Hey, Last year we stayed at the Warwick Hotel in Denver...it is a little more expensive, but it more than makes up for the fact that we didn't need a taxi all weekend...it has a shuttle to and from the airport. In case anyone is interested...and Duffy's and shopping are right down the street...

You better break out the Orange Pimp suit!

Hotrod you are more than welcome to kick it at the bus compound. That way you won't miss all the festivities and 90% of the tailgate this time!

Count in the SoCal group for this game. We will be coming in for the Charger game the week before and spend the entire week in Denver. Hummmm Just so happens that me and Broncogals 12th anniversary is the 26th!

This is exactly the game I was looking at also....I was thinking of flying in on Sat. night, catching the Rockies vs The Giants @ 1:05 PM on Sunday....helping pack the bus that night, tailgate & game on Monday and then flying out Tuesday afternoon.

What say you Sass, Mr. & Mrs Blue, Pez??

Last year when Mr. Blue & I went, I got the tickets thru USA Today, believe it or not, and they were pretty decent seats on the somewhat short notice we had...didn't have to pay thru the nose for them either.

Doesn't matter really, you could do that, eBay, go thru the official site or hit the ticket window or scalpers on gameday....all in all, when it comes to the Rockies game, I really don't anticipate any ticket problems, no matter which way you chose to go.

I'm just about finalized for this....clearing it at work is no problem this far in advance. Rockies tickets shouldn't be any trouble either....we'll coordinate on those in the near future.....anyway we can get you to go Blueflame?

Oioooh yeh - btw...The other day I went into a sports collectibles store & they had Bronco (and Rockies) nail tattoos...

So this year, we could actually get solid colored nails & put the nail tattoos on... :) I'll pick up a stack of 'em - they were only 1$ per pack...

I'll try to get ahold of PositiveSmiles soon too...To let her know what the plan is.

Not a problem.....it should be all firmed up shortly, just have to get a count of who's interested and whatnot.....not a big thing, we have all the time in the world for that (unless the Rox become contenders) ....I'll keep ya posted.

After taking my wife 3 times to KC to see the Broncos I just might have to bring her to Mile High II so she can enjoy the game without sitting with the corn fed, brain dead, & inbred chef fans. By the way this is celebrating my 25th season as a Bronco fan and it only gets bigger & better every season.

Well myself, CBF1, Broncogal, Disco, Blue Damsel, and some others all went to Elways one night before a game last season. Pretty cool restaurant but their really isn't anything Elway about the place to be honest. I think there was a couple jerseys around the bar but that's it. The food is great but the prices are pretty steap.

I can't recommend Crush games, and John's automobile dealearships enough but when it comes to his restaurant I have others I would recommend. BTW I got gas at one John's gas stations the other day. I didn't even know he owned any but apparently he has two of them. I was at the counter buying something and I saw a pic of him behind the counter. Lady said the Elway owns the place. Anyhow nice clean gas station with a little better than average gas price. :) There ya go John......now you can't say I was dissing all your business ventures.

I guess what I'm saying is I'd pass on going back to Elways myself but as the time get's closer we can make some plans for that evening.

That's cool. I'll have all my crap in order this time so we'll just be hanging, eating, and putting the finishing touches on the tailgate stuff.

Hmm......maybe this might be a good game to do up another pig being that it's a monday night deal. If we start the sucker around 8:00pm and smoke her real slow she'll be ready to burst by about 2:00pm the next day.

I'm taking the tailgate food to another level this year. I've already started sprouting corn, acorn squash, pumpkins, watermelons, cantelopes, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, onions etc...etc etc. for the tailgates this year. I'm doing a garden 5 times the size that I've ever attempted. Should have enough corn to feed an army. :militia:

I'll be dropping sprouts in the ground right around May 5th.

Also I seeded the fields with some nice dry land pasture seeds and alfafa in anticipation of moving in a couple cattle to fatten up for some tailgate beef.

I'm hoping I can cut most of the Costco trips out of the loop this year and go farm fresh.

hmm Wonder what the neighbors would think if I moved in a couple turkeys around August or so. ;D

Good thing is some of the bus construction crew will be in town May 12th and be staying for atleast a week or more to work on the bus. We should be able to get alot more work done.

