I have a great sports bar that will likely support us with a large Broncos Giants Saturday tailgate bash. Meck, I'll send out e mails to you and him shortly.

Meck, contact Joe Cahn right away because you might be able to get the Commish to attend this game also.

If I can tell Miami Mike that we have the OF1 bus as well as the Comisioner of Tailgating coming, he may really pump this thing up.

Also, since it's October 23rd, we should be in the beginning/middle of the World Series, which should add to the sports bar juice. Perhaps the Yankees will be home and OF1 could swing by the House that Ruth built.

This Sports bar owner also believes you could set up shop in the Hotel parking lot, adjacent to the hotel/sports bar, though we'll have to finalize.

We should get a tentative head count by July 1st, so we can pump this thing up.

Cool, it will be a great time and I encourage everyone interested to let it be known if they want to go.

This place I have in mind is a 20 minute drive to the Meadowlands, and is the best sports bar in New Jersey. It is the 10 West Sportz Bar and Grille at the Ramada Inn in East Hanover, NJ.

The guy who runs the place, Miami Mike, is a psycho Dolphins fan, who does a great job catering to alot of different fan bases. His bar has dozens of signed Dolphins jersies, memorabilia, etc., and he has a full time DJ playing tunes during all of the commercial breaks. He has 30 TV's and has every game possible.

He told me he would print flyers and distribute them a few weeks in advance to promote a Saturday Afternoon/Night Broncos Giants tailgate party. He would solicit alot of Giants fans to attend as well and might promote the OF1 bus.

The 10 West Sportz Bar is connected to a Ramada Inn, where the standard room rate is $109 per night, which is very rare for Metro NY. The rooms are not 4 star, but who cares, as it will be a great party.

But enough people need to be interested to make it worth while. If we only have 8 Broncos fans there, I would not have this guy promote a Broncos Giants tailgate. We would need a good turnout/headcount wearing colors to make it worthwhile.

So if you think you'd be interested, let us know so we can get a tentative headcount. Still plenty of time, but I would love to see this go down.

But on other days, it is your typical Sports Bar, just better. It has been voted in several East Coast publications as one of the best Sports Bars in the New York Metro area.

Ok gang, plans are falling nicely in place for the game in New York. We will have a very full weekend of things to do.

Friday - Meck, Disco and OF1 will be at my house helping to host a party in my driveway-backyard for my Pee Wee Broncos football team. Hopefully broncobum will come along to man the grills. Others welcome but PM me with any interest.

Saturday Afternoon - OF1 will drive my boys to their Pee Wee football game in grand style.

Saturday 6PM - we will be arriving at our hotel-sports bar for a night of partying. I have a great spot right in front of the sports bar reserved for OF1, and the bar manager said we can pretty much do as we please.

The bar will be the 10 West Sportz Bar and Grill, which is connected to the Ramada Inn on Route 10 in East Hanover, New Jersey. The more Broncos fans the better.

Sunday AM - we will arrive at Giants Stadium at approximately 10:30AM for a 4:15PM kickoff. We will have OF1 side by side with another Broncos fan bus. That being the travel bus for the Denver Broncos Quarterback Club. We will have 100 feet of parking space roped off in Lot 14 of the Meadowlands Parking Lot.

As a small story of interest, I ran into Jim Fassel's son last night at the bar we will be partying at on Saturday Night. He will be there on Saturday Night the 22nd, and is looking forward to seeing OF1, etc. He also is very open to talking about John Elway and his Dad's days in Denver. He was John and Janet's ringbearer at their wedding 21 years ago.

Ok B-love here is our plan to NY as of right now........

Ok Disco and I set a plan in place today. We are leaving Denver at about 4:00am which should put us in St. Louis late afternoon. We'll kick it there that night and push on to the next city WED. I need to follow up with BroncoBum to see if we are picking him up. It's likely we could make it to Philly by the end of WED. We'd pull into NY Thursday around Noon.

