View Full Version : Wheelie Winslow

This story just gets better.
I heard on ESPN that he wasn't just riding with a group of "Veteran Bikers", but that they were part of a trick bike group. By trick, I mean bikers that were totally experienced and had "skills" above the ordinary social biker. "Skills" as in he was riding with a bunch of "Evil Kneviels". I think it was Jack Nicholson that said "You have to know your limitations". What I find amazing is he managed this all by himself.
At first I thought Winslow just got out of his league and messed up in a parking lot testing out his equipment. It turns out he went to Canton and got all his leathers, rode a wheelie out of town and was in a group of expert "trick" bikers.
We we are talking about someone who didn't have his green plates off a Cafe Racing Suzuki. Move over D.T. your throne is being challenged.
This whole thing reminds me so much of Derrick Thomas, who put rims and racing tires on his SUV then decided to break the air/speed record on glare ice to catch a playoff game.
This stunt was so stupid, I could give him some slack if he was drunk. This was just incredibly stupid. I'm intimidated by those crazy widow makers. If get a bike, it will be a fairly light 450/650 I can handle that is a road cruiser, not some Kamakazi deathbike, especially because I haven't really ridden anything but dirt bikes and a 350 Classic.
But these guys just keep wanting the dough. Between IHOP, Dale Carter and other imbicilles, you just have to wonder. Rocker goes off on a fan while he's pitching minor leagues, Giambi is batting .217 for the Yankees, Canseco is defending steroids.
It's gotten to the point where athletes are so out of control it's literally pathetic, not amusing.
Take Barry Bonds for example. He totally ignores team doctors. Not only that, he declared earlier this season that "He might not be back", yet now, "I'll be back..."
Or the "They don't tell us Hispanics not to do Steroids in Spanish..."
Or all the other crap. Then we have T.O, who broke his leg, and is demanding a new contract after the ink isn't dry, he bashes his All-Pro QB, demands a New Contract, and this after he went thru half the NFL to get someone to kiss his ass.

Wow. Hanging with expert Evil Kenevil biker guys and doing stunts when he isnt 100 percent recovered from his knee injury last year. I cannot believe Kellen would do that. This is absurd! I am really disappointed in him. He is a very passionate, fiery person and goes overboard yes, but i thought he was an intelligent guy though. This is flat out dumb. Your whole career you put at risk, and to top it off your just coming off of a leg injury. He has the ability to be one of the greatest TEs in the history of the league. In 2002 and 2003 he took TE play to a new level. How could he throw it away by doing some stunt like this. He isnt anywhere close to an expert biker, why is he trying to do that ****? What a waste of talent. Thankfully, none of his injuries appear life or career threatening, although they may be season ending. He can still become one of the greatest TEs ever, but he needs someone to watch him full time. Besides his Dad. He already has thrown away millions. It isnt over for him though, but he has to shape up quick.

I don't have the link, but evidently, they were not just "veteran" road bikers, they were hot rods.
Cruisers are so much safer it's not even funny.
My Cat cruised to tight with a mean dog and caught some grief, but he's still able to run the hood with Smelly Cat and Old Poopy, and is curled up like a cookie. I let him have his fun, he's always on top of the house or garage chasing birds, but he doesn't have a 9 million dollar signing bonus on the line.
If my cat digs hanging out at 30 feet, that's his business, or if he wants to play with the neighborhood Rottie, well, that's what he wanted. Mock has more in the draft pool at the farm, or at the clinic. Beezer is shoehorned just fine, he just wants to be a mountain climber and has no front claws. How he does these stunts is beyond me.
Anyway, I hope Winslow will recover, there I said it. Then we trade for him while he's recovering off his latest injury.
My cat is one of the least domesticated breeds you can have the opportunity to own. He's crazy. But he's a cat.

I'm just as shocked as you are SoCal. Dad should be piping up about the Browns or Suzuki being racists right about...............NOW

The 21-year-old tight end remains hospitalized at the Cleveland Clinic and a timetable for his release has not been determined.
The team also reported that Winslow is in good spirits. He has had a number of visitors over the last few days, including team president John Collins, general manager Phil Savage, coach Romeo Crennel and teammates.

the kid doesn't VALUE his worth. IMO, daddy probably fought every battle for him, just like on draft day. So when he's finally on his own, he's making some really poor decisions that could throw his career down the toilet. Brilliant. There's only so many years available for promising NFLers out there, they've got the shortest career in professional sports. Kellen jr. keeps tempting fate like this. The guy is a posterboy for idiots.

Well, after they ask for his signing bonus back and cut him, then we can sign him, right?

Sirius Radio Reported This Morning That Winslow Is Done For The Year With A Torn Acl. We All Know This Takes At Least 8 Months To Heal And That Nothing Is Garunteed With His Return. I Think It Is Sad That Someone With That Much Special Athletic Ability Would Have Absolutely No F***ing Sense At All.

Winslow is more busted up than C. Brown. I still maintain he's hurt more than they are saying. He busted off the handlebar, went thru the faring.
I'm just glad I'm not a Cleveland fan. Right now, C. Brown looks the picture of health compared to KWIN.
Brown should start light jogging soon. Drop some weight on him and hope that broken foot heals right. Mock says take him along slow then work him in preseason. Those foot bones are tiny critters, but I think he had that surgury early in last season. I'm anxious to see if his facia injury gets cleared. That's a bad injury.

Wow, I posted this before I saw the ACL. They suspected it, but he was so beaten up inside they just let him rest.
They need to show the tape on the Yavoom? Commercial with dumb tapes with the 6789's in the background as he flies off the bike.
Hell, it's an endorsement right? Whoo Hoo, Hoo Hoo Hoo...

Let's assume he's out for the year b/c we all know that's the case, whether it's official or not.
Sure it sucks. Here's how I'm going to look at it from now on. It's May. The upcoming season isn't going to be much fun, win-loss wise. We're not expected to do anything, and we won't. Let Winslow HEAL for another year. He should be more than 100% by 2006, when we'll actually be ready to contend anyway. This season doesn't really mean much, other than for everyone to adjust to all the new stuff (coaches, players, scheme, philosophy). More changes will come. BE will no longer be a rookie.
I guess I'm just going to be positive and look to the future. We only had him for 2 games, so what's another year? Hopefully he'll be completely healthy when we really need him.

I think I'll check to see what this guy posted about the Clarett pick. I'm sure he had some two bit nonsense about Clarett being worthless because he had been out of football for two years. This could be a fun time. ;)

The poor Brownie.
Now tell me how a broken leg worked on twice, an ACL and busted shoulder is going to make Kellen Winsow more than 100% by 2006.
How are three separate injuries going to make him "better than 100%?"
He has a bad leg, broken knee, broken shoulder, broken lung, broken kidney.
The guy is in Intensive Care!
This is all fact. The guy is busted up worse than a Vega Station Wagon.
Do you need a reality check?
He's laying in ICU and he's coming back?
Mock told you all that he would not play this year and his career might be over two days ago.
