I saw them from the mosh pit open up for David Bowie in '95 in St. Louis. It was an experience.

Reznor always seemed a bit popp-ey...

Sweeet. It only took freakin' 10 damn years... Halo 18 is near oh yes, its true...
I saw Trent at McNichols back in '94. God, I'll never forget, my buddy Sean went with us and fell asleep during the opening act. Turns out that opening act was Marilyn Manson (before he made it big)
I'll never forget that damned horrible Spider monkey song that Manson sang that night... the horror, the horror...

Do you mean their first new wave album where Al affected a fake English accent? Ha! ha! I almost forgot.
"And I dress this way just to keep them at bay, 'coz Halloween is every daaay-ay-ay-ayyyy."
I can't imagine what he was thinking...

Hey NIN fans. Being that there is a new album coming out I started to emmerse myself in all the other albums and what not. Come to find out I am missing an mp3 that was an exclusive download available on nin.com The mp3 was "The Fragile (Keith Hillebrandt Remix)" or "The Fragile (Version)", something like that. Any of you Nine Inch Maners have this file that they could hook me up with? Please PM me if ya got it.

I guess that makes me a fan. They are pretty confused, but I try to sort thru it.

When that tour came through my town, Marilyn Manson was nothing more than an extension of the Jim Rose Circus. He shoved a mic into his colon. Literally. A mic up his bung-hole.

Staley from Alice in Chains passed away on the same day that Kurt Cobain died, just a few years later. Happens to be my best friend's birthday. We always hold our breath for a week or so after his birthday afraid that another alternative rock star has passed away.
Not a huge Reznor fan. Respect him, but don't dig him. New single is getting quite a bit of play on MTV2.

Let’s just say there wasn’t a whole lot of left of him from his drug use

Which is a crying shame b/c the band was so talented, they are one of my favorite bands ever…probably top 3 with me.
I know we’ve all talked about this before, but it was so selfish of him to continue to do heroin and rob us fans of some great music. Jerry Cantrell is ok, but it doesn’t work w/o Layne’s haunting lyrics and harmonies.
You are right…heroin is straight from the devil himself, it is nasty, nasty stuff.

The Jim Rose Circus... I will never get over the dude who lit his cigarette with sparks flying in his face... or the freak who could put his entire body thru a tennis racket.... or the dude who held up cement blocks with his wang... ah memories ROFL!

No joke there. I've watched good friends turn into monsters on that trash.
I had a great friend that who was a family guy and led normal family life and then a year later his parents were calling the police on him for stealing their car and wouldn't even let him in their home.

...so, Nine Inch Maners. Did anyone make it to either of the shows on 5/3 or 5/4 here in Denver? I made it to the 5/3 show. Kick a**. Anyone liking the new album as much as I am? Got me the Japanes import with 3 bonus tracks. To me this album is closer to Pretty Hate Machine than anything he has done. It is unique, and I am digging it. I especially like the song "Only". It starts out sounding like a Depeche mode track from 83 and then morphs into a rocking f-ing chorus.
So on a semi-related note , does anyone here happen to have "The Fragile" on cassette? PM me if you do. Kind of random, I know, but if you do have it let me know.

I like NIN, but not to the extent that I'd go out and buy the CD, it's actually my dad who's a big NIN fan.
Ohio may not be the big place to find a bunch of bands, but between Reznor(Cleveland), Marilyn Manson(Canton), and Maynard James Keenan(Ravenna) I can at least say that this state has certainly left a mark in rock music.

I've been listening to the CD all weekend, and I've got to agree with thos who say it's the closest to PHT as any of his work. I like it quite a bit. I read a few reviews, and think that reviewers are morons. One idiot called it lazy. I can get someone saying that they didn't like it and wish it were more "this or that..." But of all things, it isn't a lazy effort Trent put out...