I just spoke to the secretary of the Broncos QB club. They have 40 members coming to this game. They are trying to see if they can reschedule their drop off time to the game so they can tailgate. I'm expecting a call back from their president later today.

LOT 14 is going to be rocking! I think I'd like to try and get in the lot before 10:30 though. I'm thinking 10:00am if not sooner! Worst case we can sit outside the gate to get in and wait. There is never enough time in the parking lot!

To be honest Mock most are just giddy with the way Manning has played in his second season. The offense isn't to big of a concern for them, they're big problem is the defense. Especially the fact that both of the cornerbacks seem to be busts. We should find out plenty this week when they play the Cowpokes.

For whatever it's worth, I put in for the tickets that the Broncos get from the Giants. They are not always all used by Bronco staff and/or players and any- unused tickets are typically returned to the home club a week or so before the game. I've gone to the Ravens/Broncos playoff game couple years back using that route.

Anyway, I've asked that we be given a shot at those tickets before they are returned to the Giants, assuming there are any not spoken for.

It's a long shot according to the Bronco ticket office since New York tickets are usually in demand, but it's worth a try. If there are any, we should get 1st crack at them since I have a very low priority number (3 digit). The request is in my name for the OM.

Major issue is that we won't know until probably 4 days before the game. Let me know if you're interested and I'll, in turn, post any news from the Bronco ticket office. By the way, the tickets I had for the Ravens game were not great.

Also if anyone else has contacted the Broncos with the same request, let me know.

I have a great sports bar that will likely support us with a large Broncos Giants Saturday tailgate bash. Meck, I'll send out e mails to you and him shortly.

Meck, contact Joe Cahn right away because you might be able to get the Commish to attend this game also.

If I can tell Miami Mike that we have the OF1 bus as well as the Comisioner of Tailgating coming, he may really pump this thing up.

Also, since it's October 23rd, we should be in the beginning/middle of the World Series, which should add to the sports bar juice. Perhaps the Yankees will be home and OF1 could swing by the House that Ruth built.

This Sports bar owner also believes you could set up shop in the Hotel parking lot, adjacent to the hotel/sports bar, though we'll have to finalize.

We should get a tentative head count by July 1st, so we can pump this thing up.

They are not always all used by Bronco staff and/or players and any- unused tickets are typically returned to the home club a week or so before the game. I've gone to the Ravens/Broncos playoff game couple years back using that route.

Anyway, I've asked that we be given a shot at those tickets before they are returned to the Giants, assuming there are any not spoken for.

It's a long shot according to the Bronco ticket office since New York tickets are usually in demand, but it's worth a try. If there are any, we should get 1st crack at them since I have a very low priority number (3 digit). The request is in my name for the OM.

I exchanged e mails with former Broncos WR Jack Dolbin. He has two tickets to the game this Sunday and is trying to make it to our tailgate on Sunday. I think he will.

Jack played for the Broncos from 1975-1979 and was a starting Receiver on our 1977 Orange Crush Super Bowl team.

Jack's career ended in week 4 of the 1979 season during Craig Morton's famous comeback against Seattle. Morton relieved Norris Weese at a 34-10 deficit, and had thrown a Tackle Eligible TD pass to Dave Studdard to make it 34-17.

On the next Denver drive, Fullback Jim Jensen went off the left side for 14 yards. However, as he was going down he fell into the right knee of Dolbin. Jack would never play again.

Jack was also one of the few genuine stars of the ill fated World Football league in 1974. Jack had over 50 receptions for the Chicago Fire, which led his team.

Come to the Meadowlands on Sunday and in addition to having a great time, you can meet another Orange Crusher.

So we are in St. Louis now! We arrived an hour behind schedule but all is well. Disco's group (about 25 or so) are here!!!!

OF1 is running fine. The speedometer went out about 5 minutes into the trip but other than that it was a quick 13hrs from Denver to here.

