I'm on broadband and there are times when this site flies... and times when I end up clicking off somewhere else because it is slower than Ray Buchanan.

Its not anyones fault but TJs.

All he had to do was ask for some opinions on good servers.

But he just forged ahead without asking anyone here.

And chose the absolute worst server that I know of.

Not really.

All TJ has to do is get the hosting plan switched over again.

Might have to deal with it for a year, dont know what kind of contract he signed up for or whatever, but he needs a re-seller account on Rackforce or even Website Source or datacenturion or even canaca (though the control panel for canaca sucks, the server is reliable and fast).

When I go to work tomorrow I will send him some info on much better servers.

Then its all up to him.

You know how you could tell we were going to have problems? The fact that there was a rollback and we lost two weeks worth of posts and rep and comments and such. A good server with good customer support and service techs would have at most lost 2 days of stuff (but I would have shut down the site while making the switch. Wouldnt have done much for our daily need of the OM but no one would have lost anything).

I dont blame TJ, he might not have known the process involved. I didnt before I started doing this sort of thing. I just wish he would have asked before hand. Me, Josh, even Patsie could have helped him out with it.

That's odd... It was running VERY slow for me just a few minutes ago and then I noticed my poppup blockers were set to allow for some reason so I set them back to block popups and the mane started cruisin right along. ??? Coincidence? probably.

this site is slow more times than not. i really get frustrated with it cause ill be in the middle of a good debate or conversation and then i cant finish cause it jams up. thats one reason why im not on here as much as i used to be.

What are you talking about? We've used the same company for years.

I'll take a look at whatever information is sent my way... But the bottom line is the bottom line. The faster servers are going to be much more expensive than the host I've been using for the past four years.
