I'm still trying to get everything hashed out for the weekend, but need to see who will be around on Friday or Saturday night so I can make plans... What is everyone's schedule look like?
By the way, anyone up for heading to the hills to see the fall colors while we are there?

Sure...if we can find the time! We get in Sat. night...plan on Duffy's more than likely for a beer and a bite and then it's the Rockies game Sunday at 1...we plan to get there a little early and then the tailgate/game Monday night....but the Cheesecake Factory is a must in there sometime...
What's your schedule Pez?

Well, I've got family stuff on Friday afternoon, then a kicking trip to Boulder that evening to suck back some Fat Tire (god its been ages) up on the Hill, then Saturday I'll be at a CU vs Miami watchparty over at one of my bud's houses in Louisville. After that, I'm pretty much game for anything.
I do think I am skipping the Rox game. I've been to plenty of them over the years and have NO interest in seeing Barroid at all...

Maybe a morning? (Yeah Hogan...I do know you're not an am person...) Sunday or Monday? Does anyone know if there is shopping on Sundays? We have to get in the Souvenir thing...;D If not, Sunday am might be an option?

I'm thinking there'll be time in between the Rox game and the thing at Meck's for basic merch shopping....mainly because I can't see the baseball game going for more than three hours tops (although I've been wrong before).....I think that's what we should bank upon Hon.

Hey guys! I'll be there and ready to get the mojo rolling before the game! I'm excited to some of you that already know again, and also to meet some of the new folks from the Mane for the first time. I'm trying to buy something orange for the game and am leaning toward an Orange Bailey Jersey. Whatever I pick will be orange for sure. Go broncos!

I just got confirmation that Rod Smith, Mike Anderson, George Foster, and a couple other players will be at the charity event. KOA radio will be spreading the airwaves about it along with another station (can't recall which one). I was down at public house last night talking with the owner and OF1's space is reseved. We might try and make it down there a bit earlier being that the event starts at 11:00am. It all depends on when the pig farm opens. We have to go pick it up and ice it down then we can go.
This event is open to all Broncos fans who want to help out the Katrina victims. Basically all you need is a little time and energy. Not to mention it's a great time to work side by side some Broncos players and be apart of the Denver community.
Meck, do you know how long the charity event will last? Just wondering because we won't get into Denver until at least mid-afternoon.

Well I think it's running until late into the evening. I'm waiting on a call back to get final word on everything.
We arrive Saturday afternoon then heading to lodo for the fund raiser. Sunday we are hitting the Giants game then going up to see the buffaloes at Genesee pass then up to Idaho springs for drinks at the Buffalo restaurant then back down to Aurora to Caldonia's for dinner. then to Mecks for the pregame party. Monday going to Mecks for the drive to the tailgater. Pretty full weekend for sure. Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Can someone post an itinerary for this weekend?
What we are doing and when?
Golf?
Mecks pre-tailgate-tailgate party with an address?
Rockies game on Sunday?
There is so much to do this weekend.
I'll be in town Thursday morning.
We are looking to play some golf and PARTY.
A list of everything happening, in one spot, would be most welcome.

Friday:
There are a few maners getting to my pad Friday night. If you are coming into town friday hit me up on my cell if you want to meet up.
Saturday:
Golf is still on but on a limited scale. PM ak1971 if you are interested in golfing.
Charity event with the Broncos is at the 1900 block of Blake Street (between club rise and public house). OF1 will be there at 1:30pm. My understanding is the Broncos players will be there @2:30pm. It runs late into the evening but I'd suggest trying to get there as close to 2:30pm as possible.
Saturday evening: OF1 will be parked in lodo for awhile. Saw some posts about people going to Duffys. Disco has a deal worked out with http://www.publichousedenver.com/contact.cfm that you can drink all you want for 20 bucks. In lodo you can spend that on 3 decent drinks so it's a pretty good deal. Either way the gathering point is @ the public house in the early afternoon and people can scatter from there.
Sunday-Rockies game (this is Hogan's dept) I believe the game is at 12:30pm. I think it would be a good idea to meet up somewhere nearby atleast 1 hour before the game to gather the group. Hogan? Sassy? (this is your baby here)
Sunday evening- Gathering at my house. BBQ, music, bon fire, final tailgate prep. If you need directions drop me a pm. We'll be back at the shop around 5:00pm so anytime after that is fine to head on over.
Monday-Tailgate @ noon Lot CR-V space #31.
That is the schedule as far as what I know but need some input from the Mr. and Mrs Hogan on the baseball game. ROFL!

