There is no OG rated for the 1st round, Jackson is rated a 3rd round value. Just some interesting stuff.

i think jones would be a great pick, even if he is a project, in the redzone all he has to do is run to the goal line, then look up.
-but then, doing the conventional thing and drafting a OG in the first then, Jackson later would also be a very good draft

I'm just getting bored with all this speculation, saturday can not come fast enough for me.
Jone would be a very exciting pick. but I agree you build champions from the inside of your OL out and pound the ball to keep the other offense off the field.

I'm just taking a wild assed stab at this one ... Denver's current draft spots and the "value rankings". I haven't looked deep in to many mocks, so some of these guys may be projected well before I have them here... again, this is the product of boredom.

Would you guys be happy with the following:

R1 (25) - Travis Johnson, DT, FL State (or CB - Marlin Jackson / Justin Miller)
R2 (56) - Josh Bullocks, S, Nebraska (WR Mark Bradley, OK)
R3 (97) - Vincent Jackson, WR, Northern Colorado (or RB Frank Gore or CB Corey Webster, LSU)
R4 (101) - Brandon Browner, CB, Oregon State (or QB Andrew Walter, AZ St)
R6 (200) - Michael Munoz, OT, Tenn (or OG CJ Brooks, Maryland or
R7 (239) - Chris Myers, OG, Miami (or QB Timmy Chang, HI)

Wow ... that was a whipping, ok ... tear it apart. :-*

I'd be very happy with that draft. Ecstatic actually.

My guess is that Bullocks would be the only one available at that slot though. :boohoo:

Yeah, I wanted to compare this "value ranking" with some recent mocks... I'm not sure when the value chart was done. So, I just took a shot, I didn't have the time to compare if some of the guys I slotted in R3/R4 were a realistic option.

The good, IMO:
- Vincent Jackson in the third
- Munoz in the sixth

The bad, IMO:
- Travis Johnson - make me nervous. I'd prefer Jackson of the 3 you listed. Or I'd take Patterson from USC.
- Brandon Browner - no project. I'd prefer Walter if he's available.

The rest is pretty mediocre in my mind. I'd prefer Pool to Bullocks if we can make it happen at #56. I'd also take McPherson instead of Walter at 101 if he's available.

McPherson has been getting a lot of press lately... may be a bit much having the AZ State combo at QB.

I'm to the point now that I have no expectations on whom the Broncos draft in the 1st. As long as we can somehow come away with Jackson in any round other than the 1st, I'd be quite pleased. Whomever we get in round 1 (if we don't trade out altogether), I just hope he can make an immediate impact!

At first i was like you guys are crazy for wanting Matt Jones. Now i have changed my mind completely. I want him to be our #1 draft choice. At 6'6 242 and runs a 4.3 40? I like it...............i like it a whole lot. "With the 25th pick in the 2005 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos select......Matt Jones, WR/TE Arkansas." Couldn't said it better myself.

I've been stunned and confused with every draft to date... no reason to think this one will be any different.

If we could draft both Matt Jones and Vincent Jackson, it would make our team so much better. Two really big fast targets that couldn't be stopped in the red zone and would create matchup problems for every other team in the league.

Trade down from 25 to get a 2 and a 4:
2a. Roscoe Parish (returner and #4 WR)
2b. Mike Patterson (stud DT to use in a rotattion)
3a. Dustin Colquitt (the Punter we have been looking for)
3b. Vincent Jackson (Project TE for our new TE coach)
4a. Andrian McPhearson (3# QB this year behind Mauck, could be the future though)
4b. Antonio Perkins (#3 CB, learn from Champ, another return guy)

The rest I could care less

Probably find a few guards at the end like Claude Terrell, UNM or Michael Munoz from Tennessee (tackle, son of Anthony) We seem to have great luck getting O-line at the end of the draft

What if we could draft Mike Williams, Matt Jones, and Vincent Jackson? zowie!

Parris Warren from Utah would be a steal in the 7th, as would Jason White

The chances of both Jones and Jackson stepping up and being players in this league aren't that high... the chances of them both stepping into the spotlight on the same team, out of this world.

Only after the tooth fairy and the Easter Bunny finally admit the torrid affair they've been having for years now.
