Has he been signed yet? If not, when? And, if he has, what's it look like?

Whoa, jumping the gun. Rookie contracts usually don't happen until at least late June or early July. Many drag on until a week or two before camp.

I read in the Post that based on last year's contract for his slot, he'll probably get a bonus between $850,000 and $1,000,000 depending on the length of the contract. I don't think anyone from last year's class signed a contract for at least a week or two after the draft.

Are you sure that's the bonus and not the total contract value? That seems like an awful lot of money for the 101st pick -- I don't even think Portis got a bonus that big and he was the 51st pick. If that's correct, then we are going to shell out more than $5 million in bonuses because Clarett was the lowest drafted of 4 1st day picks. I guess it will depend on the length of the deal as well.

I apparently read the article when I was drunk. Make that bonus around $400,000 (link below). Total contract will obviously vary depending on the number of years, but here are the league minimums (which I'd imagine he'll be slightly over) by number of years in the league:
R $225,000
1 $300,000
2 $375,000
3 $450,000
4-6 $525,000
7-9 $650,000
10+ $750,000
I'd imagine the team will want to do a four year deal with somewhere around $2 million in total money.

That sounds about right for his deal. Tatum got nearly $5 million (total), but he was a top 40 pick and his deal is for 5 years.

4. LB Demorrio Williams (Nebraska/No. 101 overall): Signing bonus: $57,750. Base salaries: $345,360 (2004); $305,000 (2005); $385,000 (2006). Total: three years, $1,265,360. Salary cap charge: $345,120.
Bump everything up slightly because of the increase in the cap.

Good, now all we need is the next John Elway, Gary Zimmerman, Howard Griffith, Ed McCaffery and Shannon Sharpe and the offense is set!

Here is a general idea of what MC will make:
Wasting little time, the club signed fourth-round safety Jerome Carter to a three-year contract. The standout Florida State defensive back, who was the 117th player chosen overall, is the first of the 255 players selected last weekend to reach contract terms.
The three-year deal is worth $1.239 million, ESPN.com has learned, and it includes a signing bonus of $319,000. The base salaries are the standard NFL minimums typically awarded to most rookies outside of the first two rounds: $230,000 (for 2005), $305,000 (2007) and $385,000 (2008).

Broncos scout Cornell Green retired last week. Here is what he had to say about Clarett. It would be fun to have him AND Bell stick with the Broncos for a couple of years. The one thing Broncos have lacked is strong depth at RB. He might help.
The last draft included Maurice Clarett.
"I think he is going to surprise a lot of people, and some of them are going to have to take back a few words," Green said.

There are going to be soooooo many writers across the country eating crow if Clarett turns out to be great.
The double-edged sword is...that no matter how good Clarett does...people will always credit the system more than the runner...and this will give any writer an 'escape clause' from any crow eating where Mo is concerned.
And worse....the myth of the system being soley responsible will perpetuate itself again with each article or video clip from the media. Not only if Mo excels in Denver...but especially if Reuben fails in Cleveland.
All of which doesn't help the Broncos in future trades at the RB position...or with Mo in ultimately achieving league-wide respect.
It might be easy to achieve success in Denver running the football...but it is becoming very hard to have that success attributed to yourself and not Bobby Turner, Shanny, or the zone blocking of the O-Line.
