Broncos re-sign Lenny Walls
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - The Denver Broncos on Friday re-signed restricted free-agent cornerback Lenny Walls, Head Coach Mike Shanahan announced. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Walls, 6-4, 192 pounds, enters his fourth season with the Broncos, who signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2002. In 36 career regular-season games (17 starts), he has totaled 89 tackles (76 solo), one interception (0 yds.), 22 pass breakups, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
The 25-year-old Walls played seven games (1 start) for Denver in 2004 and posted 21 tackles (18 solo), two pass breakups and a forced fumble before he was placed on injured reserve Nov. 30 with a right shoulder injury. He was a 16-game starter in 2003 and recorded 68 tackles (58 solo) and one interception (0 yds.) along with 20 pass breakups that marked the highest total by a Bronco since 1997.
In two seasons at Boston College, Walls tallied 84 tackles (64 solo), four sacks and nine interceptions, including one that he returned for a touchdown. He began his collegiate career at St. Mary's College (Moraga, Calif.) before transferring to City College of San Francisco, which he helped lead to a junior college national championship in 1999. Born Sept. 26, 1979, in San Francisco, Walls attended Galileo High School in San Francisco.
