Official Bio
College: Washington St. Height: 6-0
Position: Cornerback Weight: 204
Class: Senior 40-Yard: 4.31
SCOUTING REPORT
Strengths: Has good size and a very solid build...Smart player...Shows good technique...Very aware in coverage...Physical player who isn't afraid to hit...Good tackler who will help against the run...Productive...Very fast.
Weaknesses: Might be a bit of a workout warrior...May not have the tools to hold up in a lot of man coverage...Has been known to give up a big play now and then.
Notes: Has good physical tools and moved up thanks to workouts...Could really excel in the right scheme and might fit in best with a team like Tampa Bay or Indianapolis.
Paymah could be the special team ace that the Bronco have been looking for. The Broncos could have a 4.3 gunner on spacial teams. The Bronco corner back situatiion looks good for a long time.I think the Broncos will carry 10 defensive backs next year.

We have three new special team gunners now in D. Williams, Foxworth and PaymeNow, all of which are sub 4.35 burners, plus with Keith Burns and Roc Alexander ( if he Roc and Burns make the team) along with Predator, Gold, Middlebrooks, Chris Young and Brandon we've got some solid special team stoppers.
And if Paul Ernster pans out like his bio sounds, it wont matter so much anyway.
Supposedly, the only 5 kick offs that he did not kick out of the endzone last year were intended high floaters designed to pin the opposing team deep inside their own 20! With some more experience and being around Jason Elam, he's bound to get even better over the next 4 months and if he can do that kicking from the 35 we're in business!

10 CBs or 10 DBs just to make sure? It wouldn't make sense to carry 10 CBs.
For once i'm eagerly anticipating the ST's unit. :) The last time I felt like that Elam was hitting 63 yarders and Vaugn Hebron/Darien Gordon were setting up our offense in great field positions.

I wonder if this paymah guy can be a free saftey? Sounds like he has decent size, good strength, good tackler and great speed.

Thats what I was hoping for. 41.5 inch vert as well. I think he would be a great center fielder for us.

It seems like every secondary player is going to be a free safety or something.
We have three new special team gunners now in D. Williams, Foxworth and PaymeNow Derrant Williams will hopefully never see the back side of a kickoff or punt return in his career with us. He just doesn't have the size or tackling ability to be a gunner. Foxworth and Paymah though, I think thats half the reason we got them.
I see no need to move him to safety though at this point. With his size and speed combo he gets at least a few seasons to prove himself as a CB, despite the fact that I think he'll eventually have to go to FS as well. IF he pans out at CB though, he'd be the best of the bunch we took this year. Good size and speed, can cover anyone.
Browner is another guy who gets a lot of "should move to safety" talk. He could ultimately wind up there, but at nearly 6'4", 221 pounds, the guy has to be given some time at CB, if nothing more than as a weapon against big recievers, such as Vince Jackson, Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates, etc. He's very good at covering big, physical WRs from everything I've heard.

screw that, move Browner to S but let him play CB in some sets to guard those big WR's.
i love the Paymah pick, he's probably the 3rd most draft pick i'm excited about behind Williams & Clarett