Mr. & Mrs. eh? Ha! Well, if I may take the liberty of speaking for the Mrs., then lemme proceed with gameplan thus far (all of which is more than open and subject to change as the group sees fit).
I think I'm gonna try to get in or near the ballpark by noon. The game is a 1:05 PM start. I originally hoped to see some BP, but it probably won't happen. We're gonna have to haggle with scalpers here, so the more gifted barterers amongst us may be called upon. It's the last homegame, appreciation day, it's the Giants and flackseed Bonds
is back and pursuing Ruth's record.....so be prepared for possible unforseen costs. Mr. Blue and Blueflame are staying @ or near Meck's I believe, so communication thru the Blues to Sassy & I is not a problem (I think).....if everyone who wants to go can come up with a meeting spot prior to getting tickets, then that is cool by me as well.
No biggie, we have a couple of days to work on this.
Sassy & I don't hit Denver till late Sat. night (again, thanks to American Airlines...bastards!) so we were figuring on just getting a quick bite @ Duffys and then calling it a night....again, that may be subject to change....it all depends upon what she wants or is willing to do.
Anyways, we're very open to ideas and change here....if you guys wanna meet up @ Coors or a bar nearby or something, let us know and we will accomadate....I just don't wanna miss any of the game is all.

Meeting around noon for the ball game works. I drove by a night game at Coors the other night and there was barely anybody in the ball park on the upperdeck. We can walk around Blake a bit to see what's available or we can all walk up the windo together and get seats. It's not a problem.
As far as the charity event goes I regret to inform you that there is too much miscommunication going on with it to where I do not want to get involved and drag you guys down there either. It will be going on and if you are down there you can go check it out but the bus will not be there. I've heard too many different conflicting things. The Buckner Foundation drive was a huge success a couple weeks ago and alot of money was raised for the Katrina victims but for whatever reason this donation drive doesnt' seem to be coming together as planned.
What we can do is go cruising around in OF1 that night or meet up with you guys downtown.

Anyone coming to Denver should checkout Bill's Sportscollectibiles. They have a huge assortment of Broncos memorobilia as well as other sports and teams. Ya know I was going to make fun of you guys for going to a Rockies game on Sunday afternoon, instead of just hitting the Sports Column across the street and watching the NFL action, but,..........
I remembered I was there in 2001 for the MNF opener against the Giants, and Barroid was in town that weekend as well.
My friends and I went to the Saturday game that weekend, and Barroid only got a seeing eye single in a 1-5 day.
Then the next day my buddies considered going to the Sunday game and sitting in the Rockpile. But I said nah, let's go to the Sports Bar and watch the NFL openers. It was a pretty normal opening day as I recall Chris Weinke and the Panthers got their only win of the year in the Metrodome, as they upset the Vikings. Also Gannon and the Faid beat the Chiefs at Arrowhead.
However as we were drinking away the day at the Sports Column, Barroid was across the street belting three homers against the Rockies. It may have been his only three homer day in the tainted, yet record setting, year, and we missed it.
With that said, I'd still just go watch football and blow off a meaningful baseball game.

Nah, can't swing that one B....not with Denver this weekend and San Diego coming up right after the holidays...decisions had to be made.
About the baseball game, I'm coming from a long way away and I love baseball and ballparks.....so I just figured why not combine a home Rox game with the Broncos game over the course of a weekend? It was a blast last year (Mr. Blue can attest to that). Coming in from as far out as I am, I wanna do as much as possible.
In future years, I'm entertaining the notion of doing the same thing with an Av's game some weekend when the Broncos have a late season home game......if you're into hockey, there's no reason really not to.....same goes with the Rox IMO.

Just an FYI...I spoke with Public House and they reserved a spot for OF1 infront of their bar for Saturday night. We will be parking her there at 8:00pm if anyone wants to get some grub and a cold one. We could venture off to any of 30 other bars from there. Sassy Duffy's is not far of walk from here and your cheesecake factory is even closer! If we don't see you there we'll catch the baseball crowd back at the public house at Noon. If we don't see you there at noon we'll see you back at my house for the pre-game party. If we don't see you there then hopefully we'll atleast catch you at the pig roast in the lot!
Go Broncos!

Hey Meck...do you have an address/directions from Duffy's to there
This is Saturday night right?
Meck77
09-23-2005, 11:36 AM
well....from Duffy's you simply hop on the free 16th street shuttle towards lodo (north). Walk a couple blocks north from there to get to Blake. Hang a right and walk towards Coors field. Public house is on the right hand side just before 20th street. You can't miss it. Total its about a 5 minute shuttle ride and maybe 10 minutes of walking.
Yes Saturday!
8:00pm Public House (hang here or cruise around). If we gather some people up we can even drive off from there if everyone wants to.
Sunday=Noon back at Public house to meet up for baseball game.
Sunday Evening=My house for pre-tailgate rituals
Monday=Noon at the tailgate!
We finally have a plan!

