Updating previous reports, the four-year deal Courtney Brown signed with the Denver Broncos has base salaries of $665,000 (2005), $725,000 (2006), $1,940,000 (2007) and $3,970,000 (2008). Brown also recieved a two tiered signing bonus totaling around 9.5 million.

I liked Adam. His food reviews were odd, but the guy did a great job as a beat writer and knew his stuff. I really never understood why he took such a beating on this board. Now and then...sure. But every week? Any way, this new guy, Williamson, just seems like he's coming into the office to collect a check and then out the door to the local Country Buffet. He sure doesn't seem to be going the extra mile for his stories. But looking at his photo, he doesn't really look like an "extra mile" kind of guy.

This is bull****. First the date is wrong, he hadn't signed Sunday night, and 2nd these are the last two updates for Courtney at KFFL:

Nunyo Demasio, of the Washington Post, reports sources familiar to the situation have noted free agent DE Courtney Brown (Browns) has accepted a contract with the Denver Broncos.

Nunyo Demasio, of the Washington Post, reports free agent DE Courtney Brown (Browns) told his suitors, including the Denver Broncos, that he needs more time to make a decision on where he will play in 2005, according to sources familiar with the situation.


The dates are last night and Friday night. That update from the 27th should have replaced Friday's as the two that are available for free and KFFL's updates usually cite the source for the contract info.

So which news source broke this?

He hasn't signed yet and better yet the Broncos official site has a piece on the trade with Droughns and Ekuban yet nothing confirming the Courtney Brown signing!!