I think you must have way too much time on your hands. On the other hand there's nothing like "FRESH" supplies. I've already planted most of this years' crop, but my small garden isn't large enough to support tailgating supplies and livestock. I'll have to make it a point to come out and see you this year. Maybe for the pre-KC tailgate party.

We're still looking into all our options for travel. The extra days off (both before and after the game) give us enough time that the decisions will be tougher to make. :D

I'm getting excited about the trip, too. I've already decided that nothing red goes into my suitcase... not even a WSU Cougars shirt. Hubby thinks that's a bit much, but oh, well. It's all about the mojo. LOL

Paymah has a lot of potential... and with Herndon leaving for more $$ in Seattle, we did need CB depth. Perhaps one of our new rookies can take over return duties. I hate seeing Rod back there.

Here's Paymah's nfl.com draft profile:

Most likely everything I pack will be:
a) blue b) orange or c) have a Bronco logo on it. ;D

I have the killer weekend planned for that weekend. That weekend North Dakota State University continues its recent domination of the Big Sky conference as they travel to Montana State to beat down the Bobcats on the 24th. I might even get to see my new cousin play for the Manhattan Tigers on friday night that week. Then on Saturday evening and Sunday I'm driving to Denver. Hopefully be there mid day sunday. Rest and recover. And then have some fun monday before driving back to Fargo. Total miles figured for a weekend...2300 miles. Talk about fun.

The more I look at the Buffs schedule this year, the less likely it will be that they play on a New Year's game anyway... Maybe I can get lucky and get them to play in the Holiday Bowl right before the SD game so I can get the best of both worlds :)
That would be fun anyway...I've always wanted to go bowling. We could have an orangemane tailgate for the Holiday bowl...would be especailly sweet if someone orange was in the game. Maybe I should just volenteer to go back to Iraq so I can afford season tickets someday.

As you guys know, I made mention of the fact that some of us are going to catch the last Rockies home game on the Sunday before the MNF game against KC. Some of you expressed interest in joining us for this so I thought I'd post this to find out exactly how much they were willing to spend on tickets and where they wanted to sit. If nobody really cares, then I'm sure we could get a block of seats at the cheapest price available...if people just wanna meet up at the game and sit somewhere else, then that's cool as well....whatever the general concensus is, is fine by me.

Here's a link containing seating and ticket info:http://colorado.rockies.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/col/ballpark/seating_pricing.jsp

I'm sure that availability won't be an issue at all....I'm just looking for a general idea as I'll probably take care of this Rox ticket thing sometime in August just because of coming in from so far away, I like to have "ticket in hand" and one less thing to worry & stress over....something I'm sure everyone will understand.

So, if you're still interested in going to this game and sitting with myself, Sass & the Blues....pick out a price range and seats you're comfortable with and once I hear from everyone and get a concensus, we'll go from there.

Mrs. Bum and I will be there as stated earlier. We got a great deal on plane tickets and will be flying in on Saturday to spend a few days in CO w/ my brother. We are planning on being there early to help set up and I'm volunteering my expertise on the BBQ as I've done before. Can't wait to cook up those steaks, brats and whatever we come up with to eat!!! :charge: :charge: :charge:
See you all there!!!

I understand about the ticket thing, truth be told, I'm actually a little nervous about it myself being Den's only MNF game and all from an availability standpoint, but it'll all work out I'm sure.

Hey, were gonna check out the last Rockies homegame that Sunday @ 1 PM.....Meck talked me into getting tix off the street on gameday and I guess a bunch of OF1, Club Crush and OManer's are gonna go to it....any chance you might be interested?

The "PLAN" is called "Operation Escape from K.C" and we did this last year for the home opener on Sunday night and it worked out well.

My only regrets of the entire weekend was I thought it was too hot that weekend in Denver. I've been getting cooked in KC for about a week now, and I'm always looking forward to the cooler temps in beautiful Colorado. It didn't happen that weekend.

We made our way to pay tribute to OF1 and we HAD to arrive at the one time when Meck wasn't around.
I did get a tour of OF1, and pics of my best friend beating on the Chief fan on a stick that was being dragged around in effigy.

