I believe we are at 2.85 mill under the cap baja. I would think that would be enough for a normal 7 pick rookie pool including a first rounder.

Im not Herc, but i did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.

I looked it up a few weeks ago, and I think $2.75M or so was the rookie cap for whoever had picked 25th last year.

The real reason we made that trade is because we raped Gibbs, I still cn not believe they made that trade with us,

I'll bet Washington will be picking about 12th next year so we would get a 3 and a 4 and a #12 for a #25. What am i missing here ???

So, we were in a disadvantaged situation in a few ways, one of the major ways we could have be leveraged against would have been our salary cap status, let alone our almost desperate placement in the draft at #25, but still, we were able to negotiate a rush, and come away clean after a stand-up, strip and rip of the Deadskins (hopefully) 2006 top 5 pick!!

i think the trade will be great in the long run...provided we make good use of the picks. Doesnt mean anything if we pick up three busts.

i think that we made the trade to make salary cap room for the veterans taht will be cut in the oncoming months.

i am really intreagued at the idea of pickup up ty law...do we have enough money to lure him??????

And the opportunity to help a team get past Indy and against the Pats. That could just about be worth a one year deal.

we dont want to use all of our cap money left on rookies though, we are going to sign a few veterans that get cut later in the offseason...

If there's a veteran worth chasing, we'd be able to come up with the money... It's not a problem when you've got a new stadium and an owner like Bowlen. Converting base into bonus that is amortized over the life of the rest of a contract is standard procedure.

Denver has 2.8 mill that is more than enough to sign your rookies.

This is really simple, Shanahan made this trade because it was far too good a deal to pass up. You'd have to be a complete idiot or Redskins homer to believe otherwise.

Look at what the Jets got for the 26th pick and compare it to what the Broncos got for the 25th. It had nothing to do with the salary cap or anything other than the Broncos taking Dan Snyder to the cleaners once again.

Keep in mind Denver could trade those two number ones to make a play this year for a Mike Williams type player.

Keep in mind Denver could trade those two number ones to make a play this year for a Mike Williams type player. No, they really couldn't. As seen by what we got out of the foreskins, a first this year is worth more than a first next year, it'll hold true for most any team, especially those in the early part of round 1. If we were looking to trade up we would have packaged our 1st this year and a first next year to go up.

The only trade ups I see us doing is either a) 2nd and foreskins 3rd to move up in the 2nd b) 2nd or foreskins 3rd to move back, picking up extra 4th and 5th round picks or c) someone drops insanely, the FO wants him, so we offer a single 1st (probably ours) next year along with this year's 2nd and foreskins 3rd. In that scenario we won't be moving up any higher than 20 I'd say.

Mike Williams won't be on this team, thats pretty much a fact now. Just hope we get Vince Jackson.

I love Mike Williams, but there is no way I would trade both of next year's #1's. I would trade the rest of this year's draft for him though, but it wouldn't be enough to get him.
