What is this where you put the location of the states on the map?

I wonder how many could name all of the state capitals. On the way back from Colorado the other weekend I was embarrased with my wife not knowing 1/2 of them..so for the next 8 hours I drilled them into her head.

In high school I was proud of the fact that I could put every country, and their capital, in the world on a map 100%. I'd be lucky to get about 50% now.

The company's firewall blocks the site for reason.

I try to get a smattering of everything in all fields, but my real passion is history and geography. Heck last night I read the entire Gates of Fire just because it referenced history in it. I almost became a history major but I realized I wouldn't make any money at it. And since I was good with math, physical sciences, and my hands I decided on mechanical engineering. Now I am becoming interested in law and taking several law classes. I'm thinking about becoming a lawyer, but I would have to take classes part time (gotta earn a living) and it would basically take up 4-5 years of life doing nothing but that...not sure I want it that bad.

When my son has to do a report or even just mentions another country I ask him if he knows where it's located on a map. He says no dad and I say well pull out the atlas son cuz your gonna learn. He loves that :)

On this thing I got 45 outta 50 but a few of those were off by just a touch. I'll have to get my son to try it. That should be good for a laugh. :)

That is a pretty cool site. If you start from the homepage they have alot of other maps of the world that work like this state one and they also have quizzes not only on geography but math, 20th century presidents, computers, trivia etc... It's a good tool for kids cuz they can learn geography while kinda playing at the same time. Since most kids don't like geography it beats staring at an atlas for hours memorizing. Man, I sound like I'm getting paid. :)

I'm gonna try something here with this print screen program thingy...
