DC was on the bears this past season. Didnt Eason sign a contract w/ the Cowboys?

You forgot to mention Travis McGriff.

Watson was traded to the Bills i think, i dont know what came of him. Harris went to Cincinnati after we cut him. I dont know if he is still there. McNeal was on our practice squad but i think we let go of him. Same for Eason but then the Browns picked him up and were happy with him so they gave him a 3 year contract. Clark is a guy ive always liked, i believe he is starting for the Bears.

Harris is with Detroit now I believe. I think Watson was cut from Buffalo. Clark has had a pretty productive career

It was the Browns, my bad. I wouldnt classify Clark as a bum, cuz if memory serves me, wasnt he picked in the 5th or 6th round. He's had a nice career given his draft status.

Harris was a bust since we wasted a 4th round pick on him. What did become of Watson. I know he was on the Bills, but what team did he go after that.

You forgot to mention Travis McGriff.

I was watching some arena football game a few weeks ago, and Travis McGriff was a player on one of the teams.

Thanks for the update clint7, I remember him holding out two days before he signed a contract.

I kept on thinking why is this midget 5'8 WR is holding out for money. I would never understand why we drafted him in the third round, perhaps Shanny wanted a Tim Dwight clone. Too bad he didnt get the real thing during that 99 draft ( I think it was 99).

McGriff plays for Nashville in the Arena League.

Desmon Clark...dropped a few balls and we told him to beat it..catch remember where he went next but he's out of FB noew I believe

Nick Harris...cut before the season started and picked up by the bengals...still there I believe

Bryant McNeal....still on the roster I think
Nicholas Eason...mental problems....cut before this season
Chris Watson...cut and picked up by Buffalo to return kicks...can't remember what happened next.

Watson was traded to Buffalo. I believe it was for the 4th round choice that netted Brandon.

Trade to Miami for John Avery.

Nash is a stud WR in the Arena league. John Avery played with Tommy Maddox in the XFL.

Butler was an Ohio State guy - RB moved to CB if memory serves correct.

Marcus Nash is a stud in the AFL - big time stud as a matter of fact.

McGriff was a bad bad dream - one of those dreams where your falling only instead of waking up you hit the flipping ground and bounce. Why would you bring his name up? Now I have to go drink.

Mike Croel anyone?

I remembering being 16 years old and reading the USA today review of him. He was and I quote "The next L. Taylor" After his rookie year I had high hopes! Then it was down hill from there. He went with Reeves to the Giants and Falcons I think.

I was also confused because the Gerald Perry i was thinking of was a first basemen for the Braves. I looked on profootball reference and could not find a Gerald Perry

Feel free to add almost every name from this upcoming draft as well, as Kreiger astutely pointed out in his RMN piece:

"They selected 15 players in the third round and later over the last two drafts. Just one - Quentin Griffin - has made an impact so far. They took four defensive linemen in 2003 alone. None has made an impact.

Just as they take chances on free agents with baggage, they take chances on draft choices with baggage - much of it medical - in search of the home run. Their 2001 draft, in which they started with Willie Middlebrooks and Paul Toviessi, is the best - maybe worst - example.

They are operating an old plan in a new age. Their chances for substantial improvement this season now seem to rest on a great draft. If you're going to bet on this, I suggest you get the historical odds."

In 88...the 88th pick was Green Bay Rollin Putzier NT Oregon ...

You know what this means....our TE is going to be the key to our defense.

That tears it, time to switch Putz to NT, then offseason complete...well after we bring in Earl Boykins to play LB.

We had 5 players from the 88 first round roll through Denver. Too bad only one was worth much when he played here.

Ya he was signed as a backup. But Humphrey held out for more money. Once he decided to return Green was the starter and was kicking ass. He had some long runs and even made the pro bowl! After that he faded.

Chris Watson was one of the absolute worst players I've ever seen.

Denver traded him to Buffalo where he amazingly lasted past one season before they cut him......my guess is that he's now selling shoes.

Gotta say the biggest, non-first round bust was Tonvassi. Bobby Humphrey gets an honorable mention, but loses out on the strength of his one solid season. Biggest first round bust? I still say Tommy Maddox, based solely on the draft position and the way it cheesed off Elway.

Wrong, he was traded to the Saints for their 1st round bust of a nose tackle...... The Name slips me. Anyway later that year Denver went to NO and lost 42-0 and Gregory got a sack.

Both players were cut at the end of the season.

I try not to freak out as soon as we draft a guy, but the Toviessi pick was a total nightmare. The kid showed a lack of commitment in college and was vocal about his reluctance to play through injuries. People were projecting him in the 4th round and we trade up to grab him in round two. He gets to camp and establishes himself as a Jake from day one.

The sad part about it is that one of the media outlets actually picked Chris Watson as the AFC's return specialist, as a rookie, on their preseason Pro-Bowl team.

Might have actually happened if Chris Watson didn't fumble everyother kick.
And it would have helped if he had been any good.

Shawn Knight Saints First Round Pick in 1987 #11 overall.

http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/NE/5213486

Defensive end Jason Buck and defensive tackle Shawn Knight were a pair of reasons behind BYU's success. Buck, the Outland Trophy winner in 1986, went to the Cincinnati Bengals with the No. 17 pick in the first round of the '87 draft, while Knight, a defensive tackle, went six picks earlier to the Saints.

Five seasons later, neither was on his original team. Buck left the Bengals for the Washington Redskins via Plan B free agency in 1991. Playing at defensive end in the Bengals' 3-4 defense, he enjoyed a pair of solid-but-unspectacular seasons in 1988 and 1989, posting 12 of his 19 career sacks during that span. But the rest of his years in the NFL were fairly quiet, and he was out of football by 1994.

More can be said for Buck than for Knight. He was shipped to the Denver Broncos for Ted Gregory in 1988 in an exchange of first-round disappointments. He was out of football following a 1989 cup of coffee with the Phoenix Cardinals, completing his NFL career without as much as a sack.
