its like nascar or something. Always seemed gay to me. But I did watch it... all the hype for about 45 seconds of action?

my father in law got an exacta on a 10 dollar bet. He's staying at my house for my wife's graduation. He's buying the beer and supper while he stays.

If you're not lying, he's sitting on $45,000. Charge him rent while he's staying with you. He's good for it.

Here is the deal with betting:
Quinella- 1st 2 horse's in any order
Exacta- first 2 horse's in exact order of finish
Exacta Box- pretty much the same as Quinella
Trifecta- first 3 horses in exact order of finish
Trifecta Box- first 3 horses in any order
Superfecta- first 4 horses in exact order of finish
Superfecta Box- first 4 horses in any order

In all my years of betting the Ponies, this is the biggest exacta, trifecta, and superfecta I've ever seen.
$9,800 for the exacta, $133,000 for the Tri and 1.7 million on the superfecta.

I was super bummed after this race. I didn't see Giacomo till after the 1/8 pole. I started counting my money until I saw that f*cking bastard. Betting is a b*tch sometimes.
The worst thing is that my 3 year old son told me before the race that he wanted #10 to win. He loves the Dapple Grey horses and #10 is the only horse who had a touch of grey on him. I told him he had a better chance of seeing Jesus Christ sit down next to us to watch the race then he did seeing #10 win.
Like NCAA hoops at Tourney time, sometimes the more you know, the dumber you look.

LOL!

It's a special ability that us Christians have developed. When I found out his numbers won I knew I needed to bring him back for the money.

He isn't dead now, but if he keeps his antics up he might be. Damn in-laws.
