A BIG breakfast at Burger King?
Chain reported set to debut new Enormous Omelet Sandwich with more calories, fat than Whopper.
March 28, 2005: 7:20 AM EST
NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Burger King is reportedly set to unveil a large new breakfast sandwich that bets not everyone is looking to watch their diet.
USA Today reports that the No. 2 fast food chain is set to debut its Enormous Omelet Sandwich Monday. The sandwich will have one sausage patty, two eggs, two American cheese slices and three strips of bacon, according to the paper.
That works out to 730 calories and 47 grams of fat, according to the report. While the sandwich goes against the trend at some competitors to offer healthier fare, some analysts said that the new sandwich is likely to be a sales success. That's more than the company's Whopper burger, which the Burger King Web site said has 700 calories and 42 grams of fat.
"The critics will still label it food porn," says Sherri Daye Scott, editor at QSR, a fast-food industry trade magazine told the paper. "But the average male fast-food customer does not have a problem with this."
The new offering could also make Burger King more of a player in the breakfast market, where USA Today reports it seriously lags behind McDonald's (Research).
Burger King has been privately held since it was sold by British food conglomerate Diageo to a group led by Texas Pacific Group in 2002.

there problem in this ariea is Quality! there is none!!It's a problem for BK in every area. Almost every BK I've been to around the country is nasty. I actually relented and went to get a tender crisp bacon cheddar ranch after being inundated with the commercial the past month. I got the wrong order from the drive through and the food was terrible.

For my money, BK is ten times better than McD's. McD's doesn't even pretend to use real meat in their sandwiches and I always feel crappy after eating there...
I think I'd like one of these sandwiches for breakfast and one of the Hardee's monster thick burgers for lunch.

All of these fastfood places are crap. McD is the worst by far. BK isn't much better. All of it is unhealthy.
America is fat and it doesn't seem to be doing anything about it.

The point of the movie was to informally refute the decision of the courts. In deciding whether or not the fast food industry was guilty of making people fat, the courts ruled in favor of the fast food industry solely because the plaintiffs couldn't prove the other food they were eating weren't responsible. So, if someone eats only fast food and has health problems, it essentially overturns that decision and in theory leaves open the doors for appeal.
Nowhere did it assume that people eat fast food every meal, every day.

Subway? That's place is horrible, it's subs for people that are either A-vegetarian or B-don't have any real sub places around them. I try not to eat fast food but if I do, it's chicken out or a few select things from Wendy's....no chilli though...

Many people missed the points of the movie.
The legal issue was one point.
Another point was eating bad (obviously). It's not just about eating fast food for every meal. Hardly anybody does that. Out of 90 or so meals a month, many people will eat 90 unhealthy meals. It's not all fast food. A lot of peole will eat 40 fast food meals, and make the rest at home. Home cooked meals can be just as bad as fast food meals.
Don't get caught up on him eating at McDs for every meal. He could have spread it around. He could have ate at different fast food places. He could have gone to good resturants (better tasting foods, but still unhealthy). And he could have cooked at home. But if all the meals are filled with bad foods, the results will be the same.
As for the legal points in the movie, legally these fast food places aren't to blame. The guy's doctor told him to stop eating like that, and it was his choice to continue it. How many people have ignored their doctor's warnings, and kept eating bad? It's a personal choice. 99% of obese people are that way because of their own doing. But people always want to blame somebody else.

Mock's Enchilladas:
1 pound ground beef, fry with half an onion, add Seasoning Salt and Pepper liberally. Beat the meat and drain the fat.
Grease 9x 6 glass pan with butter.
Add 1 can Refried Beans, 3/4 can green enchillada sauce, 3/4 can Hot red sauce, save some for the top.
Simmer to a blather....add cheddar cheese, about 1.5 cups to a consistency guaranteed to stick in your arteries. Stir on low...
Package of 10 tortillas, (I can usually only pack in 9). Spoon into tortillas and place in glass pan. Keep about a cup to mix on top of tortillas, spoon remaining mix on top and add what is left of enchillada sauce.
Add one cup chopped green or black olives on top...sprinkle another half cup of cheese, top again with parmasan cheese.
Bake at 370 for about 25 minutes or till the edges bubble and cheese turns slightly.
CAREFULLY remove blob and let cool for 15 minutes. Serve with tons of SourCream, some lettuce, green taco sauce, Jalapenos and two Coronas with lime.
I estimate this dish must have around 5000 calories. It's KILLER.

5 years ago, I got a rather large raise. 10K. And, Mrs Dog decided to stop working, and cash in some stocks she'd owned prior to marrying me. She wanted more "mom" time. I didn't really like that idea, but I did agree that taking off two years was not a bad idea as Little Girl Dog has a July BDay and is therefore more than a year younger than some kids, and had just turned four and was going into pre-K, that a 7:45 am to 5pm day at school was pretty rough, and we could afford to spend more than just what I earn for limited time. So, with my raise, I took over paying for the groceries ... in addition to the elec. mortgage and entertainment. I had envisoned a bicycle trip/adventure or sailboat, but ....
So, Mrs Dog then commences to just assume a job will fall in her lap, and year 3 rolls around ... nothign but piece work out of the house, and her dad dies sending her into a year of grief. year 4 rolls around ..... she starts looking, but not very hard. AT this pt I am thinking Divorce, but I'd miss the kid, and since the woman NO HAS NO SALARY, I'll get killed with child support. I am f*cked royal. Meanwhile finances are killing me. We aren't eating out very much (you see this rant is on topic)
So, year 5 rolls around and she's starting to get the clue that its hard finding a job when you are tied to one locale and there's a glut of lawyers and you haven't been working. And, she's starting to get a clue that I've been pissed at her for 3-4 years, which is sort of a negative in marriage. FINALLY, a week and a half ago she gets a law gig. As Irony would have, she's now a divorce lawyer. (did I mention that I'm f*cked royally)
So, I am no longer buying groceries ... though I've dropped a couple hundred the last two weeks as she hasn't gotten paid yet, and the kid was out on spring break so I took half days off and spent a couple hundred taking her to do stuff (which I enjoyed) BUT since Mrs Dog is not getting home late, I HAVE TO PAY FOR TAKEOUT OR EATING OUT 4 DAYS A WEEK. Meanwhile, she's figuring out how much she can hide in tax avoidance.

sushi's prolly the healthiest takeout. I can get a 6 pieces and 12 calif roles and terraiki for 25 bucks. I get it at lunch after the gym and put it in the fridge at work, and take it home
Little girl dog like subway's tuna ... on white - cringe. And I can get whole wheat and low fat. Mrs Dog doesn't like that terraiki, I've learned.
Jason's Deli - less than 20 bucks and great raw veggies.
The chinese takeout moved, so I don't have an outlet for that, yet.
Vietnamese soup and noodles is always good.
I'll try Fazolies cause they usually have a coupon for 5bucks off in the Thur paper, but I can whip up a red sauce real quick and dump some pre mixed salad in a bowl, and Italian freezes good. I usually make something on Sunday that I freeze for a quick meal during the week.
Frozen Pizza - God love em.
