Ok guys, 1st of all let me thank all of you guys that have joined...2nd I wanted to imput some rules that we should abide by...Please read through them carefully...
1. You have 24 hours to select a player or to announce a trade.
2. If you do infact make a trade please announce it and then the GM you made the trade with would have 24 hours from the time the trade was announced, to make a selection. TRADES ARE FOR DRAFT PICKS ONLY!!!
3. If you know or feel that you wont be around to make your selection, please put together a list of 5 players you would want your team to choose, and PM me with it.
4. I would like the draft to last atleast 2 rounds...If we are moving at a steady pace, then I'll be more than happy to extend it to 3 maybe 4 rounds but, the thing is we all arent online at the same time so we cant really tell how fast its going to go...Not only that some people might forget, or just plain lose interest in the whole thing...
5. PLEASE use this Thread for DRAFT PICKS ONLY
6. PLEASE use this Thread for DRAFT PICKS ONLY
7. PLEASE use this Thread for DRAFT PICKS ONLY
8. After you select the player for your team...please make sure that you say " so and so is now on the clock " since the 24 hours starts from the last selection, we will go according to the last pick...
9. Please copy paste, the draft order after you make your selection, so its easier for the other GM's to see which players have been drafted, instead of having to scroll up every time...
10. When selecting a player...please inform us with the players name, position and which school he's from...(IE, Rod Smith, WR, Missouri Southern State)
11. Thanks again to all of you for joining please, PM me if you have any other questions...
WE WILL WAIT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE TO START THE DRAFT, PLEASE BE PATIENT AS WE IMPLEMENT SOME NEW RULES, WHICH CAN BE FOUND IN THE ORIGINAL PICK A TEAM THREAD...

For the future, you guys dont need to repost the whole board after each pick, we will automatically update the board with the picks, cutting and pasting that whole board takes up alot of space. Also in the future remember to note the time and the time zone when u made your pick.

Hey CB and SoCal....we should start a Discussion Thread so we can all chat about our picks and get some feedback......so we don't flood this thread or the Trade thead...??

Remember, you can still trade your pick after you select it. They are not under contract. You just have the rights ala the Rivers/Manning trade. It's just draft picks however.

With the 3rd pick in the 2005 NFL draft, the Cleveland Browns select: Derrick Johnson, OLB, Texas.
Welcome aboard Derrick! Great combine pushed your stock up, and defense is what we need to start building on, you will be a major part of that.

So what has been decided? do we pick for him or skip him? This is bullcrap just like last year. What is so damn difficult. It's friggin' Saturday! Let's give him a punter.

He has until 4:35 EST. If the selection is not made by then I say we let Eddie Mac make his pick.

A window time frame assigned would have been a decent idea that way if they knew they couldnt be on durring those 4-6 hrs or whatever decided. They could provide a list... Its going to go really slow this way.

CB Champ's rule here is that we make the pick for the guy. I like the idea that we do it like the real nfl draft and if a team just doesnt pick, the next team can go on the clock and the first team can still pick at any time but if the next team picks before them, too bad but the rule is already set. We will have to pick for Chicago at 4:35 based on their needs.

im interested in SoCal's pick. my boy Aaron needs some defensive help. :)
watermock

Yes So Cal, but the player my be lost and it would screw up the draft. I'm sitting at 7 stewing, so whatever. I say we make a consensus pick or he will be totally discouraged. Now what team is it? if he's not made a pick by 24, we do our best.
Chicago. Either Brown, Edwards, Williams or Rolle basically. Chicago can use help everywhere.
When the clock strikes, we make a pick for him. I haven't even seen him check in.

