Tell us which QB you would take. Note before you attack me, the round numbers are guesstimates, of course things could change. I tried to reasonably guess which guys Denver might be interested in and force them into our available selections (no 4th or 5th round).

I would like to see us take Matt Jones, QB Arkansas in the first.

I WOULD like to see them take Adrian McPherson in the 3rd round with the 2nd comp.pick unless they get another pick in there somewhere. I think he will be an exciting player that can run this west coast offense the way it did in 97 & 98. Also I think he will be better then Mauck and Van Pelt as future QBs, hes a lot better then Kanell now. He can scramble and has a rocket arm. the only thing is that writeing of a stolen check, & other off field problems.

Take Frye.

MAC QBs have been pretty good gambles lately.

left him off since he's not projected to be a QB in the pros.

I will be happy if we take either of these two in the 6th or 7th:

I don't think Lefors will be around in the 6th, but that would be a steal. If we had a 4 or a 5, he'd be a great pick. With a #3, that may too big a reach.

Ditto. I also wouldn't mind Walter if he was there with one of the comp picks.

where's the "we have an opportunity to round out an already very good football team with a few key area's of need and therefore i wouldnt even consider a stupid move like drafting a qb on the first day"?

thats the option i like ???

That would probably be the "other" option. Besides, no one says it has to be day 1, there are several day 2 options there.

There are other reasons to draft a QB than to replace Jake as well, like:
1) Depth. Does Danny Kannel, BVP or Mauck sound appealing?
2) Future. Jake won't play forever. If we don't get a guy to develop we will have to sink some FA $$$$ into our next QB.
3) Options. I know it could never happen, but let's say Jake struggles over the next year or two, we need to have a real option. I'm sick of the thought that we don't have any options so we must stick with what we have.
4) Game of Chance. Picks in round 3 and after are 50/50 at best. Example: We trade our #3 in 2003 for 2 #4s, passing up an opportunity to get Simms. Now both of those #4s are off our roster and we passed on an opportunity to get a potential future QB.

No QB this year. Too many other needs.

seemed simple enough to me.

...and yes, as far as BACKUPS go, danny kannel is acceptable. it could be alot worse.
bottom line is that 9 of 10 teams main philosphy with backups is pray to God the starter stays healthy.
considering we can fill some important holes in other area's, im okay with that philosophy here too.
we have improved, and we can continue to improve.
wasting a draft pick on a kid that will be 3rd on the depth chart if HES LUCKY isnt my idea of a smart pick.

Draft Matt Jones as a WR/QB. He would be 3rd string and free up an extra roster spot.

I wouldn't mind Andrew Walter - ASU with one of the comp picks. This was a QB forcasted to be a late 1st if he didn't get injured. Has the best arm of all QBs in this draft IMO.

Only if Walter, who could become an average starter or Greene who is an ideal backup are still around in the 6th or 7th. First four picks need to be big guys including a big WR.

Frye in the 2nd. Mcpherson is pretty damn intresting though if he's around for our comp picks.

Jason White. Winner, faster then people think now. Smart with the football and has a good arm. I hate pumping OU players too but I wouldn't mind Perkins and Clayton as well.

I hear Matt Jones can long snap it to himself then punt the ball, use is god like speed and get down there and return his own punt. I think that the team that drafts him should lose 4 pick if not more because of everything he can do.

Instead of plays on his wristband, this immature knucklehead scribbles some girl's name on there. Chris Rix in a nutshell.
