In response to our Wednesday night story regarding the fact that Georgia linebacker/defensive end David Pollack pissed out many scouts at the Bulldogs' Pro Day workout on Tuesday, we heard from a key league source who attended the workout.

And the league source was candid in his assessment.

"[Y]our report on Pollack is absurd. True, he didn’t do anything in terms of running forties/jumps/shuttles. The reason was that, unlike most of the other premier players, he did everything at Indy. Not only that, but his times at Indy (6.88 3-cone, 3.90 short shuttle, 37" vertical, 4.75 forty) are absolutely terrific and put him at the top of his position, whether as a 'backer or end.

"On top of that, he worked out at his workout the other day as first, a defensive lineman, then as a linebacker. Basically, he did two 15-minute position workout for the coaches. And he looked great. . . . I can assure you that there is absolutely no possible way that he’ll get out of the first round."

The source concluded by explaining that, in his view, our information from Wednesday "came from a scout who graded Pollack too low in the Fall and is now trying to justify his grade to save face."

Or it could be that some scouts are hoping that Pollack will still be around in the bottom of the first round when their teams draft.

I like Pollack and as a AU fan, he tormented us through the years. He has a non-stop motor and I love the passions he plays w/.

Why don't they name the scout? If its alright to spread rumors about a kid that could potentially cost him millions of dollars, then it should be alright to identify the individual responsible.

I don't think Pollack is a sure thing, and its possible he could be a quite ordinary pro, but he's one of the guys I wouldn't mind risking #25 on next month.

Can you imagine, a guy shows up to support his teammates and somebody tries to spin it into a negative?

Well, it IS called the rumor mill. After all, PastaBelly's prediction hasn't panned out yet either.

PFT rumor mill is worth reading, yes he speculates all the time, but he's got some brass balls. It's not a bad duo, PFT for the rumors and KFFLwire for confirmation.

In his final game "Between The Hedges", David recorded 2
sacks, and 6 tackles (3 for loss). David's 2 sacks catapults him past
Reggie White on the SEC all-time sack leader list!

can't trade the comp picks, man. doesn't matter if he wore dresses at the proday. he's a top 15 pick. we are going to need to trade our first + trevor (if he can boost his stock miraculously) or our second (which i would rather not, even though i think david is super player), to be able to have a chance to pick him.
