Pro Bowler Ahman Green arrested on suspicion of domestic violence

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Green Bay Packers running back Ahman Green was arrested Tuesday after a domestic violence incident.

The Brown County sheriff's department said deputies went to his residence after a 911 call ended with a hang-up. The Pro Bowler was arrested at about 10:10 p.m. Monday after officers believed a domestic violence incident happened.

Green was taken to the Brown County jail, but he posted bond and was released.

Packers general manager Ted Thompson released a statement that said the organization was trying to get more information.

``We obviously care about Ahman and the entire Green family, and we will continue to support them through this time,'' he said.

The organization wouldn't make further comments because it's a legal matter, he said.

A message left for Green's agent, David Dunn, wasn't immediately returned Tuesday night.

Green has been with the Packers since 2000 and was selected to the Pro Bowl the last four years. He is second on the team's all-time rushing list after starting his career in Seattle. He played college football at Nebraska.

He is married with two daughters and a stepson, according to Packers publicity materials.

i wouldnt blame him. He shelled out 300 bucks plus plane and hotel expenses and its the second quarter and his team is down 34-0 in this pic. Poor guy.

I hope it comes out that it was just an argument type thing..... I've heard that Ahman is a hell of a nice guy. If he did hit her he's trash though.....

I was at a Cavaliers vs Bucks game (Lebrons rookie year) at the Bradley Center and Ahman Green was there and he seemed like a nice guy.

This may turn into a Stranhan type thing. I remember him taking some heat when his wife called the cops on him, but it turns out she was just playing games. They were in the process of getting a divorce, so she took $6 million out of one of their accounts. Michael found out and was hot. I don't think he hit her, but she was playing games, so she called the cops. Some women are just like that.

At this point in history, all a disgruntled, possibly adultrous woman has to do to ensure bling bling is call 911, and they will haul you away. Expect a divorce out of this saga. I love the "suspicion of domestic violence" charge. Where are the broken items, where are the bruises? Now, women can just look at the phone and send men running to the closet. There are countless examples of women actually hitting themselves or twisting their own arms just to make a bruise.

I don't know anything about the case, but it sounds pretty fishy to me. If she had one scratch, they would of taken her to a hospital for "treatment", just to document the "incident".

Sometimes I feel sorry for these athletes that wind up with money grubbing bitches, like Jeff Gordon, who had to dump millions into her till when all she knew how to do was hold up a racing trophy and prance around.

Again, I don't know the story, but Green probably took the phone away from her and hung up. I can almost smell the lawyers circling him.
