I loved him in a Broncos uni... and even when he turned to the black and silver, I couldn't hate him... but when he went nuts on his teamate, that about put an end to me liking him.

Breaking Sharpe's arm was the last straw. I went ballistic. No flag at all. **** that asshole. I have never seen such a blatant personal foul in the history of the NFL. The fact of the matter is Sharpe caught the ball one handed and had control. Then Romo BROKE HIS ARM ON PURPOSE. They ruled it an incomplete pass, Shanahan threw the red hankie, and the officials spit in our faces.
One of the most unbelievable plays of all time. God I hate that asshole. (but thanks for the Lombardis)

He wasn't on roids, those were just his wifes "diet" pills.
I loved him here and when he left...Shanny ****ed up when he gave (thats right, he GAVE) his starting spot to the midget Ian Gold and then Romo proceeded to finish off Brian Griese.
thanks again Romo, for bringing some nastiness to this town and helping win back to back SuperBowls. and last but not least, ending the SOB era in Denver.
Bill and Julie (Mrs Romanowski) Were a couple of the nicest people you could ever talk to after the games. Bill would always sign for fans win, lose or draw and was just a great guy. Did it suck he went to the faiders.... YES, but he made up for it by pimp slapping fellow faider player. Romo played his ass off for this organization what more could a fan ask for?

That is true. Infact I even burned an autographed jersey of his two years ago at the tailgate. Raider fans were screaming....no don't do it! It was funny as hell. I forgot to bring the tape to the raider tailgate last year but Vic Lombardi of the local news said "I will film it if you torch it". Without hesitation we poured lighter fluid on them and poof! They were gone!

hated him always for his play, esp after spitting. Thought he got railroaed on the diet pills, though. And, I've always suspected he was using 'roids of some kind. Off the field, and assuming he didn't roid, he seemed like a decent guy.

i hated what he did to Shannon. I detested what he did to his teammate during pre season scrimage. he was clearly like lyle alzado and on the juice. but man, when he was a bronco LB, he was a stud. i do wish we had some of that kind of attitude back on D, without the evil sh*t though.

well of course...Shanny told him he wasn't going to get a chance to start. Would you stick around? I wouldn't. And what kind of message does it send to the rest of the team?
golly, could that be one of the reasons why or Donks finished 9-7 and out of the playoffs that year (2002)?

So wait a minute. you think we went 9-7 cause Romo wasnt there. LMAO. and of course he wasnt going to start, he couldnt keep up in coverage against the Tight Ends, hence why he resorted to breaking Sharpe's arm. he knew he would get burned if he didnt take Shannon out. again, if a player is unable to perform his duties at said position you either become backup or get cut. instead of understading his age was catching up with him and being a team player Romo decided to depart while he still THOUGHT he had some value left.

no, I said one of the reasons.
and romo still had value as he started for the Raiders who went on to play in another superbowl.....
sure he was on the downside of his career, but you don't go telling players in the offseason that you are not going to let them compete and the expect them take a pay cut and think it's ok.
Mike Shannahan is one of the best things that ever happened to this franchise, but he has ****ed up along the way. This was one of them. In fact, the way Trevor Pryce was handled this offseason only strengthens my opinion on this matter.

I must admit I used to have a ROMOCOP poster in college.
You loved him on the broncos, and had to hate him everywhere else. I always respected the intensity he brought to preparing to play though.

I still like the guy...he was a tough ass...he didn't spit on Kordell either....it was JJ Stokes. All he did to Kordell was call him a dumbass...which is true. He didn't break Sharpe's arm in an illegal way...it was an honest tackle...so WTF. The guy will always be a Bronco to me. And a damn good one at that.

My utter outrage about his breaking Sharpes arm is well documented here.
In fact, I got my first ban for dishing Sharpe in the first place. The fact is I have never seen such a poorly called play in my life. It was like a dream. First, Romo held Sharpe on the whole route, ne had his arm in a vise...Sharpe made a ONE HANDED CATCH for a first down with Romo hanging all over him, then after the the tackle, Romo rolled up on Sharpe and twisted his arm like a piece of spagetti. It was holding, interference, a catch, Personal Foul all rolled into one. It should of been Denver ball with a PF tacked on.
Probably one of the most rediculous calls I have ever seen in 35 years of watching football.
It was total joke. Sharpe had to wear a sleeve on that elbow the rest of his career.

I thought Romanowski's play on Shannon Sharpe was going to be an unnecessary roughness call and possible ejection. I was shocked that nothing was called.
Also, there is no "if" when it comes to Romo and 'roids. He's one of the guys who came up positive for THG.
I'm not Romanowski's biggest fan but I do have a grudging respect for the way that he prepared and played football.

He broke sharpe's arm on purpose. He grabbed it, and rolled it over under his body. A cheap ass play. But he was always a cheap shot artist. He didn't resort to injuring people till late in his career though. He had a game sort of like Hanzlik's (sp) with the nugs. He'd poke and prod and knock guys away from the play and just plain goad them into committing turnovers/PF's.

Some posters (Wabbit comes to mind as a great example) can offer a positive input long before their 100th post. If that type of poster wasn't able to start threads before post #100, the forum would be diminished by the 100-post policy.

I'm with the Fade fan on this one.
I think the thing with Romo is...when he's on the team that you like and that team is doing well (There's no denying he found his way on to a few pretty doggone good teams.)...you kind of bury your head in the sand, and make excuses for the guy. When the colors on his jersey change, or the team drops from serious Super Bowl contention, his antics take on a whole new dimension...and the tendency is to see him as a dirty player.
I was glad to have him on the Donks...for the most part.