Meck,
I just overnighted a good load of Broncos Old School tapes to you, which will hopefully arrive tomorrow. Will someone be there to get it??
Anyway, about 25 games including the 77 stuff, and a number of games from 78-81. I also threw in my copy of The Drive, 73 Orange Monday (the first Broncos MNF game), 91 Broncos Chiefs, etc.
Some cool ****.
Enjoy during your Sunday hang with the O-Mane peeps brother. Actually, do you get outdoor TV action off of OF1??
That might be cool to show the 1973 first Broncos MNF game during your 2005 MNF tailgate, if you could display it outdoors.
Again thanks to you and Disco and all you do for Broncomania. I have converted these games to DVD and don't need the VHS any longer.
I never thought I'd part with these for free, but you deserve it bro. Hopefully it will make your roadies a bit more pleasurable.
All I ask is that you hang onto these personally yourself, as I have not fully checked my DVD's as of yet. In case one of them came out bad, I may need to redub at some point.

You da man B-love. Yes we have the outdoor TV operational. We will definetly show 73 game during the tailgate! We also boosted the outdoor sound system to where a Broncos fan could hear the game over 50 yards away...easy.
They go with the bus B-love and the bus goes where Broncos fans are. Consider them a contribution to all Broncos fans as alot of Broncos fans will be able to enjoy our history from OF1.
We will definetly be able to use them on the road as well!
Thank you

OK, I've got good news and bad news.
The tapes are still coming Meck, but they will not arrive until next Thursday.
I had them picked up and intended to overnight thru my work Corporate account. However, we have a mandated maximum price that we cannot go over, and apparently Fed Ex wanted 5 arms and 6 legs to send them overnight.
It got busted down to Ground delivery with a scheduled delivery of 6 days from now.
Anyway, I am sorry and wished I had sent sooner.
But the good news is you will have them for many a tailgate and many an OF1 gathering!!!

Fan Fest:Put on your best fan face if you've got a ticket for Monday nights Bronco game at .......... ..... Mile High.
For the first time in the history of ABC's Monday Night Football, the network will feature fierce fans on our home turf to open the games broadcast.
Ticket holders for the Broncos-Chiefs battle should be in their seats by 6:30 PM to get "coached" in proper orange pom-pom usage (WTF IS THAT?)
Fans in the lower level east side will perform a card stunt showing the Broncos logo.
BE loud and be proud!!!

I woke up this morning and thought I may have taken a wrong turn on the way to Denver and ended up in Seatle. This is like a foggy/soupy funk outside. Welp...
We just pulled in and are setting up in the aprking lot. We have Pezman taking pictures with a camera about the size of my head. In addition, I had pitched a writer at SI to send a photographer over for their annual tailgate issue, so they hired one of the Broncos contracted photographers to hang with us for the day and take pictures.
It's a beautiful day for a tailgate party and some football!

Some pics from last night. I was late getting to OF1 unfortunately, so I missed the pregame fun but I was able to meet up with the crew post game. Good times.
During the game, I ran into a bunch of former players, Karl Mecklenburg, Tyrone Braxton, Tom Jackson, Billy Thompson, KC Clark, David Treadwell, Steve Sewell, Reggie Rivers, Odell Barry, Larry Brunson, Wade Manning and of course Bucky Dilts.
I apoligize for the quality of the pics as they are from my phone. I suspect Pez will have some higher quality pics at some point.

just wanted to say that i was sorry i didnt make it sunday night or after the game monday.
craziness with having to have all our stuff in storage and staying at a hotel, and then last night towards the end of the game i got so sore and stiff i could barely walk.
as much as i wanted to see everyone, i didnt think i'd make it to the bus and then out to our car at pepsi center.
once again not enough time, but it was great to see all of you even if it wasnt a tenth as long as i had hoped for!!
have a safe trip home everyone that came from out of state, and to those in state, ill see you in two weeks for washington.

Just arrived home at 10:30 pm Indiana time. Whew, what a weekend and what an awesome game. Thats a game I'll never forget. What a showcase of what our beloved Broncos are capable of if they play to the full extent of their capabilities. I just hope they can finish the season by playing up to 80 percent of what the did last nite. If they do that, we will be hosting a playoff game next January. It was great meeting everyone again and renewing old friendships. Meck and Disco outdid themselves again and Pez, I can't wait to see all your pics you took. Taco, keep up the great work.
Untill next time.................

Now that was a great weekend! Many thanks go out to Meck & Disco for all they do......if it wasn't for them, the dream of seeing these games amongst the home fans would probably still be unrealized. It was also great to see everyone again from last year and to finally meet more of the Board, from some of the "legends" to some of the newbies........it was my honor and pleasure to do so.
Here's hoping to see you all again either in San Diego or next season in Denver!
GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!

Took the wife to her first game in Denver. Now she is buying more Bronco gear than me. In St. Louis a tailgate for the Rams is a beer with your trunk open with your buddy. She never saw how to tailgate Orangemane style.
As Disco said after the game, "We aren't the kinda guys to say I told ya so,
BUT; we told you so. WOOOO!! The Chiefs were standin on the plane after that ass whoopin. Hilarious!

I think we probably have some good game pics... but have to get the film developed.
On a related note, we took quite a bit of video over the weekend with our camcorder. I can make copies either in VHS or SVCD. If anyone would like a copy of the tape, PM me your mailing address and let me know which format. :D