Meck and OF1 will be taking my ESM Pee Wee Broncos football team to their game in style on Saturday afternoon.

Our game should end at around 3PM or 3:30PM, and we will then start the trek from Long Island back to New Jersey at that time. It should be a two hour trip so my guess is we'll get to Miami Mike's 10 West Sportz Bar at the Ramada Inn in East Hanover by 6-6:30PM or so.

Game 1 of the World Series, lots of Broncos fans, good grub, cold beer and OF1.

Should be a great weekend.

Everyone interested get there Saturday Night; no excuses. We'llhave plenty of rooms for people to crash.

Ok...we just got off the phone with BroncoBum B-love. We found a way to save some time. We are going to leave St. Louis in the next hour or so and pick Bum up at his house tomorrow. I didn't realize he lived 2.5 hours to Indy. We'll actually be closer to NY by going to Fort Wayne where he lives and only 675 miles to NY. Mapquest says its about 10 hours from there. The upside is we can have Bum on the bus by 2:00pm if not sooner which means we will be in NY area by midnight! We can catch some sleep and push on thru to long island and be at your pad in plenty of time to catch some lunch at the Hooters that you mentioned!

Ok...we just got off the phone with BroncoBum B-love. We found a way to save some time. We are going to leave St. Louis in the next hour or so and pick Bum up at his house tomorrow. I didn't realize he lived 2.5 hours to Indy. We'll actually be closer to NY by going to Fort Wayne where he lives and only 675 miles to NY. Mapquest says its about 10 hours from there. The upside is we can have Bum on the bus by 2:00pm if not sooner which means we will be in NY area by midnight! We can catch some sleep and push on thru to long island and be at your pad in plenty of time to catch some lunch at the Hooters that you mentioned!

Philly.......we just don't have the time to get thru Philly. Maybe on the way back. See you in NY!

Philly, this sports bar has a Madden night every Wednesday. They have a full 32 team league and they play actual games once/week.

They are supposed to have the Playstation 2's hooked up on Saturday, so we can throw down some Madden. I've lost my gaming skills but I'd still like to get out there and try to compete.

I am bringing a videocassette with me that the Bar Manager will agree to play on a large TV for us.

It's a 3 hour video which shows every sick play made by the great John Elway, during his first 10 years in the league. All of his TD passes, every crazy scramble, every missile thrown off the back foot, etc.

I will also bring some Gradishar stuff including the HOF ballot film thrown together by Steve Sabol's boys.

We'll have World Series game 1 on TV as well as College Football, NHL Hockey, and some Broncos stuff.

When we pulled up to one of the tollways Bronx we missed the cash lane so a NY cop walked up to the bus and said "Oh so you Broncos fans don't have an express pass eh?" Anyhow she charged us 13 bucks to get over the bridge we thought that was a little much and maybe she was on the take. Turns out she wasn't.

We got some strange looks rolling into the big city. _i_O_i_

You know what...it's the parents that making coaching very difficult...My brother-in-law quit coaching for that reason...He also quit teaching...(He was coaching high school basketball...and he was getting teams with not that much talent in the playoffs and state tournaments...)

He had parents that had kids playing that weren't that good...but yet they would want their kid to play more (even though he was getting playing time) AND want the team to win...Parents can't always have it all.

I toyed with the idea of driving down to meet the OManers and see OF1. Meck gave me the details in case I could swing it.....even though it was a huge longshot. I told him I'd be lying if I didn't at least give it consideration.

I can't do it because I have my kids part of this weekend.

I almost feel guilty because Meck and the guys drove like 1,300 miles or whatever to get over here and it'd only be like 250 miles for me.

Plus, the Pats have a bye week ....it was damn near perfect.

Funny, my first ever live bronco game was Broncos@Giants in '86. My Pop's took me. Now, almost 20 years later, Nicky's first ever Bronco game will be in the same exact place. Pretty cool if you ask me.
