I was just thinking back to the days when Denver would play Seattle and some of the great games it produced. Jim Zorn, Dave Kraig, Steve Largent, Chris Warren...

The realignment sucked.

Still remember Elway bowling thru Bosworth for the 1st down, and on the flip side Largent/Kraig picking apart the Denver secondary...

Good times!

I sort of do. Although the new setup is really focused on the more historic, bitter AFC West rivalries. Seattle was useful because we could always count on at least a split and more often than not we would sweep them.

First 200 yard rushing game for Seattle:

Chris Warren 207 yards vs Chiefs 1983...

Somethings never change :)

The only thing is... we still seem to play them every freakin year anyway man. But the good old days of the Kingdome are not missed. Elway always struggled there for some reason. But I do remember the Dave Kreig vs Elway matchups since they were entertaining.

I still think one of my favorite memories of the series is when we rolled into Seattle for a season finale game against them in '84. Both teams were playoff bound but division title was at stake. We stuffed Steve Largent all day and they had to throw the Mike Tice the ball instead... Needless to say we won 34-14 or something similar. That was the biggest rout in that stadium against them as I recall. There was nothing better than watching ol Chuck Knox lose the division title and be forced to play the Fade in the wildcard...

Of course, how can we forget the "Boz" and his laughable days with their organization. Calling out Johnny was sure a bad idea wasnt it? Man, if there was ever a misplaced person on a team, it was him. Why wasnt he a Raider?

And we gave it all up for Larry.

Ray Rhodes:

We had a good chance to stop Oakland...IHOP was cheering from the sidelines and I could hear Deltha out of the back of my ear...

Greg Robinson kept going thru my brain...

Except for that year when the Hawks went 2-14 with the sweep over the Broncos (92? 93?). An old friend of a friend who was a Hawks fan used to bring that up most times I saw him. Of course, I'd be ready with the reply.

"Rick Mirer".

I miss them though... they're probably my second favourite team.