Anyway, my Buddy of 20 years and I have been traveling to Bronco games together for years now.
Most of the time, he flies out here and we go to the Broncos vs. Chiefs game at Arrow-Thru-The-Head.
Well, our last few experiences at this dump have been kind of ugly. The fans are more in your face, and less likely to be congenial and just be fans.

But, they are not even close to the ugliness we experienced in St. Louis for the opening Monday night game of the 2000 season.
They were the most vicious, openly racist fans I have ever experienced. BAR NONE.

Then there was the Monday night inaugural game against the Giants. Easy Ed went down that night, and the Towers the following morning.

Anyway, my buddy now lives in Phoenix.

Last year on Wednesday night, he flew to K.C. and upon exiting the plane he jumped right into the back of the Ford Expedition we rented, and we headed directly to Denver.

Why did he not fly directly into Denver, and negate a 10 hour road trip to Denver from Kansas City you may ask?

It's kind of hard to transport several cases of beer, three bottles of high end tequila, and other Bronco party essentials on your average flight these days.
Security, and other measures make it way too risky to travel so liberally these days without attracting scrutiny.
And I don't have a problem with that. You just have to adjust.

We are all down for anything that weekend offers in the way of partying and tailgating.
Golf, Rocks Game, pre-tailgate party, whatever.

There is a standing offer should anyone want us to transport some KC BBQ.
Indeed, Kansas City is the Newark, New Jersey of the mid-west. But, you can not argue with the fact that the in-breds here make some truly fine BBQ.
So, if you desire some slabs of ribs, some burnt ends, BBQ beans whatever, let me know and I can hook you up.

We are all looking forward to tipping a few with our 'Mane friends, seeing the now fully painted OF1, and joining everyone in the festive atmosphere that is Bronco-Mania.

We'll have a real live Chief fan with us that we can tie to a stick, and beat the crap out of!
Actually, he's a real nice guy, and he had a great time at last years game. He fell in love with our new stadium.

P.S.

Were also looking for a vacation home in Denver to rent for a week. Having a house is SO much better than being stuck in a hotel room.

Anyone got any ideas?
I've been all over the web and most of the properties are way too pricey (and non-smoking).
I did find this little gem however.
And speaking of pricey! How about 10 grand a WEEK!

Check this site out. It's what I use. Not sure how many Denver rentals there are but it's one of the best if not the best vacation home rental site on the net!

Right next to OF1 and ClubCrush's tailgate vehicle! Lot C starts at the white line on the west side of the bus. That is a cash lot on a first come first serve basis. I believe it's 40 bucks to park there. There are cheaper lots available also but CR-V is where the party is! :militia:

Are there any set in stone plans for that weekend other then the Rox game? Is everyone getting together on Sunday and watch the games or something somewhere?

Meck77

Well here is the deal. We've been asked to participate in a fundraiser again similar to the one we did with the Nuggets/Buckner foundation. For whatever the reason some of the Broncos players couldn't make the last one but they are planning another one on the Sat of the Chiefs weekend in the same place @ Club Rise in lodo.

The players are supposed to be there @ 5:00pm. I told the organizer of the event that OF1 could be there in the early afternoon.

The plan for Sat was to do some golfing in the morning/mingle with the players/fundraise sat evening. I could swing you guys down to the event if you want to go. Then we could scatter around lodo and do some bar hopping. Obviously if people want to do something else Sat it's no big deal but I went ahead and committed OF1 to help out because it's a good cause and I figured people would gravitate downtown anyway.

The Rocks game is Sunday afternoon. Some have expressed inteterest in having a pre-tailgate bbq in the bus garage afterwards but I'm open to suggestions. We could pile up in the bus and cruise around. Makes no difference to me.

Tailgate is Monday!

I'm open to any suggestions and OF1 will be available starting Friday to pick you guys up from the airport if you need a ride.

I just had to have a flight that arrives at 9 PM Sat. night...thanks American Airlines...YOU SUCK!!!!!!!! (with their constant "updating" I'll never fly them ever again).

Sass & I are still making the Rox game...will probably go early as to catch some BP.....but I'm not gonna bring that up till next week to find out what others are doing...

Still very interested in any pre-tailgate thing that night...Sass will have the cell phone in hand, we both can be reached from there.