Mock, i would vote Brown of those, they sorta filled the WR need with muhammad but he is 32, so they might still go WR. I would think one of Brown, Williams, Edwards, i dont care. If i had to vote though id lean to Brown. What do u think?

watermock
03-12-2005, 12:31 PM
So we are flying by the seat of the pants. Sounds fine to me. We should get an orphan list on the main board for people to sign up if someone misses their spot. Freaking 24 hours is plenty.
You can always leave a list also. This is going to go belly up again otherwise.
SoCalBronco
03-12-2005, 12:34 PM
ok Anubis, to be fair to killerbronco76 we will give up up to his slotted time which is about another hour and 5 minutes. When the clock hits 1:35 here and he hasnt shown up, Chicago will be yours and you will have 30 minutes to trade the pick or make a pick. We cant have people sleeping on their picks like this when we have other people who wanted to be part of this draft and are eager to participate. If we didnt have another person willing and ready to join in to the mock draft who didnt have a pick already, we would go with CB Champ's established rule that we just make the pick for them though.

Ive thought about it for awhile, i think it would be fine if Anubis is here right at 3:10/4:10/5:10/6:10 which is in about 40 minutes, he can make the pick for the team that hasnt picked but i now think it isnt quite fair to take away teams altogether from the person if they missed their first round pick. That might be a little too much, but certainly it would be okay for Anubis, if he is there right at the time the clock expires to make the pick for that person.

Alot of opinion is that they don't like their RB's. Bennett is always injured and will go RFA next year, O Smith is a bong hit away from a year suspension, and I like Moore better than any of them. I had a bunch of corners too but I would of taken Rolle and stuck him into the slot or FS and moved Sharper.
Brown can also play fullback in a power set, is a better reciever than Caddilac and will be able to punish LB's at 232.

Actually this time was pretty freakin' boring. We basically we're excluded from 95% of anything.
We stayed at Fort Wilderness Camp Grounds in a cabin. Actually it was really a trailer that looked like a cabin.
Wasn't anything to do except hang out with family. It was too cold to swim (for me) Northerns were going nuts in the water!
We didnt go to any of the parks really, i went for an hour or 2 @ Epcot, but left to go home.
There was ALOT of Eye candy although! It was spring break for some people, but like i said we didnt go to any parks for along time.
Hopfully next time we stay at a Resort with easy Transportation around the corner. I wanted to go up to Pleasure Island.. Disneys Nightclubs... but no one else wanted to go up and i ended up doing nothing. Maybe next time.

First of all, Carolina releases backup QB Rutherford, Roderick. With the 14th pick, the Carolina Panthers select:

Utah's Alex Smith, a Heisman Trophy, All-America and Mountain West Player of the Year candidate, exploded on to the conference and national scene as a sophomore last year when he led Utah to a 10-2 record, its first outright conference championship in 46 years and a Liberty Bowl victory over Southern Mississippi.
We believe Alex Smith can bring us the much-needed poise in a quarterback and we also believe Jake Delhomme is deteriorating.

The 6'5", 240 pound wideout ran a 4.44 40 at the Combine and he had a vertical leap of 39 inches. He was agile enough to return punts in college, but may grow into a tight end at the next level.
He'll either pair with TO to give the Eagles unreal matchup problems at WR or he'll replace Chad Lewis in the Philly TE rotation. Either way, his amazing triangle numbers and solid work ethic are too much to pass up at this point in the Draft. He also fills a team need as I plan to release Freddie Mitchell at my earliest convenience.

With their second pick of the 2005 draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select LB Darryl Blackstock from the University of Virginia.
I don't know if the Bengals are going to a 3-4 like seemingly every other team in the league, but Blackstock would be a great 3-4 rush end. Either way, he's talented and I didn't want to draft a S with this pick since I don't like any of the available talent there.

ok here is what we are going to do. We are going to now move on with the draft, so Arizona (BFDD) is on the clock. However we are going to allow CBailey to make his pick at any time. So for example if the next time he comes on the Mane is in two days and we have moved on by 2 picks he can still make his pick of the remaining players who havent been picked, so he can chime in with his new pick at any time but we will move on to the next person to pick. BFDD is on the clock.
