Does anyone know why we played New England twice in 1991? I can't remember if there was a reason we played an AFC East team twice in the regular season or if it was just a scheduling anomaly.
We beat the Patriots 9-6 at Foxboro in one of the most boring games in team history. Then we beat them 20-3 at Mile High later in the season. New England was led to those 9 points by future Broncos Hugh Millen and Leonard Russell.
So in the 1991 season Denver played 10 of their 16 games against Los Angeles, San Diego, Kansas City, Seattle, and New England. We couldn't beat the Raiders, they handed the Broncos half their 4 losses. We had a damn good shot at beating Buffalo on the road in the AFC Championship game. That was a gusty effort and I felt so bad for Steve Sewell after his fumble. David Treadwell missed all 3 field goal attempts in a 3 point loss and I was pissed at him and still am.