By the way, TJ had mentioned that he will be flying in on Sunday too. And I believe CBF1 is going to be around the area too so we should be able to have a killer time that evening.

We can do it sunday night for sure. Already have wood stock piled. It make sense to have the gathering then. Trying to talk to people at a crowded downtown Denver bar is a pain not to mention they charge $6.00 for a darn beer. We'll open up the bus bar. :charge:

Do we have exact details like when/where/who?

Where: Public House bar on Blake street in lodo.
When: OF1 will be there around 2pm-3pm? Depends on what AK says about the golf deal.
Player in attendance: Not 100% confirmed but I can do this. My understanding is Plummer, Wilson, Rod etc. Don't quote me on that til I verify it.

Players are supposed to be around there @ 2:30pm I believe. I gotta make some calls to tighten up the details.

Oh we'll also be cooking a pig for this tailgate like the Raider game last year. The name of this pig will be "Dick" instead of "Al".

I would like to take a trip out to go thru a game, but the logistics are not good. Plus, the security is horrible, they wouldn't let me bring in my knives and shotgun.

Soft-sided bags no larger than 12" x 12" x 12" -- all bags will be measured and subject to search prior to entry. We highly recommend clear, plastic grocery bags to facilitate security screening at the gates.
Factory-sealed, soft-sided plastic bottles containing non-alcoholic beverages.
Empty plastic water or Nalgene bottles.
Small, compact umbrellas are permitted; however, large golf umbrellas are not permitted.
All items must fit into a 12" x 12" x 12" template at the gate through which you enter the stadium.

Prior to entering stadium gates, all patrons will be subject to security screening, including pat downs and inspection of bags or other items carried in. The level of screening may be modified on an event-by-event basis at the discretion of INVESCO Field at Mile High management. Ticket holders refusing security screening procedures will be denied admittance to the event. Please plan on arriving at gates no later than half an hour prior to the event start time to ensure you are in your seat on time.

Express lanes are designated at each gate for patrons who do not have any bags. Small purses will be permitted through express lanes. Signage will be provided at the gates directing patrons to "express" and bag check lines.

As far as a schedule goes this is what I was thinking.

Friday some people are coming into town. We'll be making a couple runs to the airport, working around the shop, going out that night? I'm not real sure who is getting here Friday.

*edit* Golf for saturday morning has been scrapped. Saturday day is wide open. We may infact get to the charity event a bit sooner now.

Sat-OF1 is leaving my place @ 2:30 for the charity gig downtown with the Broncos. Bar hopping afterwards in lodo.

Sunday-Rockies game. Not sure what time that starts.
Sunday night-Start the pig around 10:00pm/Bonfire/Final touches for the tailgate (not much to do really). Ice down beer, drink beer, eat some BBQ!

Monday-Tailgate lot opens at Noon. Wish it was earlier. We'll probably leave the shop around 11:00 AM and try to get in early (This never works) but we keep trying. ;D

6:00pm. Gametime!

Post game tailgate til...........?

This is the basic schedule but the crew here in Denver is flexible.

Cool...he's also bringing it this year..

I'm bringing in my behemouth of a camera again, but I am a bit tentative since this sucker it BIG! And I'd hate to have to store it on the bus... Meck, Disco, have you guys had any experience with bringing in cameras to the stadium?

By the way, I'm also volunteering for airport pickup duty if anyone needs a ride too...

I'll be at the game. Too bad I'm giving a chefs fan a ride from the airport to the game.

Simon says the Chefs suck.

It's at the public house bar in lodo. It's basically a block south of Coors field on Blake St. I-25 exit 20th......make a right on Blake.

It's a real cool bar with great specials and great owners. Lodo has been missing a place like this for awhile.

Sunday-Rockies game. Not sure what time that starts.

It's a 1:05 PM start and fan appreciation day....whatever that means.

Expect a larger than normal crowd for that and the fact that they're playing the Giants with Baroid Bonds back in the lineup and chasing Ruth's record.

I'll boo him extra loud for Slap....not a problem

I will not be there, but please Omaners give them some hell. The crowd is a huge factor in these types of games and we need you to be at full force.

Go Broncos!!!
